@purpleviolet1 every time I've had frequent nappy leaks I've tried going up a nappy size and they seem to stop so worth a try! I've no advice re eczema but I hope it clears up soon.

@Carolann8584 sounds like a successful night, 👍

@troodiedoo have fun at music group! I think I'd like to try something like that. Will have to keep an eye out.

@Blondeshavemorefun have fun today, I bet the oldies love seeing your DD!

@MotherofA hope you dry off soon!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2017 09:53

@coup they love her and dd loves attention so win win

Def go up a size. We use Lidl nappies and fab. Do last 13hrs as long as no feed if not then pampers 12hrs are good for wee

Glorious sunshine here today 🌞🌞🌞

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 09:55

Thanks coupe my little rolling chunky bum is ready for shopping now. Watched her do a roll from back to belly and head to toe spin then went in a got her. She loves that she can move so much in her cot even in her sleeping bag. This weekend she will start spending nights on her cot 😭😭😭😢 she's getting so big

purpleviolet1 · 15/09/2017 12:39

Sounds good!

Coupester sounds lovely. I bought a family photoshoot for Father's Day and it runs out in October.

Aww carol I know! We want for a walk to the local shops this morning. Ds went for nap as soon as we got in (at 12) and I've just climbed into bed as well......

MotherofA · 15/09/2017 13:21

That's good coupester, I love the look of photo shoots but have never had them done.

How is everyone's day ? I feel very tired today and haven't done much bar the necessities !

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 13:51

DDs husky voice is back and it's brought a like cough with it 😢

Just given her some Calpol and she is currently in dreamland after having a 6oz bottle! She has NEVER had a full bottle in the day Grin

For those who are weaning have you noticed your LOs trumping a lot more. DD is such a lady about it (!) So lifts both her legs up and let's out a trumpet if she's lying down 😂

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 13:51

*little cough not like cough

coupester · 15/09/2017 14:20

I don't think DS wants his photo shoot on Sunday - he's just scratched down the side of his nose! It looks nasty but he's not bothered. I tried to take a photo to show you all but he wouldn't let me!

coupester · 15/09/2017 14:21

Tried DS on some baby porridge earlier as we had some leftover milk. It went about as well as yesterday's carrot - went in his mouth then came straight back out again!

purpleviolet1 · 15/09/2017 15:18

@Carolann8584 yes we have been trumping even more than usual since starting solids!

@MotherofA. I feel so lethargic as well. Told dh I can't be bothered cooking tea so he is going to arrange a takeaway. Last one for a while as we are hoping to start the 8 week blood sugar diet! Dh has diabetes and I had gestational diabetes - he asked me to join him as he could do with the support. Bought the recipe book and it looks pretty reasonable..famous last words...

@Blondeshavemorefun We only bought the size 3 nappies again (we were using size 4) because of the dirty nappies leaking when he went first thing in the morning! So now moving back to size 4.

DS didn't like dream feeds before , used to get all flustered and angry. He didn't mind being woken up properly for it though. What do you recommend I try this time?

OP posts:
troodiedoo · 15/09/2017 17:36

Ha I was going to ask you guys about trumping, dd is going off like a rocket!

Good luck with the diet @purple I keep meaning to get back on the low carb wagon. Do like the blood sugar diet. Planning ahead is key.

purpleviolet1 · 15/09/2017 17:55

Yes it's really smelly trumping as well...

I've never followed a diet before troodie the thought of restriction has always put me off but quite looking forward to it! Absolutely sick of meal planning but I bet I'll soon be sick of eating rabbit food I'm back to pre pregnancy weight but I am definitely wobbly and could do with losing about a stone anyway

Well I've had a good cry tonight. DD first night in her room. Didn't think I'd cry but it just hit me as I watched her nod off

purpleviolet1 · 15/09/2017 19:50

Aww @Carolann8584 Brew

DS is 6 months today can't believe how time has flown! I feel sad also but it's been such a rollercoaster that I'm making the most of enjoying him now

Going to attempt the dreamfeed will keep you posted

Will catch up properly later but just wanted to say happy half birthday to your DS purple Smile and OMG THE FARTS!! We haven't even been giving DS solids every day and when he does eat anything it's a tiny amount, but he's been doing endless stinky violent farts. We keep changing his nappy thinking he's done a poo but no, just a really stinky fart that seems to linger! Hmm

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 20:14

DD has been having porridge for breakfast and veg for tea for the past week. She now has a morning and afternoon poo. The one in the afternoon smells the most just like her trumps.

coupester · 15/09/2017 22:24

Happy half birthday purples DS!

And Flowers to you Carol. It gets easier, I promise! I was so nervous when DS went into his own room - I wasn't ready for him to be away from me! But I slept in the room next door for a few nights, just in case, and that helped make it a bit more of a gradual change.

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 22:35

Oh there is just a wall between us.

Had another well up when I went it to our room a saw the empty Moses basket 😢

She's woken once for her dummy that's it so far. I went in to check to see if she was warm enough before think I will need to put a blanket on her later. Should have tucked one in at her feet before I put her to bed then I could have just covered her with it

Carolann8584 · 15/09/2017 22:53

For those who have moved LOs into their cots, what have you done with your Moses? Take it to a second hand baby shop? Can you use a pre owned Moses?

coupester · 15/09/2017 23:09

Mine is still next to me! I don't know what to do with it either.

Carolann8584 · 16/09/2017 01:52

Does anyone DP still wake your LOs up by talking to them during a df? My OH always does. No matter how many times I say don't talk to her he still does. Then swans off to bed so I can settle her 😠

purpleviolet1 · 16/09/2017 03:08

Did an extra feed at 10 and he took 5oz - he has still woken up though but I've just let him resettle. I assume
He can't really be genuinely hungry, he's had an extra feed and if I fed him now it would definitely put him off his breakfast. Looks like he has just settled - but it's taken a full half an hour.

Any advice?? I want him to take enough during the day (he doesn't have full feeds during the day). I was about to offer him cooled boiled water but hopefully that's him back to sleep now...

troodiedoo · 16/09/2017 04:07

I got my moses basket from a charity shop for £12 and have just given it to sil who is due any day. She's got a new mattress for it but I didn't get one. It looked pretty new to me.

They seem to pop up on Facebook marketplace quite a lot.

Oh no @carol you have a dh problem there!

troodiedoo · 16/09/2017 04:09

Well done for settling without feeding @purple!

purpleviolet1 · 16/09/2017 06:24

Thanks troodie but I can't decide if it was genuine hunger or not, he did a couple of crying sounds at 4am, but by the time I decided to go to him he had nodded off. And then did it again just now and I've just fed him. He was extremely happy to see me and the milk bottle lol and had all the 6oz (with a few attempts as he started playing in between).

He's never really cried during the night now for ages, but did cry during the 30min settling time and then the crying sounds at 4am and now. That makes me think he might be hungry and I should've fed him straight away.
Or maybe I should've offered water?

I'll offer 7oz bottles today and try and get more milk into him around the clock and dream feed and see how we go tonight.

Any advice welcome!
