I don't think it's necessary really but I was curious . As long as she is eating lots and gaining even if it is slow . I might go back in a month she says this now haha .

Carolann8584 · 11/09/2017 19:54

I've been taking DD monthly just because I don't think she eats enough. Never has the reccommended amounts. I know each baby is different and it's just a guide given on the formula packet. I just like to see how much she's gained if anything.

NameChange30 · 11/09/2017 20:15

Evening all, just catching up!

Thanks for the birthday wishes and the solidarity about DH messing up DS's nap yesterday. I explained why it was a problem and he apologised so I got over it! We got his naps back to the usual (semi flexible) routine today which was good. As for the holiday... it's been raining on and off and the forecast is bad for the rest of the week. I'm really disappointed but trying to see the positive side - it's lovely spending quality time with PILs, as they haven't seen DS much since he was born. Just a shame we had to go to a rainy campsite to achieve it! Grin

@purpleviolet1
Well done for surviving the wedding!
Which link did you want me to post again - this one??

coupester
Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I think most some men need things spelling out to them and you have to actually tell them what you want in advance or they will never think of it! Anyway I'm glad you told him you were disappointed, and hope he makes a fuss of you tomorrow.
I was a bit disappointed with my Mother's Day present from DH (and I got him really good Father's Day presents if I say so myself Wink) so I might have to drop some hints or just make an outright request next year!

Hugh
I was dreading weaning, it felt like a big faff and I didn't have the energy for it, but we have started - not in a very organised or systematic way, just randomly giving purée or finger food when we get chance, and it's quite fun seeing how DS reacts Grin So maybe you'll enjoy it when you start? If I remember rightly you already have DCs (?) so at least you know what you're doing, unlike us!

Carol
Glad you got the electricity back, must be a relief! Hope it stays on.

MotherofA · 11/09/2017 20:42

What does she weigh Carol try not to worry. Mind you I only say this because I had it all with my big girl ! HV told me to stop bf at 3 months because she was too light so I moved on to ff and she still stayed tiny ! Just the way some babies are . It is partly why I weaned them both early on though (although 4 months was normal ten years ago ) .

Happy Birthday to all who have birthdays this week!

Carolann8584 · 11/09/2017 20:56

At 5 months she was 15lb 13oz which was good. HV said nothing to worry about, she on track etc. Doesn't stop me worrying she's my first and last so......

DD has got the hang of the meals she's had so far. I gave her the spoon when she had finished she seemed to know what to do Grin

Cauliflower for tea tomorrow. Mmmmm love a bit of cauli

Carolann8584 · 11/09/2017 21:35

DD just woke for feed, had 5oz. Bit early but might squeeze another one in later Grin

Look at those eyes and lashes!!! Beautiful.

Haha no buttons.

We got out some vhs to show my DSSs what we use to watch before dvds and sky on demand lol

I was told there's a sale on clothes at asda on Thursday don't know if that was just the one near me or if it's company wide. I wouldn't be able to go Thursday so had to get today

purpleviolet1 · 11/09/2017 22:17

@Carolann8584 glad it's resolved!

@coupester not sounding like a brat at all.

@MotherofA aww bless her wee soul! It's great that she's eating lots though.

@Carolann8584 that's understandable. Ds was comfort eating before with the reflux but isn't having the recommended now but I think this is perhaps his norm and I never realised how badly he was comfort eating, if that makes sense. Trying not to be obsessive but everyday I tot up his oz

@NameChange30 You sound more like yourself today glad you are enjoying yourself a little more and hopefully the rain will ease off! Yes that's the article! I'll read now.

@Carolann8584 If you don't mind me asking, why your first and last? She is lovely! Whose eyes does she have??

@HughLauriesStubble aw she is lovely!!! Are your older two a ds and dd?

TMI alert. Strange one but I've had a very strange period. They've been pretty normal since the birth except last month I felt it took a few days to start properly. This month it took a good few days to start properly (was spotting for what seemed like days) and I thought I finished on day 7/8. it's day 10 today and I've got some spotting again 😕 I've always been like clockwork so feeling a bit worried. anyone experienced anything similar?

