Hope all your Christmas/ Holiday Season stuff went well.
Ours was great, very relaxed and the kids were great, they wanted to open and play with every single present before going to the next one which of course you can't really do.
I was taken into hosp on 29/12 with appendicitis and had to have my appendix out which has taken me back to helpless. Couldn't drive, stay on my feet for long, kids watching dvd's in bed with me which I had naps.
Then just as I was starting to feel a bit more human my wound got infected and I have just been discharged today after another 2 days in hosp having 1/2 reopened, drained etc so not quite back to where I was but my beautiful relaxing summer may not be quite so.

Kids are good, they have been swell during it all, totally adaptable, helpful etc. dd has really started to mature and use lovely manners etc. Nana fell asleep while trying to get ds to have a nap and dd tidied up her house, put all the toys away, cleaned up the floor etc. Then when Nana(MIL) woke up she said something like well we must get things cleaned up dd was like I've already done that Nana while you were sleeping.
We are still having a few meltdowns but I think we probably always will like me she likes to get her way.

Hope you are all well.

Have updated my photos on my profile as well if anyone wants a nosey.

hewlettsdaughter · 17/01/2008 22:18

Chuffed - hope you are fully recovered from your op now. Was it more complicated because of being pregnant? Love the bump on your profile page!

LucyJones · 20/01/2008 15:18

Hi again everyone
Chuffed what lovely photos - your dd is growing up to be so beautiful
And congrats on the 3 princesses but at the thought of 4 teenage girls!! Hope dh is practising his 'just you wait til you get home young lady' and 'he's not good enough for you' speeches not to mention 4 father of the bride speeches

Ds is starting reception in September. We find out what school he will go to at the end of March, feeling very nervous already. Trying to prepare him now by making sure he knows how to put his shoes on etc but 4 and a half seems so little to go!

Dd is now 16 months and alittle bundle of joy except when her big bro takes whatever toy she wants off her

TracyK · 22/01/2008 12:05

Poor you Chuffed - hope you're feeling better now.
We had a fab Xmas - apart from me having toncillitus. ds had a whale of a time - visiting cousins/dgp's/friends every day. Routine went out the window and he lived on milk and chocolate - but had a great time.
We're all on healthy food kicks now - hard trying to cut down ds unhealthy habit - 'treats' are not seen as 'treats' anymore - but part of his daily diet!

LucyJones · 26/01/2008 12:59

it is hard isn't TracyK, getting back into a routine.
Ds keeps asking me whne he's seeing the grandparents next and is now telling me what he wants for his b/day already!!

TracyK · 28/01/2008 11:36

we still have to play xmas cd's in the car - ds just loves them. And yes- he's gearing up for his birthday too. Luckily I had bought too much for Xmas and put some to the side to give at Birthday time - so don't have to buy anything for him Well apart from all the 'bargains' I keep seeing!

Chuffed · 31/01/2008 03:46

Recovering well now. Almost finished with the nurses coming to change dressings thank goodness.

I am getting huge, will try to get another bump photo up but I am now bigger than I was at term with dd and ds and the consultant wants me to try for 10more weeks

We have organised dd's birthday party already and she is very excited. I'm not normally so organised but as I might not even be there we have to try to do something easy/organised. She is having a gymnastics party. We get 2 instructors (plus the kids invited parents) and they spend an hour in the gym by themselves (it is a proper one with sprung floor and all) doing obstacle courses/gymnastic stuff then they go into a little room where we set some food/ drink out, cut the cake, they go home.
It is the sort of thing mums, mil and dh's can do without me if I'm in hospital or something. As for what she wants, a holiday as she is really into Egypt at the moment and would love to go and see the pyramids ...like that is going to happen anytime soon.

Hearing you guys talk about school - I think 4 is too young personally [ducks down in chair]. I would like to send dd when she is six after a year in some sort of foreign language immersion playgroup but am having trouble finding something like that here.

Anyway enough of my nattering - take care everyone!

LucyJones · 06/02/2008 20:32

wow your gymnastics party sounds great

yes agree 4 seems so so young to be sending ds to school

I keep thinking of all the things I need to teach him before he starts school - how to do up his own coat and shoes, how to wipe his own bottom

TracyK · 22/02/2008 16:50

ds misses the cutoff for school by a week - so he'll be 5.5 by the time he starts. Am quite glad really - but am worried about how he'll be when his little friends all go to school and leave him at nursery. Plus I'm sure he'll get bored with nursery now as it seems so babyish. He's v. tall for his age too - so physically I think he'll feel a bit claustraphobic there.

LucyJones · 11/03/2008 18:42

yes ds is very tall for his age so everyone always expects him to know more than he does!

Haven't been on this thread in ages either, but bump into Chuffed on the Jan 06 thread!

DD2 is a sparkly bundle of energy, who enjoys winding people round her little finger (especially her danish granny & grandpa who live down the road) She still sucks her thumb, and twiddles her hair in her fingers when she is tired or deep in thought - and has started to pull bits out, so I have had to give her a short 'elfin' haircut

Enjoy all the fourth birthdays everyone!

T x

Chuffed · 20/03/2008 08:08

We have our triplets!!!

Born 19th March at around 12.30pm at 32w 3d.
Mischa Grace 1.75kg
Reese Sofia 1.67kg
Tasmin Jade 1.72kg

They are all doing really well, breathing on their own today and dh and I got some skin to skin cuddles which was lovely.

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/03/2008 08:10

If they were born in 2004, wouldn't they be 4 now??

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 20/03/2008 08:11
