And huge respect to EaH, without whose efforts we never would have had a list

(And yes, I am one of those sad people who finds things like temperature sensors in cars really interesting. Nerd.)

where are you all I'm bored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Dragonhart · 14/03/2007 20:16

Just had a read through afew. Cant beleive it was so long ago. Can anyone remember what it was like without them?!

R was sooo chilled out when I took her up to sleep, then just as I had finished shh patting her and was waiting for DH to leave DS's room just to make shure she didnt pop her eyes open, DH thundered in to get his contact lenses, woke R up then left to go to the Gym!! Just spent an extra hour settling her as her eyes poped open and she started to scream!!!

Cant be too mad as DH has been really good with a health kick to loose some weight but still!!

God, if we all start chatting on Myspace, we will never get anything done!!

ellieandhattie · 14/03/2007 20:27

oh DH hope she stays asleep for you now, and good on your dh doing his health kic. I
ts me that needs to do that in this house as annoyingly (is that a word) dh is slim and toned whatever he eats and likes (uuurgh cant believe he likes) riding 3 miles to work and back on his bike and enjoys running (I find every form of excercise boring hence why I have lost baby weight but no more and cpld do with shifting another 1.5stone at least!)actually reading that explains why he is slim and toned mmmn birthday soon do you think I should get a bike we have a seat for ellie and could get one for hattie

ellieandhattie · 14/03/2007 20:30

and posting about the first antenatel thread has reminded me that it was my birthday weekend in april last year that i conceived my little bundle asleep upstairs so no extra curricular activities this year (especially as my parents had ellie for weekend last year and are having them both for the weekend this year!) as I do not want another Jan baby (in fact I probably do not want another baby fullstop unless someone wants to buy me a bigger house and car and pay the mortgage so I dont have to work

Dragonhart · 14/03/2007 20:35

I have tosay, that with DS it took me 6months to think I wanted another, but this time it only took me 6 weeks!

Off to watch Battlestar now!

JodieG1 · 14/03/2007 21:42

Well no more for us, after dh had his vasectomy last month! The pain of the last birth was so much worse than the others as well so I really don't want to do it again. Think 3 is enough for us Always used to want more but it's not really practical.

Shimmer · 14/03/2007 21:53

Ahhh EHM that antenatal thread made me feel quite nostaglic. I was SOOOOO excited when I first found out I was pregnant. It's so nice to have MN to share the inital excitment even when you think it's too early to tell others about

Very impressed with all your myspace stuff ladies. It made me want to set up my own page but I really DO NOT want to be spending more time in front of the computer than I do already.

Taking LO for immunisations tomorrow which I'm realy not looking forward to. Bought some Capol today as i know they can get a temperature afterwards. My mum said to just give him a little bit anyway just in case Did any one else do this? Or is it generally recommended to wait to see if there's anything actually wrong with them?

Shimmer · 14/03/2007 21:54

Sorry EAH, not EHM. Obviously.

wilkie50 · 14/03/2007 21:56

Shimmer - you can only give 2 doses of Calpol prior to 12 weeks (that's TOTAL, not per day as I thought!) so I waited to see how he was before 'wasting' a dose. As it turns out, he only needed one dose about 2 hours after the jabs as he was very unhappy and then slept for the rest of the day and night (so I technically have one more dose I can give him before 12 weeks should he need one).

After 12 weeks, you can give them as much Calpol as needed within the 4-6 hourly limits and I probably will give him some half hour before we have the second lots of immunisations.

wilkie50 · 14/03/2007 21:58

Oh, I read some of that thread when you all found out you were PG. When I had my m/c I was posting on Netdoctor, so excited, but then lost the baby so this time I didn't dare post on any sites until I stumbled across MN in October and decided to start posting. Reading MOM account reminded me of my m/c

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 08:27

OMG - what do you do when a LO has constipation?! He was screaming his head off for ages this morning, till my DP read that if you make their little legs go in a bicycling motion it gets things moving again...cue - major poo explosion all over the changing mat. I was unable to help my DP as I was collapsed laughing too much. He had poo on his sholder (DP!) but, LO was instantly calmed. Phew. Poor little thing!

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 08:35

oh my god just pmsl at that lizz eeeeugh bet that was great first thing in the morning!!!!

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 08:39

EAH - added you to my myspace friends now. My server was being odd yesterday. Dont be offended! Very cute photos. As much as I love my little boy, am a little bit jeaolus of not having a girl. My DP told me the other night he really would love another baby sooner rather than later, and he would love a girl. I told him if we had another one I wouldnt be going back to work for ages and he could build me a studio in the new house (which we are househunting for now!) so I could be creative and sell arty things instead. He agreed. I am thinking about it....not sure if I can handle heartburn again!

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 08:39

I am definately wide awake now!