Oooo ds been in 6-9 babygros for ages but everything else in 3-6 months. I tried one 6-9 month outfit on, a ted baker dungaree set which was a gift and that fitted fine but everything else he has seems a bit big. I best keep checking regularly as sometimes you don't notice them
Growing do you!

Not at all purple my OH and I discussed having children early on in our relationship as he already had 2 boys and he said if he was to have anymore he would only want 1 ( of course no control over twins etc) I'm happy with my little princess plus I've been a stepmum to my DSSs since one was 2 and the other 9 months old so they are like my own.

Carolann8584 · 11/09/2017 22:37

purple not TMI Smile I'm still not back to my normal flow/cycle

MotherofA · 11/09/2017 22:38

Purple no , perhaps you should see the gp about that to be safe ?

Hugh & Carol the pics are so beautiful bless them both .

I totally get what you mean Hugh about wanting to keep her little . I feel like that , I rushed my first and didn't enjoy the first months properly. DD1 also didn't get any chub until she was two and now she's back to being very lean and muscular !

Carolann8584 · 11/09/2017 22:39

Oh her eyes look darker on that pic they are quite a light blue which she gets off her DF the rest she gets off me (as well as the fuzzy hair lol)

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/09/2017 22:41

@coup - my bday was July and I would have been really sad if dd hasn't got me a pressie. Luckily df knew this and he /dd brought me a mummy mug with her pic - blown up fab photo as canvas - best mummy teddy and mummy cards

So no you are silly - hope your dh gets something

@purple / I batch cook a veg a day and purée with hand blender from Argos (had a tommee yippee and crap) 🙄and freeze into pots then decant into freezer bags

Routine

mixed into porridge which she has 15mins later

7 bed

coupester · 11/09/2017 23:05

Thanks all for reassuring me I'm not being unreasonable in wanting a present from DS!

@purpleviolet1 not TMI. My Dr put me back on cerazette and I've been on it for three months. I keep getting spotting for a couple of weeks each month and I never used to when I was on it before DS. My GP said today that I have a completely different womb to before DS so that's why I'm reacting differently. Maybe that's similar to why your periods are being different?

@Carolann8584 & @HughLauriesStubble what gorgeous photos!

@MotherofA she's probably about the same weight as my DS! He's always been on the lower centiles weight-wise and I think he's probably only 15lb now at most!

Just had a bit of a traumatic nappy change. Woke DS to change nappy before final bottle, was putting clean nappy on when he peed. He then peed about 3 or 4 times as I was trying to change him! He ended up soaked, I had to strip him (luckily had already got sleeping bag off) he started bawling really loudly, my knees are now soaked in wee and we probably woke daddy up! Worst wee mishap we've ever had!!

MotherofA · 11/09/2017 23:06

Managed to keep DD up until just after 7 and she had 6oz so hopefully she won't miss the 10-11 feed tonight .

MotherofA · 11/09/2017 23:09

Ahhhh that's reassuring coupester ! They are all so different hey bless them !

coupester · 11/09/2017 23:48

And now I'm on my hands and knees cleaning up blood from the kitchen, hallway and lounge, thanks to one of the dogs.

I now have wee on my jeans and blood on my socks 😢

I don't think I was meant to go to bed tonight 😩

coupester · 11/09/2017 23:52

@MotherofA we had such an issue with the midwives when he was born as he lost too much of his birth weight and they were obsessed with his weight. We actually complained because they were upsetting me and that probably affected my milk!

Then my HV came along who was sensible and pointed out that me and DH aren't big so DS was never going to be huge. We've never worried about his weight since as he's happy and it keeps increasing, which is the main thing!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2017 00:30

As long as gain weight and stick to the line they were born /month after then no need to worry

Dd is/was on the 95th 😳 If there was one but going back to 91st

All babies are diff

Periods - also on cerezette and first few months I bleed here and there

Now on 5th packet and evened out
