Blondes couldn't agree more . I am pretty firm but at times I have to give a feed as she seems starving and drains it (usually around 4am) I only give 4oz then she settles back down until breakfast . I would like her to go right through though .

Purple you should be really bloody proud of yourself doing that sleep training along with all the other difficulties you have had . Amazing !

MotherofA · 07/09/2017 10:28

Oh and I bought some plastic ones but she lifts them and rubs all over her face so I tend to use fabric and keep wiping with a muzzy .

coupester · 07/09/2017 11:04

I was wondering what bibs to get for weaning too.

DS has started making lots of noises when he has his bottles. Sounds a bit like he's straining. No idea what that's about.

Name I hope you're ok and getting some rest.

Well done on the sleep training everyone, I might have to try that for nap time in the hopes that he might then actually have some!

troodiedoo · 07/09/2017 11:37

I use cotton pop over ones from peacocks. Got given some plastic back ones but they make her head sweat loads.

NameChange30 · 07/09/2017 11:58

Thanks everyone for the advice and sympathy. Not getting much rest so far as DS only had a short nap earlier and screamed when I tried just now. Just having a short break and will try again.

I'm not doing any cooking or housework to be fair. Some lovely lovely friends brought us a couple of meals to reheat, and DH has done a bit of cooking, so we're managing. House is a mess but I don't have the energy to give a shit! I do have a few little errands to do before the holiday (preparing parcels and taking to PO, for example) laundry and of course the dreaded packing. But trying to do the minimum.

I did buy some weaning bits yesterday. Got a soft silicone bib with a bit at the bottom for catching food! It seems quite good and DS chewed it Hmm Tried him with some Ella's sweet potato this morning but he pulled a face and turned his head away when I tried giving a bit more. To be fair I tried it and it wasn't very tasty!

purpleviolet1 · 07/09/2017 12:11

Thanks mother it's been tough work but it's totally been worth it. I couldn't keep up with getting up 10-12 times a night. It was just about doable when I knew he was really uncomfortable and the allergy was at its peak but now that things are thankfully settling I couldn't carry on like that. I'm really prone to infections when I'm
Tired and ds needs a healthy mum!

Well done on getting a start on the weaning names, with everything
Else going on you are doing really well! Hope the time flies until your holiday and then dh can hopefully help relieve some of the pressure. Even if you didn't take any steps, things can't stay the same forever and bit by bit they will progress and one day we'll all look back and think did we really get through that Smile

Ahhhhh blondes she looks so cute !

Hugh that's amazing ! I went to the supermarket with my purse today 😂

I have discovered that as long as lo gets her long nap in the morning she's really content the rest of the day . If she doesn't that's when she's unsettled and screams a lot . When I get back from school she goes straight down and then sleeps until lunch ! The rest of her naps are usually 15-30 mins depending where we are .

She tried olives chopped up tiny tonight and chewed on a gherkin hahahaha (I made homemade burgers ) . She kept squeaking for more olive I couldn't believe it 🤣

Carolann8584 · 07/09/2017 19:18

Awww bless her mother she found something tasty

Carolann8584 · 07/09/2017 19:19

DD is fighting her bedtime tonight. Lots of shhhh shhh. Next doors kids aren't helping!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2017 19:49

Olives. Weird child 😂

@hugh sounds perfect. We are at ours Monday pm. Little old biddies make cake and serve us yes. Bliss 😍

Thanks about dd. She really is adorable tho crashed for bed at 6.10pm this evening. Was very wingy from 530 so milk at 6 and asleep in my arms ten mins later after downing 8oz

I'm working tonight so hope she doesn't wake up 6/630 instead of 730 ......

Carolann8584 · 07/09/2017 20:02

DDs throat sounds awful tonight. It seemed to ease off a bit for a while but now it sounds worse. Off to the docs in the morning I think

Carolann8584 · 07/09/2017 20:24

She keeps waking up. Calpol? Nurofen? And a feed? She's not had much formula today. She slept through last night so didn't have a 4-5am feed so only had 4 feeds so far today

coupester · 07/09/2017 20:25

Mother I'm amazed she liked olives but good on her!

Carol I hope DD gets her voice back soon!

I made a lovely dinner tonight. DH went to the shop so I had to give DS his bottle and put him to bed. Dinner boiled dry and burnt SadSadSad

Carolann8584 · 07/09/2017 20:26

Oh no coupe

purpleviolet1 · 07/09/2017 20:46

Wow mother !

Carol I would give nurofen as it'll be anti inflammatory. Offer a feed too she might need the hydration ?

purpleviolet1 · 07/09/2017 20:47

Oh coupester Sad takeaway??

OP posts:
MotherofA · 07/09/2017 21:13

That's so annoying coupester! Bless you what did you have in the end ?

Carol just what purple said really . Have you taken her temp ?

MotherofA · 07/09/2017 21:18

Haha every chance she's weird being mine 😂 . I kept waiting for her to pull that face they do when they hate something it looks so funny but she just kept squealing for more !

What size clothes are everyone's lo's in ? DD fits in 3-6 but her feet are at the end of the sleepsuits so I've just washed all the 6-9 I can't believe it 😩

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2017 21:40

Been in 6/9mths since 4mths 😳😳

Clothes should be done on weight. Not age - many of her say 6/9mth/21lbs

And some toos etc getting tight

That's probably what she weighs now

@carolann - Take temp and def give nurofen. It's better then calpol for pain and temp and agree offer milk if down on feeds

MotherofA · 07/09/2017 21:46

Ah bless her hehe!

Hope DD ok Carol Flowers

purpleviolet1 · 07/09/2017 21:47

Ds been in 6-9 babygros for a while and even they seem snug length wise now. I think they must shrink??

Anyone using dr brown options? Thinking of getting rid of the vent. Can't decide whether to give it a try.

OP posts:
coupester · 07/09/2017 22:13

Hubby somehow managed to salvage it - it still tasted slightly burnt but it was ok! This is why he always did all the cooking...

DS is a little shrimpy, he's in 3-6 stuff but we've still got a couple of 0-3 stuff that still fits! Mostly shorts as he's average height but below average weight.

Hope the nurofen helps DD Carol
