We have run out of space so thought I would start a new thread.

Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

That shade looks good. Might have to get one.

Had to chuckle at the "Roll-on Toddler Milk" underneath... I wondered why any toddler might need their (drinking) milk rolled on to their tongue from a deodorant-style dispenser until I realised

FirstAtForty · 05/05/2007 15:11

oooh yes a meet up would be lovely. There must be some central-ish places... Oxford, Birmingham, Milton Keynes ? With or without babes????

Kayzed - good news about the fading. Is there any chance they could be scarring from where he has had scrapes or something before?

Weather lovely here - at the moment anyway, going to attempt a bbq this afternoon...

ImpyChica · 05/05/2007 15:17

Well remembered SleepWeak!! Yes Ry is 10 months today. Happy "10th" to Sefton too and to Roisin for yesterday. Where has the time gone? They'll be 18 before we know it.... cringing as we show their baby photos to their first girl/boyfriend .... [sigh]....

Great news about TTC Lysettes! Finger's crossed for you!

Would be fab to all meet up.... why don't you all come to Madrid? (I'd say for some sunshine but yous in the UK have been having much better weather than us of late...!)

Great news about Chilli's spots fading KZ - hopefully they're nothing to worry about...

Great pix Pav, hope you feel better soon. These things take time.

That shade looks fab Bloss - just bought our third stoopid umbrella today - constantly breaking from being twisted around.... grrrr.

Thx for all the Ryan compliments. I'm always getting told off for taking so many photos.... . Have a great long weekend guys. Impy x

HumphreysCorner · 05/05/2007 20:41

Evening ladies

Belated 10 month B'Day to Roshi kayzed. Sounds hopeful about the spots as you were in Oz for several weeks.

Pavlov-yummy pics. Enjoy your weekend-pleased you feel brighter.

I must be a terrible mummy as I have never owned a parasol for the pram/pushchair. Do use sunhats though

Took Sophie's cot bumper off tonight as when I got her up after her afternoon nap she was wrapped in it!

Isn't it just dreadful about the little girl who is missing.

Hi to everyone else, sorry but I feel soooooo tired and unable to reply to everyone.

HC - I have avoided the news about the little girl as it upset me too much .

I have a parasol for the pushchair, but dont know where it is...I dont use the pushchair really. Not yet. It is so much easier to use the front carrier. DD can still fit in it, and gets excited whenever she sees it, makes her little huhuhuh noises and lifts her arms up with a big grin [proud mumm emoticon]. I find it easier to carry any shopping with it, its easier to get in and out of shops, {not that I go many, seem to have become a bit claustrophobic recently }. The pushchair is so big and cumbersome and takes ages to set up and get back into car. We need to get a stroller, but even then, I dont think I will use it much. Cant get it down a lot of my fave beaches, or through the woods so easily and DD cant touch the flowers as easily. Got I went on there a bit didnt I?

We went to a bbq today. DD had 1 hr sleep this morning/lunch time and that was it. As always she was in a wonderful mood with everyone, smiled, laughed, crawled, stood, played with other children, had cuddles, no tears except when I put her in car seat to come home! She took a bottle before bf this evening, and lay her head against my shoulders, fist in my mouth as she usually does when she feeds and just cuddled in while dp read bedtime story. Oh it was magical. Out like a light. Lets hope it lasts as awake 4 times last night!

I think she is teething. Again. She cant be. She has 6 teeth. But she is chewing on her finger, both sides of her mouth, almost constantly, and she is as a serious dribble problem! I cant see where it would be tho, no visible signs of new teeth on the horizon, but seems to be at the sides a bit further back...

My LO, she is going to be a mountaineer - she climbs in and over everything, and yesterday, she actually climbed off my lap, like turned around, pushed herself into position and slid down, carefully putting feet on floor, then turned and gently lowered herself onto bottom. I was amazed but a little sad that she is growing up so fast.

She can also blow kisses now. Aw [another proud mummy emoticon]

Sorry, I went on a lot there about DD didnt I? It keeps me feeling positive, I think I have become quite boring you know...

