DD 6 months today. Loving her veg and porridge. So far we've only tried letting her feed herself twice once with cucumber sticks which was a success and with Ella's carrot and parsnip I'll just call them giant wotsits which she gave me a baby version of wtf face!! Think the different texture was a bit too much. She's having slightly bigger meals now for breakfast and tea. Not so much at lunch time.

She's suddenly started waking for a feed at 2:30 the past few days after having her DF at 10/11. She's going back to sleep straight after but still don't want it to become a habit

Carol
Happy half birthday to your DD!
MELTY PUFFS! DS has been eating the exact same ones. He loves them! They are literally the only thing he will happily eat without pulling a face Grin We are a bit concerned that the only food he seems to enjoy so far is basically crisps Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/09/2017 22:42

Happy half birthday @carolanne

Dd is def teething. Last night woke a few times - unheard of - and then pitiful crying which tore straight to my heart :(

Picked up imm as she never wakes /cries and snuggled into me. Would settle and fall asleep and back in travel cot then maybe wake 30m
Later and repeat

Nurofen and teething gel helped and finally settled at 330 and slept till 815 bless her

Often doesn't want her 11am bottle so may stop offering it once home. Will keep trying here as so bloody hot I want her to have fluids

Tho she's good at water drinking now

Happy half birthday to your DD @Carolann8584 !

I've come to the conclusion that when DS is tired then he's not interested in solids. And seeing as he's been avoiding his morning naps recently, he's not been that interested in weaning!

Quick question:

When/how do you introduce water? Do you give it after solids/during/at other times?

We had so much stress at the beginning with his weight but he also didn't poo for 11 days. The midwives said water can help to poo but because he wasn't putting on weight they didn't want him to have water incase it stopped him wanting milk, so we've never touched it!

coupester · 24/09/2017 00:23

It sounds like there's a lot of teething going on! I don't think DS has had much teething. He occasionally gets grizzly and has red spots on his cheeks but nothing too bad yet.

I hope all dcs have a good night tonight and teething doesn't unsettle them too much!

MotherofA · 24/09/2017 00:23

Happy half birthday to your DD Carol !

I just give water in a cup whenever she eats but will offer more as she gets older .

Carolann8584 · 24/09/2017 02:06

I offer DD water after her meals, she has a couple of sips that's it

Didn't offer df she woke at 1:30 had 4oz

purpleviolet1 · 24/09/2017 09:40

@HughLauriesStubble not heard from you inn couple of days hope you are well!

I offer sips of water during meals and he loves it. But I don't offer too much as I still want him to drink milk.

Happy half birthday @Carolann8584

Tell me about these melty puffs, I've not seen them anywhere?

We also have tomato and leek flavour but haven't tried those yet. And there are fruity ones too but that seems a bit weird to me!
You can get them in supermarkets and Boots.

Got an cream containing antibiotic steroid to apply over the
BCG blister. Said he didn't think it looked particularly terrible but to keep on with calpol nurofen for the fever as he could be fighting a viral as well

*busy lol

purpleviolet1 · 24/09/2017 21:31

Aw she's gorgeous carol!

So ds had a snotty nose. Seems like he is definitely under the weather today. We went out for dinner and because he overslept during the day he managed to stay up whilst we were out and loved all the attention he got. This lovely group held him whilst we ate and he was lapping it all up Smile

All in all a nice day. Just hope he's ok tomorrow. Really keep meaning to buy that calpol vapour plug thing. I've got some snuffle babe for tonight anyway.

Thanks all for the well wishes
