TheBlonde · 26/03/2007 22:34

BallsOfChocolate - she looks like a newborn, blonde and will probably stay that way
Heritage is UK / Sweden

I promise to read all the suggestions in the morning, but must go to bed now in advance of the nightwakings

TheBlonde - Your beautiful little girl's name is Aurora. It comes from the Roman goddess of the dawn which of course is the birth of the day and is associated with the northern lights which are mainly seen in the nordic countries. I don't think it lends itself well to nicknames but she will always be at the front of any alphabetical list!

PippiLangstrump · 26/03/2007 22:59

aurora is lovely

Ellbell · 26/03/2007 23:07

But her friends will think you've named her after Princess Aurora in Disney's Sleeping Beauty, which might not be quite what you're after... (though she'll be popular with other little girls from the ages of about 3 to 7 )

willywonkasegghunt · 26/03/2007 23:11

I love Amelie but couldn't have a girl's name beginning with A as it wouldn't work well with the surname >

violetsmum · 26/03/2007 23:12

Violet, Violet and Violet

oh, congratulations by the way - take your time over the naming and make sure you get the name you REALLY love

Er, all names have assocations of one kind or another don't they? I think Roman goddesses completely trounce Disney princesses anyday.

Aero · 26/03/2007 23:40

I knew a girl called Sigrid many years ago. Does that fit into Northern European girls names? I rather liked it.

Traditional names I like are Elizabeth, Katherine, Emma, Adeline, Ava, Maura, Anna, Fiona etc.

BallsOfChocolate · 26/03/2007 23:42

But she's called Aurora! (Actually Aero is quite good too..)
