And huge respect to EaH, without whose efforts we never would have had a list

(And yes, I am one of those sad people who finds things like temperature sensors in cars really interesting. Nerd.)

vinorouge · 15/03/2007 14:31

I'm here too! Currently enjoying some peace and quiet while Ellen sleeps off her first injections. She seemso after crying louder than I've ever heard her cry when the needles went in. Got some calpol for later if I need it. Had her weighed and 12lb 10 today at 8.5 weeks - she's a chubby one!

Lovely day here too - 2 loads of washing on the line. Just about the clean the fridge. How exciting ! List of things to do is endless so had trouble deciding where to start.

Lizz - thanks for the bra info.

RGee · 15/03/2007 14:32

Hello too!
Been quiet as still recovering from pharangytis (would be tonsilitis apparently but I don't have any tonsils).
EAH - I really hope you don't have what I do.
LO is unwell too, but in a bizarre way. She is cooing madly, smiling and chattering with me all the time, but is struggling to eat despite being hungry, nd sleeping a lot. Plus she has had about 3 extra dirty nappies today, although still wet. No fever. Should I worry? She was like this yesterday too.

Wilkie - we have 5 door Focus. I like the way it drives. Can fit in the stage 1 car seat fine, and M&P pushchair fits in the boot. Would def recommend. Don't move to Kent (sorry EAH) - stay oop north - Leeds is great! Please can I have a chocloate digestive?

Vino - would love to meet up at some stage. Email me on rachel 'underscore' airey 'at' hotmail 'dot' com

2Happy - glad all is ok

Dragonhart - pmsl at heads shoulders etc

Jodie - hope all get well soon

Lizz - loved the poo explosion story. Luckily () we caught a projectile poo moment plus poo landing on dh on camcorder. Can't wait to bring it out at her 18th party!

Phew! Think that's all the personal's I can manage for now. I'm also impressed at the myspace crew!

theUrbanDryad · 15/03/2007 15:36

RGee - lmao at your poo explosion!! you should put it on YouTube!

EAH - sorry, the parcel did arrive today. the dungarees and vests are lovely, thank you so much!

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 15:51

ok all, we are going in for the commando waggle for half an hour, old towels are everywhere...wish me luck!

Shimmer · 15/03/2007 16:24

Hi all. Just had a horrible couple of hours with freddie after having his jabs this morning. He was so good at the clinic and only cried for about a minute and then seemed fine and was really good and wide awake and smiling in his pram in tescos afterwards. But then about 1.5 hours ago (about 3 hours after the jabs) he suddenly started screaming! He obviously really wanted to sleep as he had his eyes closed and he'd dose off for about 10 mintues then wake up and scream for about 10 mintues before i could settle him again I gave him some capol about an hour ago and he's just (fingers crossed) gone into a proper deep sleep. I really feel for those of you who've had poorly babies since they've been born (especially you at the moment with 3 of them Jodie!) Freddie hasn't been ill at all before so it actually really upset me seeing him so miserable Hope you don't have any problems with Ellen Vino! (Freddie's almost exactly the same weight as Ellen 12lbs 8oz today!)

Wilkie how exciting that you might be moving! I LOVE moving (I know that might be a bit weird...) I haven't lived in the same place for more than 2 years since I was 18!! DP and I have been talking about where we want to move to as well. We're in central london now which I don't really think is a great place for kids. DP is from 'up north' and I have a feeling he'd quite like to go back up to somewhere in yorkshire...

Also Wilkie I feel exactly the same as you about wanting a girl next! I have a really close reltionship with my mum too and I'd love to have that with a daughter. I'm not sure I trust myself to try and get pregnant again (not that i am just yet!!) until I feel that I wouldn't be dissapointed if it was another boy. My cousin's just had a 3rd boy and I know she was a bit upset, which is so sad, though obviously i'm sure she'll still love him loads and just as much as the other 2.

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 16:53

OK, OK, now you've all come out of the woodwork I suppose you can all have a biccie!!

Lizz - I hope you've put your pants on and stopped commando waggling! Honestly...and you a mother, you should be setting an example

RGee - Leeds is defo an option for us, I LOVE Leeds! EAH - Kent is a bit far but you can come for a cuppa anytime!

Shimmer - I love moving too. Just love the excitement of it all, I don't find it particularly stressful and get itchy feet if I stay in one place too long.

Best go, DH just got in from a tournament and from the looks (and time) of it, it didn't go too well.....more biccies and tea needed methinks.

vinorouge · 15/03/2007 17:17

Shimmer - Ellen is asleep but keeps crying for a few minutes and then nodding off again after having cried 3-4pm when she woke up first of all. If she's still unsettled when she wakes up properly I'll give her some calpol because she never cries this much and this LOUDLY. Poor little thing.

