Ellen?

[Nearly convinced someone to go for Ellen a few months ago. It's N. European, simple, easy to spell, unusual but not poncey.]

I think kitty could be a Lady

it would be a pet family type name for Lady Katherine.

Katherine and Kitty very nice.

I love Agnes.

But fear I'm alone in this.

A 'pure' and 'simple' type name.

Elegant in it's simplicity, in my(possibly unique) opinion.

lucy5 · 26/03/2007 22:16

I like Emma.

I picked both my dc's names by imagining them at a nice bar in their twenties and when a nice gentlemsn/lady asks their name and they say 'Hello i'm ----' and if this sounds good then it's a keeper.

Harriot

Seonnaid(Gaelic for Janet)

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 26/03/2007 22:21

How do you pronnounce Seonnaid if it's the same as lemonaid i'd scrap that because then my theory wouldn't work imagine:

'Hello what's your name would you like a drink'

'Hi, I'm Seonnaid and yes i'll have a Vodka and lemonade....'

I can't name a child I haven't seen!! What does she look like, what sounds do you like (eg soft sounds like mm, ll or hard sounds like kk or ss). Does whe look soft and vulnerable or hard and kick ass, is she fair or brunette or redhead? Do you have any heritage that could play a part eg Welsh, Italian or whatever? Are you opera fans, or footaball hooligans or both at once? Give us a clue please! You see I'd love to name a daughter Caramel but thank goodness my husband wouldn't let me and I love French names but everyone told me - but you haven't any French ancestry so it wouldn't be kind to the child. So, fairly bog standard English names for us - do you see?
