March 2017 babies

So my 9 day old baby boy was delivered by emcs at 37+5 gestation due to presenting breech (waters broke and contractions started). First baby so lots to learn!

Currently giving him expressed milk and formula topup. We tried breastfeeding but there was latch issues, he got very frustrated as he wasn't getting satisfied and my nipple was cracked and bleeding within a couple of days. I then got blocked ducts and the whole thing was a disaster really. I feel like a bit of a failure and did get help from bf clinic for the latch but it was little too late. With the c section recovery I just feel too exhausted to have him on the boob constantly and least with formula he is getting some decent sleep (although I'm usually expressing during this time so don't get a proper rest).

Oh and his fussy time is between 10pm -2am. He tends to feed and need winded on repeat between this time. It's exhausting but tonight I had a nap from 7-10pm in anticipation.

Come and join me for some chat...

Mine does that name! From what I've read they don't dream until about 3 years so not sure it can be nightmares? But definitely sounds like a cry of fear :( she did it while the health visitor was here and she was baffled.

NameChange30 · 28/05/2017 20:13

troodie Glad he's not the only one! I did Google it quickly and I think they can have dreams (or nightmares) before the age of 3... would need to look into it more to find a good source though. On one hand, it seems crazy for a 2-3 month old to have dreams, but on the other hand, their brains are already processing things (albeit simple things) aren't they?

troodiedoo · 28/05/2017 20:53

I was wondering if it was a kind of panic attack maybe. It's not nice whatever it is! But she's fine after a few seconds.

I wonder if it's something to do with them feeling abandoned so they need reassuring. My DD does it if she's left alone in her Moses, she lets out a cry just in case we have forgotten about her Hmm

Feeling a little more like myself today, dyed my hair and painted my nails for the first time since DD was born. Wedding tomorrow so thought I had better make an effort.

Oh purple glad it's getting better for you, slowly but still getting a bit better Flowers

Good effort carol hoping to attend to my roots and claws soon. Have a great time at the wedding, hope the weather is nice.

All about the muslin squares. I wouldn't have thought to buy any but we were given loads and they are great. They are scattered all over the house. I think they may have started breeding Grin

She's gorgeous Halo

We have no weddings to go to this year :(

Carolann8584 · 30/05/2017 00:35

Had a lovely time, everyone loved DD. She was so good. Even napped while we we're there. Her feed schedule went out of whack .When we got home DD had a feed which was 2 hours later than usual so no idea what time she will wake for her next feed. Made it and put in the fridge anyway so she won't have to wait for it when she decides she wants it Grin

Well DSS has the chicken pox, making me paranoid about DD catching them Sad

MotherofA · 31/05/2017 21:01

Hi All ! I'm back haha . Try not to worry , hopefully DD will be fine Smile how is everyone ?

troodiedoo · 31/05/2017 21:20

Carol my hv said it's unlikely for babies under one to get it because they have immunity from us.

Hey MoA Smile

To add about what to wear to bed for LO's in the heat , my DD wears a sleeveless vest and sleeveless / legless rompers (pack of 4 from next ) . They are so cute and lovely soft cotton . I had very similar for my DD who is now 10. Grin