KZ - oh your DP sounds just like mine. Infuriating isnt it?! I cant let off anger like that at DP tho, apart from him most likely doing it back, louder, I have been more crabby than usual with him lately and it would not be fair, even though i often feel like it!!! It must feel good! What did he do? How did he react?! Did he run?! It reminds me of today. I asked DP to keep eye on Pops whilst I ate food. He had beer, so could not stop her from crawling over to where someone stupidly left a beer bottle on floor! I went to stop her. She needed nappy changing, I asked DP to do it and then give me a break. He changes smelly nappy and hands her to a friend! Somehow, quite effortlessly, he seemed to do very little, and I ran ragged, but without actually doing anything wrong? and because he changed a nappy, all my female friends love this new man. pmsl!
Roshi is just like DD too, she has a fit if she has hat on, unless distracted. I thought the straps might work on her tho. She has developed a good temper..stiffens her legs, arches back and lets out a blood curdling cry like I have jammed her fingers in a door when I try to put her in car seat!!

Where I live - The actual location in Plymouth is not great, lots of houses jammed together, housing estate nearby, not much greenery, but its close to everything, town, A38, beaches, woods, shops. However, for an area which used to be considered a rough area (regeneration area, bought as it is going to rocket soon enough here) our neighbours are fab. We are on talking terms with lots of them, we save parking spaces for each other, and get indignant when a 'stranger' parks in our 'space', we borrow things from each other, share power tools, my next door neighbours dont have children, retired, and buy DD xmas and newborn pressies! Its typical, look after your own neighbourhood. DP, I think does not like it so much, but I lived in London so am used to city live. He grew up in tiny little village in Devon (and middle of Nowhere, USA) so not used to it so much.

Sorry for rambling. I had a glass of wine, loosened the VR tongue!

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 22:01

oooooh NT, I love NT property...we can have tea and cake!

Good idea. Suggestions? I can relatively easily make anywhere off M4/M5/West side of M25.

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 22:02

KZ - sorry you said tea and cake, must be a good idea! Oh, Saltram House, NT place I take Lo for walks, does the best millionaire shortcake! And those yoghurt flapjacks? mmm I am hungry now!

LOL, you should pop your head round sometime. Even now, for a quick slug of one! they are very friendly chappesses and the occasional chap!

Cleaning, ew! I have done a spring clean, two days worth, and kitchen already a mess. We are getting a dishwasher [grin}.

kbaby · 06/05/2007 11:58

Hello- Im still here. It?s taken me 1 hr to read all your messages and that?s only since Tuesday night! I have to read them all though or Ill miss something. I need a laptop so I can quickly pop on and off.

Had DS 9 month check on Wednesday and the first thing the GP said was about a possible squint, so hes had been referred to an eye clinic. He also heard him coughing and said his chest wasn?t clear. The fact that ive taken him there numerous times about his cough and been fobbed off wasn?t mentioned. Hes now on ab?s until Tuesday and then a chest x ray if it hasn?t cleared. Us- we didn?t get questioned by the HV and they didn?t even look at DS apart from weighing him so not quite sure what the point of the check up was! No one even asked me or saw him sitting up.

Since hes had been crawling hes come on leaps and bounds. Hes so much happier. He crawls about the house chasing DD while shouting ?dada? and is in every cupboard. Prob is though hes too slow for DD so she keeps dragging him around by the arm. No amount of telling her works grgg.. For some reason though he doesn?t know he can crawl on grass and so he just sits there in the garden. He has become a nightmare to feed. He pulls all the food out of his mouth to put back in but drops most of it and won?t accept a spoon anywhere near. It?s difficult to think of finger food that is substantial enough to count as a meal.

Hes still little, he weighs 17lb 14 so centile 25th but 91st for height.

