Oh no coupester, hope you are ok !

My DD also lost lots of birthweight and has stayed small since (exactly like my first DD) . This is why I didn't get her weighed for a while also as I didn't want to become anxious when I know really she is fine!

Yay keeping her up later worked ! She never woke at 10/11 and didn't wake today until 5.30 so I gave her 7oz which she drained. Now back to sleep . Progress Smile

coupester · 12/09/2017 07:53

I'm ok thank you mother, just a bit tired this morning!

DS helped me open my presents from my sister; he enjoyed playing with a strip of paper he'd ripped off and I enjoyed my new presents Grin

Carolann8584 · 12/09/2017 08:12

Nice progress mother

Enjoy your day coupe

troodiedoo · 12/09/2017 08:19

Morning all 😊 wishing you a pleasant day. We are going swimming today. Does anyone have any of the many floatation devices you can buy? Are they worth investing?

Carolann8584 · 12/09/2017 08:23

We just have a ring with a seat in it.

At our baby splash class we were encouraged not to use the ring so DD gets to feel the water more and learns to move her arms and legs in the water also encouraged to put her head under the water so she's not scared of it. In the ring she can move her legs or reach the water with her arms. We've only tried her under water once and she must have swallowed half the pool lol

Carolann8584 · 12/09/2017 08:24

In the ring she can't move her legs...

Carolann8584 · 12/09/2017 08:25

Heres the ring...

DD definitely not hungry this morning. Barely an ounce of formula and only had half her porridge. She had 3 spoonfuls of mix yesterday so gave her 4 today and she's left half Hmm

troodiedoo · 12/09/2017 08:44

Thanks @carol. I've heard people say about the dunking! Shock

When we last went it was summer hols so she did get splashed loads by other kids.

MotherofA · 12/09/2017 09:18

We have a zoggs ring which we used on holiday . Haven't taken her at home yet Blush keep saying we will every week !
It's easier having a ring imo .

Have a great day coupester Smile

Happy birthday coupester
Nothing much happening with me, the twins sleeping has improved so much. I feed them 7.30/8pm and give them a dream feed at midnight, ds can sleep through till 7am. Dd normally needs another feed at 2am, but she now wakes at 5.30am she doesn't need feeding but chats to herself for close to 2 hours, anyone know how I can make her sleep longer? Thankfully she doesn't wake her brother up.

Their naps during the day are not great, any tips on what to do there?

We are finally introducing solids this weekend, we've bought the ikea chairs. I'm looking forward to seeing how they will take to food

Do any go to any baby classes? I was going to sign up for baby sensory but not sure if it its a waste of money.

purpleviolet1 · 12/09/2017 10:02

Ah that's lovely @Carolann8584 !

Thanks @MotherofA think I will. Thanks @coupester it does sound like some sort of imbalance doesn't it, getting back to a new normal after pregnancy but I also suspect stress of moving and ds's issues hasn't helped.

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun that's really helpful. Any reason why you tend to do milk first before solids throughout the day? Just curious.

@coupester happy birthday!!! Hope you have a brilliant day that made me laugh about the wee mishap, reminded me of the time ds wee'd in the bath THREE times. Every time I was emptying and filling up new water I was so as there was only a minute or so between each pee! It was quite early on and my back was done in lol

@troodiedoo I'm scared of dunking! Dh took ds once and he just held him and floated him about. He didn't like it first but then started enjoying it. He was sooo sleepy after !

@Abacha great that you are getting some sleep. Do you settle them or can they nod off themselves? I've read that if you can get them to sleep by any means for 5 days at the same time, then their body clock adjusts and it's easier to settle them for naps in their cot or wherever you want them. So for example you could go for walks at the times you want them to nap everyday at the same time. I think this did work for ds.

DS had a brilliant night. Down at 7.10pm and didn't wake up until 6am Grin

That's amazing purple ! I bet you feel as fresh as a daisy !

purpleviolet1 · 12/09/2017 16:38

Thanks mother!

Unfortunately I'm feeling pretty rubbish. Getting cramps and really bad lower back ache. Spoke to doc as I suffer from recurrent uti's but nothing came up in my urine apart from blood. I suspect I'm either just having a crazy period (late initially, then spotting for days, then bit heavier, then nothing and then spotting/light flow) or I have conceived and it's been a very early chemical loss. Seems weird but the type of pain is reminding me of my miscarriages. Not sure how I feel about that but we aren't TTC so I think I'm ok mentally.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2017 16:54

@coup happy birthday

@purple, i give solids after milk as they are added to her diet, still want her to have milk, tho she has less now, milk was 730 1130 330 630/7 and now food is 8ish 12ish 4/5

and yah for ds sleeping

if starving she wont eat solids and gets in a state, so give milk first

@abacha, thats fab ds is sleeping tho from df, enjoy ikea chairs :)

baby classes we do M&T mon pm and wed am, gymboree thur am and fri music - free at sure start centre

all ssc do free activites/meets and well worth going

troodiedoo · 12/09/2017 17:35

Happy birthday @coupester

@purple Flowers hope you feel better soon.

After having mixed results with feeding, we've switched to offering food about an hour after milk. Much better, thanks for the tip!

MotherofA · 12/09/2017 23:07

Oh no purple sorry to hear that . Glad you spoke to the doctor . How are you feeling now ?

purpleviolet1 · 12/09/2017 23:09

Still having strong crampy pain and spotting type of bleeding. All very strange. Had a relaxing evening in bed though with heat pad, painkillers, the telly and mumsnet Smile

Ah bless you that's not nice purple Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2017 23:55

@trudie glad food after milk is helping making it easier

Eventually the milk will be cut out so makes more sense to seem good at mealtimes then add milk

coupester · 13/09/2017 06:58

Morning! Thank you for the birthday wishes! I did get a little present from DS in the end.

@purpleviolet1 glad you spoke to your doctor, hope you feel better soon.

Re the swimming, we don't use any inflatables but we go to lessons. The swim teacher said she doesn't just dunk them, she waits until baby and parent look ready. Babies are meant to copy you unless you're my child so if you start by putting your mouth in the water and blowing bubbles then your child might copy.

purpleviolet1 · 13/09/2017 09:12

Thanks all. I thought I had scared everyone away yesterday!

Aw glad you got a present @coupester

That's true @Blondeshavemorefun.
