And huge respect to EaH, without whose efforts we never would have had a list

(And yes, I am one of those sad people who finds things like temperature sensors in cars really interesting. Nerd.)

laughalot · 19/03/2007 15:43

Vino my dh is a everton fan too dont ask me why when we live in nottingham

wilkie · 19/03/2007 16:13

Hey Laughalot you're nearish to me - I live south Lincoln

vinorouge · 19/03/2007 16:38

Rgee - one of DH's everton friends is coming over tonight so yes I should take advantage of their good moods shouldn't I?!DH's dad wants Ellen to support everton one of his 'habits' is to rub Ellen's feet whispering eveerton everton....DH says he wouldn't put her through it bless him

Laughalot - dh is from liverpool but funnily enough born in Anfield

From a lovely sunny day its changed to hail which soaked my washing so got it all in (and hailed on myself) now its all sunny again aaaagggghhh

UD how` nice to have £100 asda shopping! Ta for the cluster info, might try that myself.

EAH - I saw a dora the explorer toy on sat so now know what you have been talking about!

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 16:46

vin - 2 years time and you'll know who dora, boots, swiper and some basic spanish as dora speaks spanish and nglish you may also discover fifi, bumble, sluggs and stingo (fifi and the flowertots)sportacus, stephanie, stingy (lazytown) and daddy, mummy, peppa and george (peppa pig) think we watched a bit to much tv when i was heavily pg

Lizzzombie · 19/03/2007 16:47

I have watched 3 different episodes of Jeremy Kyle today. I am having such a scummy day. I think this is the laziest day I've had since having my baby.
Can I ask if its possible to get a period when you are on the mini pill? I've come on, and I have no idea why. I am BF still and on the pill. This is all very weird.
ps - my baby is soooooo cute at the moment, I may be the 1st mother to be on the news who actually eats her own baby. Do you know what I mean?! x

theUrbanDryad · 19/03/2007 16:50

LTH - you know how you said George was the Big Bogey Baby in your house? how did you get them out?? Zac's nose is totally clogged and i can see the bogies up there but i can't get em!!!

Dragonhart · 19/03/2007 17:26

Oh! Oh! Oh! can I be in your gang too! Or maybe I will have to work harder at getting on MN more. Might lead to a divorce in the Dragon family though!

Ohn how I miss watching daytime telly!! Used to watch it and sky+ed programmes when feeding Luke but feel too guilty to watch it when feeding Ruth as Luke is watching too. So if I do watch it, end up watching childrens tv. Not the same.

EAH, Christening gown is georgeous!

Urban, MIL, Grrrrr! Going to mine for Easter for a week. Oh dear!

I kind of cluster feed Ruth, feeding her at 4 then 6 but as two separate feeds rather than one long one. Works for us too, although if I feed her too much she spends the next hour being sick when I am trying to get her to sleep.

wilkie · 19/03/2007 18:06

Lizz - already eaten mine he is so scrummy and yummy I could cry!

UD - sounds awful but I get a piece of toilet paper, twist it into a thinnish sliver and gently use it to coax the bogies down from Jacob's nose then fish em out with my finger. OR you can buy/get on prescription saline drops that you squirt up their nose to make them sneeze the bogey out (my sis had to do this with her twins as they used to get very blocked noses) I'm actually addicted to it and he doesn't seem bothered Am I a freak????

Jacob has been a huge whinge bag today, he was SOOOOO good at my M&D's yesterday so think he is making up for it by being grumpy

wilkie · 19/03/2007 18:14

Just been nosing at everyone's profiles:

Vino - can I give you my washing to do????
DH - your LOs are so sweet
EAH - FAB christening gown!
UD - you look nothing like I imagined and how cute is Zac?!
Lizz - upload some more photos of Dylan please
Laughalot - Westlife?? NOOOOO Scissor Sisters!!! YEEEESSSS
RGee - Can we see some photos?
Shimmer - LOVE the stripey romper suit. Where's it from?

....tea's ready (DH cooking), will keep reading later, it's funny seeing photos of some of you, nothing lik I imagined at all

bubblebell1 · 19/03/2007 18:29

hi girls sorry to gate crash.

i wondered if you would be kind enough to share your pushchair knowledge.

what 1s are you using and if you are pleased etc

thanks

xxx

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 18:52

bubblebell i have mamas and papas freestyler travel system that I had for dd1 hate it to big, its forward facing, I have put car seat onto pram twice in 2.5 years and bought a stroller at 4 months after dd1 born.

If I had known what I do now, I would have bought a pram that faced me maybe converted into pushchair, smaller when folded than stupid travel system (would have got umbrella style folding chassis thingy)and wouldnt have made my mum and dad cough up £40 for the matching changing bag that ripped after 7 months.

