Thank you for all the welcomes!

We were at the in-laws last night and DS wouldn't go to sleep there, so had a late night. He was really grumpy this afternoon/evening so we're definitely going to stick to his routine as much as possible. He fell asleep in the carrier when I took him and the dogs for a walk but didn't sleep for long so again hasn't napped much today.

I'm hoping to go back to work 3 days in January. I've only just started to think about nurseries! Now I'm panicking that they'll all be full! He'll only need to go one day a week though. I think it's hard to go back to work no matter how old your baby is, I'm just worried I'm going to miss out on things!

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 05:47

DD had 6 oz at 10pm despite having around 4 at bedtime after her dinner . Then she had another 4.5 at 3.30!
My DD10 was nothing like this , she slept through from 4 months and this lo was sleeping through . I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when she wakes she plays and talks for around an hour or so after the feed ! Need more routine help !
We are now driving to Cornwall and she is fast off .

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 06:25

She has been awake almost constantly since 3.30 bar around 45 mins ? Talking etc .

coupester · 18/08/2017 09:26

Mine is not having his morning nap so he's going to be a right grump today.

Just went in to check on him as I heard him straining - he had his back arched. Do you think he might be trying to sit up?

coupester · 18/08/2017 09:28

@MotherofA I have no routine advice, I'm sorry. I really hope it improves though. And have a lovely time in Cornwall!

NameChange30 · 18/08/2017 09:31

My DS arches his back sometimes but I don't think he's trying to sit up... when he wants to sit up he does crunches Grin He must have pretty strong abs actually as he can hold it for ages! I usually take pity and help him sit up.

He rolled over ages ago but hasn't done it since. He also doesn't move much when I put him on his tummy. I guess his weight probably makes it harder for him to move. One of the disadvantages of being in the 98th percentile!

NameChange30 · 18/08/2017 09:32

Mother Enjoy Cornwall! We went recently and had a lovely time although it's not quite as relaxing with a baby Wink

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2017 09:40

DD isn't having her morning nap either today

No routine advice Sorry, DD woke at 2:30 for feed went back down straight away. I just try not to talk to her keep the light on low or off if possible. She sleeps in a sleeping bag which I leave on so it stays warm with her. She did wake up agaon at 5:30. Didn't want feed just a cuddle then fell asleep on me at around 6 so put her back in Moses til she got up at 7

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 10:13

My dp fully starts chatting with her like it's the middle of the day lol but she laughs so much I find it hard not to join in !
Haha I have never been to Cornwall without children in tow , in fact most of my holidays for the last 10 years have been with little ones 😂 . I think I skipped the part of life where I was supposed to do those things .

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2017 10:16

Well she's decided to have her nap an hour later today. Hope this isn't a new thing I liked the other nap schedule lol!! Like she's going to give me a choice 🤣

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2017 10:21

mother my OH starts chatting with her all the time. I just give him the look! He just says but I want to play with my princess, I say fine you stay up with her then. It's just typical he says I've got to get up for work in the morning you don't. He gets another look!! 😠 I will get an apology straight away as his work day starts at 8:30 and finishes at 5:30 mine doesn't. He's started to listen to me more

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 10:27

Hahaha Carol you make me laugh 😂. I need to start being firmer but I still don't get why she is waking to feed so much it's doing my peanut in .
At 6 months I'll do controlled crying but it's going to be hard with DP working 12 hour days etc . Have to hope he has a short time off or something .

troodiedoo · 18/08/2017 10:50

Carolann8584 my oh does too, I say stop stimulating her and he says I'm not, I'm just talking to her HmmGrin

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 11:00

Hahaha it is kind of cute though isn't it

Ahh, maybe he's trying to roll then. He can roll front to back (I think he taught himself that because he doesn't like tummy time) but has only managed back to side so far.

He is very unhappy today. I'm wondering whether we need to up his food. I had to stop bf after two months so he's on four 6oz bottles of Aptamil a day with a 5oz df at around 9pm. For his weight that's about right (he's small, around 13lb) but for his age the pack says 7oz bottles. Going to try a 7oz now and see how we get on!

MotherofA · 18/08/2017 13:58

Having a horrendous time just now Sad feel like pulling my hair out. Day 11 on neocate. Yesterday I gave ds Optibac probiotic not realising it may contain small amount of milk and his symptoms have flared up even worse. I can't leave him alone for a second he's being very clingy and even when he's with me he is grizzly /crying in pain.

Getting the odd 10-15 mins here and there where he is happy and settled , there's just such a difference it's like Jekyll and Hyde
