So my 9 day old baby boy was delivered by emcs at 37+5 gestation due to presenting breech (waters broke and contractions started). First baby so lots to learn!

Currently giving him expressed milk and formula topup. We tried breastfeeding but there was latch issues, he got very frustrated as he wasn't getting satisfied and my nipple was cracked and bleeding within a couple of days. I then got blocked ducts and the whole thing was a disaster really. I feel like a bit of a failure and did get help from bf clinic for the latch but it was little too late. With the c section recovery I just feel too exhausted to have him on the boob constantly and least with formula he is getting some decent sleep (although I'm usually expressing during this time so don't get a proper rest).

Oh and his fussy time is between 10pm -2am. He tends to feed and need winded on repeat between this time. It's exhausting but tonight I had a nap from 7-10pm in anticipation.

Come and join me for some chat...

Hey Hugh how's you and the brood ? I didn't come on for a while and then I couldn't find the bloody page Grin . I'm going to watch it now lol

MotherofA · 31/05/2017 23:08

Has everyone settled in to life with a baby nicely ?
I have found it a little lonely at times and I'm not really a baby group person tbf . Strange as I work from home anyway but didn't get lonely before .
With it being hot I haven't wanted to spend all my time cleaning either .

I think having her DSBs here for the past 5 days has worn out my LO, she had a 2 and a half hour nap this afternoon then woke for a feed (5 hour gap in between feeds!) Then after some cooing etc. With me wanted to go back to sleep so changed her into her pjs and sleepingbag put her on her Moses and she's been snoozing since 7:30.

She doesn't take her usual naps when they are here. As soon as she's showing signs of waking up the boys start talking to her, which wakes her more than she might have wanted. not sure who said it on here about babies waking after 45 mins nap then falling back to sleep. I've tried this and every time I let her stir and self settle again it works. She goes back to sleep for an hour or more! Thanks who ever shared that brilliant advice Grin

How's everyone and their LOs? Settling into a nice routine yet?

purple how's your little man doing on his meds? Any improvement on them?

NameChange30 · 02/06/2017 13:09

"Settling into a nice routine yet?"

DS doesn't really have a routine, sometimes he falls asleep at the same time for more than one day in a row!! I would love it if there was more of a pattern because it would be easier to manage and plan.

He still wakes up really upset sometimes, it's a bit strange and heartbreaking Sad

Hi all, welcome back mother! Hope everyone is well. Can't believe we are at the 11 week mark already and will be 3 months! DS is better thanks but still having bad moments lasting a few hours. We have a couple episodes a day on average. Overall he is more settled. The medication is making him constipated Sad Feels like it's going in the right direction now though..
we don't have a routine during the day but I aim to get him down for 7pm. Most nights it ends up being 8/8.30pm especially if he is uncomfortable. I then get him up for a dream feed at 10.30ish and straight back down. Then he wakes up between 3-5am.

Get the keys to new place two weeks today so beginning to feel excited! Got a massive list of things to shop for. Had a look at some dishes yesterday and going carpet shopping on the weekend.

Also for anyone considering baby massage I fully recommend it! We're
attending a NCT course.

name sounds hard, I really feel for you, even if someone/ something startles my LO and upsets her it breaks my heart so FlowersFlowers for you.

purple glad his meds are helping, it's a same they are causing other problems tho Sad and congrats on the new place Smile

My DD is getting better having her full feeds or at least just leaving an oz out of the 6, which means she's lasting longer so having fewer feeds, she has 5 a day now midnight to midnight. Last night she ate at 1am then 6am and today she ate at 11, 4 and 8. It's been her best day by far!

Bought her a couple of summer outfits today 3-6 months!! Omg!

Carolann8584 · 02/06/2017 22:15

purple shame not same Wink

purpleviolet1 · 03/06/2017 09:00

Good work on the 5 feeds! Grin

Thanks Purple ! Sorry to hear of your troubles .
My LO feeds roughly every 3 hours in the day (not always accurate though, she likes to keep me guessing) . She has her last around 6pm then she's exhausted and goes down to bed and sleeps straight until between 3-5 am ! She then feeds 5oz which she drinks all of and goes back to every 3 hours but not always 5oz . She sleeps bits through the day , more in her pram or car seat . Smile

Carolann8584 · 03/06/2017 11:58

Wow sleeping til 3-5am would be fab! Grin

Had major poo explosion this morning, why do they wait until they a changed to do an explosion! She was sat in her bouncer after I changed her out of her pjs. I had just gotten dress ready to go out, picked her up and smelt it 😷 went up her front into belly button ☹

That's amazing mother! What's the trick? Ds gets so overtired if he doesn't have about 3 hours daytime sleep.

Just had a thought, will my DD be ok to have her jabs Tuesday if there's a chance she could get the chicken pox?

Will do Monday, I've been checking her temp.

We have my DSSs for the weekend, DSS with the pox looks sooo bad with all his scabs now. Bless him his "D"M has told him not to touch anyone or anything in their house. So no cuddles from his DM!! First thing I did was give him a cuddle

Carolann8584 · 05/06/2017 13:21

Well no answer at my docs all day!!
