Happy birthday to all the April babies!

Thanks

I have blood tests tomorrow to see if I am growing any eggs (hopefully)

dd is being very how can I put this 'imaginative' lately. She has been super opinionated about clothes for a while but lately she just tunes out, doesn't hear/listen and keeps going with whatever she is doing and ignores you. She asked at the dinner table two nights ago 'what would happen if an octopus met a hippo?'

LucyJones · 03/07/2007 19:42

Hi Chuffed, how did it go yesterday? xxx

Chuffed · 08/07/2007 10:58

One follicle growing, another one looks like it might come through which should increase the odds a little.
Off for another scan tomorrow hopefully they have both grown.

How are you all coping with the rain? It just hasn't seemed to stop here but then I suppose we are in winter. Managed to get to the zoo today. We haven't been for ages and the kids enjoyed it. Both of them fed the giraffe. Normally dd is a bit 'scared' but she seems to have gained some confidence.

hewlettsdaughter · 11/07/2007 20:17

Sounds promising Chuffed? How was the last scan? The weather has not been so bad here the last few days - though some areas of the UK have had a bad time recently (I guess you've heard).

There seems to be a pattern re our three year olds - they are all either strong-willed/insistent/super-opinionated

Chuffed · 12/07/2007 10:23

Well I grew 2 follicles big enough for them to release so we have a 12hrly schedule now for 48hrs.

Off snowboarding for the weekend childless so that will be fun. Hopefully the weather will be good.

Now comes the hideous 14day wait. [hmmm]

Totally agree with the "either strong-willed/insistent/super-opinionated" 3yr olds.

I am trying to focus on 'kindness' at the moment though as a virtue and how important it is etc etc. If she is going to be strong willed, opinionated etc she can at least be kind hearted with it.

Tickle · 12/07/2007 22:27

well done chuffed on the follicle front Have fun trying

LucyJones · 13/07/2007 12:06

hope you have a lovely break Chuffed and something productive comes out of it
We're coping with the rain by going to all the Mother and Toddler groups because they are so cheap and wearing wellies and coats to the park!

fennel · 13/07/2007 21:20

Good luck Chuffed.

dd3 is joining the others in strong-willed traits, she's getting more stroppy and screamy by the day. I go round muttering things like "full time nursery" and "when can they start school?"

LucyJones · 31/07/2007 09:49

hope it's all going ok Chuffed
Ds is a real live wire at the moment,
Jumping all over th furniture etc. Thank goodness it's getting sunnier so he can burn off some energy outside.

Chuffed · 01/08/2007 00:20

Bad news for us
On Friday I had a positive blood test but they were worried as the levels were really low. Lost it on Monday night (at 3wks) so I'll now have to be a human pin cushion for another cycle.

tracyk · 01/08/2007 10:48

Aw - sorry to hear that Chuffed. Fingers crossed for the next time.

LucyJones · 02/08/2007 09:19

Oh no, really sorry to hear that Chuffed
I too will keep my fingers crossed for the next cycle. I think you're incredibly brave abd ou always come across as a very strong person {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} Lucy xxxx

Chuffed · 03/08/2007 07:59

Thanks so much.

We start cycle number 2 tonight so hopefully in about 18days will have another follicle or two.
I can't imagine going through IVF. It might be just me but this seems so much easier in that the cycles are about a month, and it isn't really invasive. Just some help at the beginning so to speak.
I'm not even thinking that this won't work, 1x = 1 positive so this time it has to stay [hmmm].
Hope all is well with you all.

LucyJones · 09/08/2007 13:30

Well we're al sending you positive vibes so fingers crossed xxxx

How are everyone's 3 year olds doing now?
My ds is getting increasingly more whiny as the days go on
he also never stops talign which is taking a bit of getting used to as he took ages to talk
He also gets tired a lot if we do too much so becomes very tantrummy - dh loses his patience when he starts crying at bedtime because his socks have been put in the wash basket Is everyone else going through this or am I the only one?!!

Chuffed · 10/08/2007 22:15

Oh yes LJ, wingy, tantrumy, she has lost her whole dress up box today as she just WOULDN't go to bed last night.

Oh and the talking just never stops, it can be soooo wearing.

I was going to ask you actually ds isn't talking much, he sort of screeches, lets his needs be known somehow but hardly any talking at all yet he can follow really complex instructions etc.
It is all a bit strange dd had so many words at the same age. When did your ds start really using words was it around 2ish?

Hope all is well - hopefully the weather will hold out for us this weekend and we can have some fun.

tracyk · 13/08/2007 18:43

Is it not more common for subsequent babies to be later for walking/talking etc than the first. My ds started talking really well at 20 mo ish when he moved up a class at nursery to be with older children.
ds favourite word this weather is NO! followed by a foot stamp. He's driving me and dh nuts!

Chuffed · 31/08/2007 09:55

Well my news is sort of good and a bit ???
We have just finished another fertility cycle and when I went in to have a blood test last week to check my progesterone levels I snuck a tick onto the sheet for a preg test as well in case it showed up early. Well it came back POS but they are worried about the levels again as they are low. The thing is it was only 1.5wks since I ovulated so I'll know on Monday if the levels are increasing as I'm due another test. I HATE WAITING!
We had three awesome follicles so hopefully one of them has taken well.

Kids are well but I am finding dd's tantrums very testing, they are soooo much worse than the two's and it is like she is a teenager.

Well that is it for us will keep you updated.

hewlettsdaughter · 31/08/2007 21:50

Ooh Chuffed, fingers crossed

DD has terrible tantrums when she's tired - won't do anything we tell her and just wails, wriggles out of our arms etc. Once we realise it's because she's tired and stop trying to reason with her it gets a little better. It's still hard tho'!

tracyk · 04/09/2007 12:59

Any news Chuffed? Here's hoping for you..
ds also has his tantrums - but same as you HD - usually only when dog tired. DH does try and reason with him - only to realise too late that it's not going to work!

Chuffed · 12/09/2007 02:08

Well we have some well and truly +++++ news. Now 5 weeks , have an 8wk scan booked and pregnancy hormone levels are continuing to multiply nicely apparently.

Feeling fine so far touch wood. Hoping that it'll be fine, no probs this time around like with dd.

We have had 2 good days in a row for behaviour, I'm trying to set expectations, what we are going to do, times etc and give notice and repurcussions if not followed and it seems to be working quite well.

Will check in later when I have any more news

hewlettsdaughter · 13/09/2007 18:55

Chuffed that's great . I shall keep my fingers crossed - hope that everything goes ok!

Fennel · 18/09/2007 09:37

Chuffed, that's great news

I think you'll have about the same age gaps we have.

dd3 went through a very stroppy tantrummy phase a month or two ago but seems a lot calmer now. All mine behave better in term time though, school and pre-school seem to really work for them.

Chuffed · 25/09/2007 01:44

Well I have news...

Went for the 7.5wk scan today and we have 3 heartbeats, so it is likely I won't carry all to term but yes triplets

Fennel · 25/09/2007 14:27

That really would be a shock. How are you feeling?

Chuffed · 25/09/2007 21:08

nauseous but ok. we sort of expected twins but didn't expect the third heartbeat.

We explained to dd that Mummy was going to have another baby about a week ago and asked her what she would like and funnily enough she said that she wanted 2 sisters and a brother and this has continued and she has played 3 babies in her tummy a couple of times.
She seems to be the only one that has predicted this. The logistics of three are just so much harder than twins. [hmmm]