Thanks for the response re DH work. I think he would easily get another job as he has lots of call centre manager experience, but the salary would not be the same and he doesn?t want to leave BG as he likes the company. I work 30hrs a week, but my salary wouldn?t really cover our outgoings. Ive said that he should get a job elsewhere and take a pay cut but he doesn?t want to as the wages hes on now plus his bonuses/healthcare/shareschemes etc mean that were prob quite well off. But I don?t think its fair as im already stressed enough trying to deal with the constant why?s, tantrums and jealousy. Hes now just contemplating it if he is told he doesn?t have a job but ive said he must look elsewhere if it comes down to working away.

DD said to me yesterday ?when im bigger ill have big boobies like you mummy?
Me ?yes that?s right? not really knowing where this was going
DD ?and then ill be able to feed james milk out of by boobies, mummy why are you laughing?

Ceebee- we have the same probs brushing teeth and no I just give him the toothbrush to chew on. Can?t say I would give DS an ice pop but then I wouldn?t have given him half an Easter egg yesterday but DD did

HC glad things are going better and the AD?s are working.

Kayzed- I would pay privately. Surely it wouldn?t cost more that £150

Impy- Great pics.
Pavlov- some of those fairies are scary looking.
Kayzed- PMSL at your Ds comment.

Blos- your posts always make me chuckle.

First- Cute pictures.

Im up for a meet up but live in south Wales im willing to travel a bit though.

IamBlossom · 06/05/2007 19:19

There you are KBabes, glad to see you are doing your homework and keeping up with the posts! RE finger food that constitutes a meal - I get a spoonable meal ready for Toby, but have to feed it to him around him feeding himself finger food IYSWIM, so he usually ends up having the equivalent of two lunches and two suppers, the gutbucket. I put pieces of ham, bread and butter, strawberries, banana, rice cakes, fishfingers with the batter taken off, satsuma pieces cut in half, tomato, cucumber, breadsticks, dairy lea triangles, that sort of thing (obviously not all of it all at the same time....!). He wolfs everything I let him feed himself.

Yesterday for lunch he ate:

a banana
2 satusmas
piece of bread and butter
piece of ham
pot of homemade chicken, swede and parsnip
pot of yoghurt

Total piglet.

Soooooooo hungover today. Food was totally divine last night, and I drank a bottle of Rose. Jeez, have I paid for it. Also seem to have gained 4 pounds in one night....

KZ - Grr at Dh. Good for you letting off some steam.

Bloss

xx

IamBlossom · 06/05/2007 19:20

oh and KBaby, both my boys have/had rattly chests. It comes and goes, and H's is hardly ever there now. MIL says DH was "bronchial" as a child too..........

Ceebee74 · 06/05/2007 19:56

Pretty ? how cute is Junior?? And I agree with the others, he does look old for his age.

HC ? hope you are feeling better soon and that the HV was useful when she came round

Lysettes ? I wouldn?t worry too much about the drinking ? Josh still has tons of milk so I figure other liquids aren?t quite as important at the moment.

Bloss ? glad your dinner party went ok and you got drunk ? that is how it should be! Hope ?Jamies? food was upto the required standard

Impy ? lovely photos aswell- what a cheeky grin Ryan has! And for what it is worth, I think you made the right decision about India ? it would have been VERY hard to leave him behind.

Pav ? what a gorgeous venue for your wedding (and what gorgeous photos of your DD). You are lucky to live near such a lovely place.

KZ ? fingers crossed about DS?s patches and hope the Sunday lunch went ok today. I love cooking but find it traumatic cooking complicated meals like roasts and also for lots of people (I panic about getting everything ready at the same time!)

Kbaby ? nice to hear from you. Lol at the easter egg and that you actually have some easter eggs left!!

Bloss ? have we got the same MIL?? Josh has had a cough/cold for months now and all I hear from MIL is how DH always used to be ?chesty? (yet another part of Josh that ?he gets off his daddy? ? honestly, I swear, according to MIL, Josh has none of my genes whatsoever!)

A meet-up sounds like a fab idea although might be quite difficult for me as I live in the North (although not as far North as Wallace and Agalch!) ? would be prepared to travel though if at all possible.