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 09:01

thanks lizz added you to my profile whoo ooo i have 4 friends 3 of them are mnetters

Its funny cause when we were eepecting ellie we didnt find out the sex and both convinced she was a boy and secretley I really wanted a boy but it felt so right when she was born and they said its a girl. However, I think I 'knew' from around 10 weeks that Hattie was a girl and even though dh would have loved a boy I was actually really pleased to have 2 of the same. Ellie is such a versatile little thing I am currently typing this whilst being dressed in several rows of beads/hairclips and a tiara on courtesy of ellie (who is dressed as a fairy at the mo!) but when her dad gets home she'll be in the garden playing football or 'helping' him fix his bike etc so I think we have the best of both worlds.

My friend came to visit a few weeks ago and was asking about the age gap and I said its diffcult because theres 2yr 4months she gets bored at home but cant start preschool till at least 2yr6month but she text me last night to say she'd been for 12 week scan expecting in sept and she'll have a 2yr 4 month age gap so no wonder she was asking me,hope I was having a good day when I was talking to her

New house and studio sound fab, I think a few others on here have smaller age gaps Nemo has 13months between dd2 and dd3 and I think laughalot/dragonhart have less than 2 years

JodieG1 · 15/03/2007 10:22

Just got back from the doctors as all 3 of mine are ill now Ethan is snuffly still with a slight temp and diahhrea and the doctor said I'm fine to give him calpol 4 times a day and apparantly it's ok from birth as long as the doctor says so. So they're all dosed up with calpol now and too ill to play outside in the lovely weather.

JodieG1 · 15/03/2007 10:24

Forgot to say eah the bottles came today, typically while I was out at drs but luckily neighbour took them in. Thanks a lot for those :D Should be much easier to give him the expressed milk in those.

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 10:46

Poor you Jodie. Hope your little ones get better soon.
Its weird to see the rest of the country has lovely weather. Its thick fog in Hove. I can hardly see out the window!

Lizzzombie · 15/03/2007 11:39

vinorouge - just remembered about your mate needing a halter neck feeding bra. I've not come across such a thing, but have sold multiway bras to breastfeeding women before. These are all underwired though. (personally now, my tits are so sore & tender I can't imagine wearing an underwire till I stop feeding, but I know lots of ladies who do)
Depending on her size obviously depends on where she gets it. But to avoid any undue discomfort I would def recommend she gets fitted for her absolute correct size. Have a look at this bra (where I used to work)
multiway bra
or try Debenhams if she is lower than a D cup.

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 12:29

Bonjour. Lizz - know what you mean about the girl thing. I was convinced that Jacob was a girl. I love having a boy as there aren't any in our family, we are all girlies, but I really really want a daughter next and yes, I think I would be disappointed if it were another boy although I know I would love him just the same. I think it's because I have such an amazing relationship with my Mum that I want a daughter to have that same relationship with when she is older.

Jacob was weighed this morning and is 11lbs 11oz - only 3oz since last week but they said his growth will slow down now and I only need to go to clinic every two weeks.

He's a right grumpy bum today - currently has his nappy off (again - exhibitionist) on a towel under the play gym chuntering away to himself in an unhappy voice. It's quite amusing to listen to. Mean mummy!

DH is looking at options for moving job - he wants to find a Head Pro job now - getting quite excited at the prospect of moving house/city although it won't be until the end of the year. We have also decided to change my car - hoping to get a Focus or 307. Any opinions/experience gratefully recieved.

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 12:31

BTW Lizz - constipation - I give Jacob a bottle with 4oz boiled water and 2 tsp fresh orange juice. It really shifts the poo! You can also give the same mixture via spoon if you don't use bottles (obviously they don't need to take the entire 4oz or they would be pooing for England!)

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 13:33

quiet on here today

Jodie sorry to her kids are ill we've been to drs this morning (waited 1.5hours!!) as I have got a really sore throat and practically lost my voice and Hattie is very snuffly, I have a throat infection and got antibiotics and he gave Hattie some nasal drops but says her chest clear so no need for a/b for her. Glad you got the bottles (finally) hope Ethan likes them now

Wilkie sounds fab about your dh looking for new job will he stay within your county or go anywhere?? No help with the car but my bruv had ford focus and I always struggle to put ellies 2nd stage car seat in there but it is a 3 door and in theory you woudnt be putting it in and out just fit it in and leave it so suppose it doesnt really matter.

Lovely day here Ellie playing in the garden she washed her little plastic car yesterday so is 'driving' around the garden but have left her gardening tools out as I know she'll want to do some digging later. Hattie fast asleep was in her pushchair but bought her in as can't get laptop to that end of the house and don't quite trust ellie not to barge her with the car. Thinking may have to invest into wireless connection as what will I do in the summer without my day access to MN

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 13:35

EAH - everyone's on bloody MySpace [Wilkie stamps her foot]

wilkie50 · 15/03/2007 13:36

Sod them EAH - do you want to come round for some chocolate digestives and a cup of tea?

ellieandhattie · 15/03/2007 13:37

oh yes please but have you room to park a small plastic car as ellie is surgically attached to it. Milk and one sugar for me we are on our way