My fridge hasn't got cleaned....got caught up trying to order something from tommee tippee website - I was getting frustrated!!

EAH I keep thinking of your tesco tale from yesterday and chuckling to myself. Hope the treats you bought were enjoyed by all.

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 17:32

So, LO didnt really enjoy the commando session (knew I should have waxed - must have scared him!)
Can I ask if anyone is going to a mother and baby group yet? I am having problems finding one in my area. It sounds bad, but there are mother and baby groups for jewish people, mixed race people, asian people and gay people, and one for Dads. But I can't find any for me. Should I gatecrash one of the ones listed? I'm going severely mental, seriously. I need to get out of the house and do something other than push a buggy round the shops drooling at shoes I can't walk in and clothes I have nowhere to wear. I want my life back. Or any type of life. Not happy this afternoon.

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 17:41

Oh Lizz - biccieto feel better? I haven't joined a mother and toddler group because, ahem, they are just not my kind of people. That makes me sound such a snob but my nearest mother and toddler group is in quite a rough area of the city and when I went the other day I didn't quite 'gel' with the other mothers.

Just had fish and chips for my tea - yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 18:08

didnt take dd1 to any baby groups same sort of reason as wilkie and best friend had just had baby so we used to see each other.

We started toddler group when she was 9 months but it took till she wad 18 months for anyone to really talk to us, but maybe cause we went together ??

Hattie probably wont go to any tg as ellie be at preschool and cant fit it all in, but loads of friends/neighbours have had or expecting lo's so she'll see lots of children anyway. Try your HV she may have a list of groups.

Wilkie - boo hoo not moving to kent, anyone else fancy moving this way?? and at fish and chips we are having ham salad and jacket pots how boring

Vin treats were lovely we had tesco finest choc cake and girls had dairy lea dunkers followed by choc button mousse thing and felt very brave and got the paint out for them think majority of it was on the plastic sheet or their hands.

lizz - lmao about your commando time

ud - glad they arrived

theUrbanDryad · 15/03/2007 18:09

lizzz - there doesn't appear to be a baby cafe near you which is a shame. do you keep in touch with anyone from your antenatal classes?

try asking your HV. failing that, pick a local cafe and stick an ad in your local paper for other mums! start your own group!

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 20:04

anyone around?????????

JodieG1 · 15/03/2007 20:08

RGee and Shimmer - thanks, hope so too

Had to take dd back to the drs thsi afternoon as her temp had risen to 41.1 or 106 and I was quite worried, drs were fab though and saw her right away when we got there. Turns out she has the flu poor little thing, she's been ill with one thing after another for ages now and I can't help thinking it's because I didn't breast feed her dr said it could be because she was prem, that's why I ended up not bf beacuse she was started on formula tube fed after glucose and they wanted to see how much she was eating. I just wish I knew then what I know now as I'd have bf but then I knew less and was worried and young

Think ds1 also has the flu but his temp was only 104 but was his usual sunny self, poor dd was really whacked out by it. Both had calpol earlier and then nuerofen and even Ethan has had calpol as he is slightly hot with a temp of 37.8.

Hope everyone else's lo's are well.

I'm not doing the mother and baby classes, never did with any as it's just not my thing.

Dragonhart · 15/03/2007 20:09

I go to a mother and toddler/baby group Lizz, I find it really hard though as I am pretty shy and everyone is a bit cliquey (sp?). I am persevering though as I am feeling pretty lonely. Started going before R was born with DS1 and since R was born have started afew more convos with people and am feeling a bit more relaxed. With DS1 my mum was looking for job after moving which took her a while and my brother was working night shifts so I had adult company in the day. With one lo I could also go to classes but now it is just too hard with feeds for Ruth.

BTW, Tiny Talk Baby sign classes are great fun for you and lo. Ours had about 3/4hour of singing and signing for your lo then the same for the mums to have a cuppa and a biscuit while the lo play with toys. Perhaps a little early now but in a few weeks I would look into it. Ours also organised mights out for the mums which was really nice. Also I really wish I had done swimming classes with DS1. Friends of ours did it from 2months and had great fun. If you can face puting on a swimming costume that is!!

Also Lizz, 17months between mine. If you ask me at tea time when DS is getting stroppy and R is screaming whether I like having them close together I might say it was really hard work but if you asked me when they are fast asleep or when DS1 is giving R a kiss then I would say it is sooo lovely having them so close together.

Hope all the poorly lo and those who have had injections are feeling better soon. xxx

Dragonhart · 15/03/2007 20:11

Jodie-Poor lo! Hope they are feeling better soon and dd's temp goes down. xxx