Took Josh on a swing today for the first time ? he loved it so I guess I need to do that more often.

Just sat waiting for DH to come home from cricket with my tea ? chicken kebab ? yum yum!!

Have a good evening all and a fab bank holiday tomorrow (in the rain!)

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/05/2007 19:58

Waves to all the girls in new nickname dress!

MaeWest · 06/05/2007 20:53

Looks good Bloss

Just checking in, been (just about) keeping up with the thread, hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday weekend. Glad to hear that you went to the docs HC, sorry the ADs are making you feel fuzzy, hope things start to improve for you soon. Good that things are going better with DD1 too .

Bit knackered and disheartened here, sleep went bandy again, still up 3 times a night . Also sometimes I feel a bit hacked off about breastfeeding. DS is backing off now, but still has around 5-6 feeds a day, as well as the odd one at night. All books/other mums I meet seem to be doing 3 tops. He's gradually getting into solids, loves to feed himself but let me spoon small amounts in. Yesterday he had baby curry, basically one spoon of curry (made by DH's fair hand) with lots of plain yogurt and rice. The main thing is that DS is such a gorgeous happy boy, learning new things all the time - it mostly makes up for it. He's crawling backwards now, will stand up against the sofa/my legs etc. We went for pub lunch with one of my best mates today. DS was sitting up in his highchair playing peekaboo with her. She tells me she's going to be his evil auntie and give him his first spliff when he's a teenager .

Would love to meet up with you lot, feels like we've been through so much together. I think the antenatal thread was my first posting experience.

SleepIsForTheWeak · 06/05/2007 21:01

hehe! Glad you changed your name!

Sorry the BF is tough, Maewest... maybe if he starts eating more food he will need fewer feeds? It might be worth not BFing him when you would before meals?

I stopped BF this weekend, feel quite sad about it.

Poor Sefton has had a couple of accidents these last few days: he is so confident pulling himself up and around, and every now and then mis-judges! So the poor lad has a few little bruises at the mo

I am dead keen for a NT meet up, but don't have a car so would have to be easy by rail if at all possible??? This is gonna be tricky!

agalch · 06/05/2007 22:02

Evening all

Did the most enormous post on Saturday morning and pc crashed so was very bloody annoyed.Have been a wee bit busy so on here now.

Hello new ladies.Numpty i also have 4 children.Mine have a fairly big age gap tho.15,11,2.8 and emmm whatever Eilidh is.About 9 months i think

Ooooh i don't think anyone should meet up cos me and Wallace can't come boohoo.Only joking obviously, but if you do take and post some pics!!!

Mae(((hugs))) Eilidh is still up through the night 3-4 time for a feed.It is bloody knackering but i think i am so used to getting by on no/very little sleep i am used to it now.Eilidh very rarely feeds in the day now but feeds 2x before bed and then through the night.

Have booked a holiday for October for us,my mum and dad and ds1's gf.We are going to Turkey.DH travelled there when he was young but we have never been so hope i like it.DH and i might even get out for a meal and a drink alone when we are there,

My diet is going ok,gained 2.5lbs the week before last but lost 3lbs this week.Have 17lbs to go.Don't know if i will ever get to my target or not, will continue to go to the gym and eat as healthily as poss as often as i can and see what happens.

KZ hope things are ok on Chillis patches, fingers crossed for you xx

HC glad the docs went well and hugs to you, hope you fel brighter soon xx

DD1 has said she want's to wear a feeding bra and have huge enormous nipples like mummy so she can feed Susie(her baby)and she also wants her ears peirced so she can be like me.Have said no to the ear peircing till shes at least at school and old enough to make an informed decision.

Oh and Eilidh still has no teeth.Tis amazing what she can eat with only gums lol.Who else has no teeth?? Please tell me she's not the last.

You'll be glad to know i am off now.Bet you are all bored to tears.Oh one last thing,DS2 didn't get the part and DS1 has done well(he says) in the exams so far.

Nite all xxx
