Erm....well.....I have washed up, put some whites in the washing machine....erm erm and that's about it. This bloody site is addictive, particularly when DH is at work 7.30am-6.30pm and I've got no one other than J to play with

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:38

Morning! Just seen the wedding cake I want...
www.maisiefantaisie.co.uk/fairy-tale-wedding-cake.html

Won't be getting that then..

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:42

obviously that link didn't work..

JodieG1 · 31/03/2007 10:44

Had a quick look at the Next sale but site was quite slow and wasn't much I liked anyway.

Ethan was great last night, woke 3 times for feeding but went straight back to sleep afterwards Beats staying up for 2 hours every night Finally woke up at almost 7am for the day. Caitlin and Morgan are at a birthday party now until 12 and then we'll all be going out, not sure where yet but as the sun is shining might as well make the most of it.

Dragonhart · 31/03/2007 10:45

congrats to your dsis 2happy. What did she have?

How scary Urban, as everyone said, I would have done the same. How is he today?

Off to buy some industrial bras but have to go to manchester, so have to take R as cant do it inbetween feeds, dont want to have to squeese the buggy onto changing room so DH has to come and so does Luke as no one able to look after him.

All 4 of us in town. Together. Oh dear.

Carrott - fab cake but £815!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had plain white icing, three tiers (one fruit, two choc) and then the florist put fresh flowers on it. It looked fab and cost me £15 (the cake was baked as a present by my Auntie). Do you want a dress? I'm selling mine - it's a Maggie Sottero one

Ooooo, I could talk weddings all day - only got married last July Lizz, we need to get organising yours too

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:53

phew, it worked. Ok, it's completely ott but you know, can't afford it anyway. Does anyone pay that? It's eggs, butter and sugar ffs

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:54

real flowers, Wilkie, what a lovely idea. Think I will have to enlist the help of friends with this

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 31/03/2007 10:55

I would upload a photo but I lost them all when my computer broke

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:58

Oh no! I didn't know that . I'm not sure if I will wear a white dress, seems a bit odd with three kids, maybe will go for cream or something, I hope I don't have a moonface in all the wedding photos too..

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 10:59

did your photographer or other people have lots of copies?

laughalot · 31/03/2007 11:08

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 31/03/2007 11:17

Carrot - my MIL did the cake and flowers for our wedding. we've never heard the end of it but it did look good. my mum made the dress. the whole wedding cost us just under £1000 - which my parents stumped up the cash for!

i'll put up some pics of our cake and flowers if i can...

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 11:25

Oooh, yes please ud. I don't have any baking family unfortunately, I'm the one who normally does the cakes, not sure I'm up to making my own though..

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 11:28

Ah, you look beautiful there, and a lovely bouquet too, I hadn't thought about flowers! There's so much to do, no time, and no family help to speak of. I'll be rounding up friends for a very small do..

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 31/03/2007 11:31

ooooh i'll help...

whereabouts are you?

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 11:40

Norwich, miles from Nottingham, or Northhampton? Wherever the murder mecca is anyway Thanks anyway..

Jon's parents are dead, and my mum is worse than useless at that sort of thing, last baked me a 'very flat' cake when I was seven! Friends will be helping mostly, someone has a gazebo (no space for a marquee), another plays the cello, some are arty types who can help with the aesthetics, lights and bunting for the garden etc, got I hope it doesn't rain, I can't fit everyone in my terrace!

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 11:43

and loads of them smoke, so if it's raining they'll be huddled under said gazebo, as they're not smoking in my house! I was thinking of a hog roast too, except they also appear to be hundreds of pounds from the companys, might have to try to find a local pig farmer, plenty of them in Naaarfolk.

JodieG1 · 31/03/2007 11:46

I'm in Cambridge which isn't far from you but I can't really do posh cakes For dd's birthday we had one made by someone and it was lovely and huge, cost about £55 and it was all chocolate It was thisman that did it and as he lives near he even delivered for free.

JodieG1 · 31/03/2007 11:48

We had a small wedding on the cheap when I was 34 weeks pregnant with dd. It was small but intimate with just close family and was a great day. Sadly I was all puffy at the time as I was developing pre ecclampsia and so I don't really like my wedding photos I want to renew our vows at gretna green one year, looks lovely there and I think it's a lovely thing to do.

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 31/03/2007 12:07

We thought about gretna green, Jodie, as we're going to yorkshire for easter, but decided to do it here at st peters brewery as it's one of our favorite places. I love Cambridge too, we came down just before christmas to see the digitally remastered wizard of oz at the picturehouse. It was great, dd was scared of the witch though. 'I'll get you my priddy, and your liddle darg too'.. ha ha

Shimmer · 31/03/2007 12:34

Ooh i love weddings Carrot! That £815 cake was much too ott anyway!! I'm sure you wouldn't really want white doves on a cake....

Still waiting for my dp to propose so i can have my own wedding When i got pg we had a very brief rather embarrasing conversation about how maybe we should get married. But we agreed that we didn't want to do it just because we should (and because it would make my parents happy) and we'd get married in our own good time thank you very much. But having said that to him nearly a year ago i'm now getting a bit impatient and wish he'd just get on and ask me!! I absolutely don't want a big wedding or anything. Quite like the idea gretna green actually, or somewhere with just us and the LO

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 31/03/2007 12:44

Carrot - M&S do fabulous ices plain wedding ckes (about £10-£15 each) in three different sizes. You could buy those and then add fresh flowers?