Great fan of y pushchair - NOT!

laughalot · 19/03/2007 18:54

Bluebell im using a graco travel system I had it with my son so because I was feeling rather tight about buying another my poor dd has a blue pram but hay ho it saved me another £ 250.00, it has been ok served its purpose nothing fancy fits in car ok.

Wilkie I knew we werent far away as I said before if I ever have to go on cover to our lincoln shop I will pop in for a southern comfort, we have to cover alot of shops and lincoln is one of them . Told you it was sad liking westlife .

Eah love the gown she looks really tiny in it, I also liked the post with all the cartoons my ds loves bloody peppa pig but dora is far to girley its go diego go in our house however he does like fifi good job really because his sister is bound to want it on when she grows up.

I cannot load photos on my profile as our computer is a bag of w*nk however if anyone would like to see the most beautiful children ever then let me know and I shall email some pics of me and my lovely family I feel rather left out as I can see everyones pics but nobody can see mine.

I find it really interesting seeing all the pics and seeing what you all look like.

Vino if you are willing to give me your email address I could send you some pics that would make your husband proud yes when my ds was born he even had a everton dummy.

wilkie · 19/03/2007 19:25

Laughalot - email wilkbert @ ntlworld . com - would love to see some pics! Of course...totally forgot you were going to join me for a SoCo preggie brain still at large

Bubblebell - I have the Silver Cross 3D pram/pushchair and it is FAB! It is a pram that converts to a pushchair which will last until LO is about 2.5. Have just converted it to a forward facing buggy and he loves looking around! Downsides are shopping basket hard to get to and doesn't hold much and it is quite heavy when lifting in and out of car boot. Other than that it has a big thumbs up!

RGee · 19/03/2007 19:28

Evening all.

Our lo had York City (yes I know, York City, but they are riding high in the Conference) sleepsuit and vest, but get this, each time she wore them on match day, they won!! Need to get the next size up now.

Wilkie - can you not see my photos? I've got some up. You look miles younger than I expected! (Not haggard like me with a 2 month old)

Bubble - go a M&P Pliko pramette and would def recommend. LO naps in pram during the day, and it folds umbrella style.

Right, off to watch Coronation St. Hope you all have a good night.

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 19:38

LAUGHALOT - I want to see pics of dc [email protected] ellie only likes diego if he has his torch although she often says 'animals in trouble' and goes off to save them

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 19:38

west ham in this house

theUrbanDryad · 19/03/2007 19:45

Bubblebell - i inherited a leopard print 3-wheeler travel system. it's from Mothercare - in their urban detour range or something! it's very large and with the car seat in it's about a foot longer than i expect so a nightmare on the bus and tube! it's great for things like country walks because the carseat just slots into it and it has awesome suspension so it's great for off-roading but for public transport i tend to use one of these - which i believe was instrumental in me getting called a "fuckin hippy" by an uncouth chappy wearing a baseball cap in the Co-Op. i responded with an equally witty "fuckin knobhead" and went on my merry way. i suppose it does make a difference from "fuckin greebo" which is what i usually get from "das untermensch" who live in my area, and clearly, greebo + baby = hippy!

theUrbanDryad · 19/03/2007 19:50

oh, and wilkie - what did you expect me to look like??

EAH - ellie really looks like you in that picture of the two of you!

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 19:52

aaaaw thanks ud beauty and (my) brains

actually she was an absolute spit of dh till about a year ago, Hattie is gradually morphing into a mini ellie

LadyTophamHatt · 19/03/2007 19:58

UD, the trick is to get a tissue and fold it into a point.
Fold it in half then half again, then at one of the corners fold it again, making a narrow-ish baby nostril sized point, depanding on the tissues you might have to fold it again bacsue if its to narrow it won't be strong enouh to retrieve the bogey

Cheap tissue make narrow point, kleenex etc make wider point.

It makes a perfect bogey extractor....maybe I could patent it

I also use a folded tissue to dry his ears after the bath.

(BTW you can also buy nasel aspirators to suck the snot/bogeys out...I've nevr had much success with them though)

theUrbanDryad · 19/03/2007 20:13

ok - but how do you get them to hold their head still long enough so you can get the tissue up their clogged up nostrils??!

Dragonhart · 19/03/2007 20:17

Bluebell, I would definatly go for one which faces you as I didnt for DS1 but did for my twin now and it is soooo much easier to keep lo quiet and entertained if you are trying to do things like shop!

Urban, that is like the one I tried at the littleones fair! It is really comfy so when your lo gets to about 10 tons like my ds, he will still feel really light in it. BTW, as if people just come up to you and hurl abuse!

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 20:29

dragonhart your pics are sooooooo cute love the one where L is just about to launch Ruth we have had that scenario many times!

ellieandhattie · 19/03/2007 20:30
