Hello everyone,

Ha blue reading Murakami books gives me weird dreams! I am still having quite strange dreams but I think it may just be nearly 3 months of broken sleep beginning to affect my brain!
Your trolley story made me laugh I have been chased out of supermarkets because I keep leaving my card in the machine after paying and last week made a slow cooker curry with two tablespoons not teaspoons of salt.. My smug organisation face faced pretty quickly when I tasted it realised I was an idiot and now had 15 minutes to get DD some dinner and out the door to brownies.

Thanks for all the tips on milk storage I didn't have chance to reply before we went away, we ended up with an amazing new cool box which kept everything as needed. Unfortunately DH wanted to be sure he had enough mile so took my entire stash so some got wasted but never mind. Starting to rebuild from tomorrow!

DH and Raffy did not have a lovely harmonious evening though poor DH Raffy screamed for nearly the whole time refused milk screamed on the train ( I can imagine poor DH feeling so stressed) so we need to do some work on that as I think it may have slightly traumatised my lovely husband! Because DD point blank refused bottles I never left her when she was this small. I was hoping it would all be really smooth and mean I could go back to skating but not sure now. I have a hen do in a few weeks which I am taking Raffy to part of its during the day mostly as DH has a gig so hopefully that will go better!

But HP & the cursed child was amazing me and DD loved it (until the sprint to the tube/train to relieve DH of Raffy Wink) would really recommend it to any HP fans or not! The special effects were absolutely brilliant.

Ruby its so hard not to worry but my first ever hv said if baby us happy alert and you are getting wet nappies then it's likely all is fine but never wait if you are worried and insist on seeing someone else if you feel like you have been fobbed off.

Anna that sounds like a lovely way to spend your birthday. Add in some ice cream for good measure.
Also I love winter hats Raffy wore his for the first time in the sling on the school run today everyone needs a bobble hat.

Primary glad the weekend went better than you thought.
Also joining in the cold gang, it is rubbish! Raffy did two nights of 11.30 till 4 then got the cold Confused hoping we may return to that when he's better.

Awh Indians, she's so gorgeous! Also, you win on dreams. That is hilarious.

Mrs R I am delighted the trip went well in terms of milk storage, although sorry your husband had a hard time! I wish I'd booked tickets to see the cursed child - isn't it all booked up for forever now?

So bummer of the day - DH's parents are away on holiday and have got dog sitters in to look after their two large ish dogs. Unfortunately they aren't on mains water, and the pump has chosen today to break, leaving them with no water. We have had no choice but to say that we will take the dogs for the next four days so that they can go home. I am SO fucked off. Our house is tiny, the garden isn't fully dog proof so I have to watch them if they go out, we don't have a door on our kitchen so I'll have to barricade them in when I go out to my post natal class tomorrow, DH is away tomorrow so I am stuck with Ruben and two bloody great bouncy licky dogs all day, I'll have to barricade them in the kitchen every time I feed so that they don't lick him, I won't be able to put Ruben down ever, and I have also lost half my writing day today and will lose the whole of Friday and the weekend because DH will be looking after the dogs rather than Ru.

Arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh I am so aggravated! I really don't want the dogs in my house! It is going to be such an effing hassle.

Arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh!

Oh fucking hell Bluebs, that's just well grim Angry

julfin · 06/10/2016 00:02

Hallie is way cuter than that false pretender!

Indians - a glowing purple nipple - brilliant. Did it flash like the light on an ambulance?
Does anyone else's boobs throb sometimes when they hear their baby crying? I'd heard of this phenomenon before, but only just started experiencing it recently. It's kind of weird and painful yet strangely warm and comforting at the same time.

Bluebs - now that you mention it, I can't remember the last time I had a dream. Which is strange, because I always used to have quite vivid but mundane dreams. Mind you, maybe I'm just too tired to remember them. I fell asleep for ages (over half an hour, certainly) in the hairdressers this afternoon, with silver foil all over my head...
Two dogs for 4 days? Wow, ghastly. Sounds to me as if your PILs owe you 8 days of childcare so that you can focus on your writing...

Ha ha Dats - as ever, you have a way with words! 😄

Cookies - yes my mum is wonderful. And very excited to be spending so much time with the first grandchild! I'm afraid I'm not willing to loan her out, sorry! 😉

Has anyone ever tried the Belgian style hot chocolate in Le Pain Quotidien? Molten dark chocolate in a jug, which you pour into a mug of hot frothy milk or just eat from the jug with a spoon. Pure heaven 😊

Jasper just coughed in his sleep and my boobs are now hurting.

12 weeks today (just). And he's just moved into size 3-6m clothes. I love having the floppy bits of material at the ends of his feet again.

AnnaT45 · 06/10/2016 05:34

juf yes to tingling boobs when they cry! It also happens when other babies cry, I find that odd lol!
That hot chocolate sounds amazing!!! I need to try it!

Ugh blue that's awful!! Can they not put them in kennels? But selfish when you have a young baby! I would be so annoyed too. Wow on the sleep!!! That's awesome! We seem to be getting slowly better too. I now do the 2/3 o clock feed lying down and we both fall asleep really fast after so I'm feeling much more revived!

mrs Rolly so jealous of HP! I tried and failed to get tickets! Did you see both parts? I may try get them again if I can!
That's a shame DH had a hard time, but I do think it's good for them to have time alone. We had to figure them out with instructions so they need to do the same. DH has been really nervous to be alone with Grace as she hates being away from me. I've been leaving them for ten/15 mins whilst I shower. Last night they were very happy together which is progress.
Jealous of the hen! What are you doing for it?

Thank you for your support re my bday. We are going to go to a friends house for the afternoon/evening. They've offered us all to stay but it's only a ten min drive and I'm not really able to drink so I'll just have one or two glasses of prosecco early on I think! The following day is my parents wedding anniversary so having my dad and siblings over for lunch. It's probably why I'm so down on it this year as have to get through that.

I know I've mentioned before but my eldest brother has downs, autism and a hole in his heart. He has a operation on Friday under GA and I'm really nervous about it. He's been signed off by his amazing cardiology team so we think it will be fine but I'm still anxious. My amazing sister is going to stay the night before and after with dad and brother to help them. So I'm helping out with her kids. Wondering if I can cope with my two and her two in McDonald's after school?! Hers are 6 and 9 and really good for me! Just can't be arsed to cook for them all and don't want my sisters husband to do it when get gets home from work.

I'd like to add my diet has been completely shocking this week. We had friends over last night and got a dominos Blush I'll start again today Hmm

AnnaT45 · 06/10/2016 05:35

Without instructions!! How amazing if they did have them Grin

julfin · 06/10/2016 05:51

Anna - thinking of you and your family. These milestone dates are so difficult. It will very gradually get easier. You have so many happy memories of your mother, and such amazing family strength. Having your brother's operation to worry about too must be so hard. Sending you lots of hugs. You are so brace and strong.

Just heard tragic news that the father of my cousin's little boy has killed himself. They've had to tell him today. He is 4. So sad for their whole family.

Bluebell20 · 06/10/2016 06:29

Julfin, what awful news. Sending well wishes to all.

julfin · 06/10/2016 07:08

Thanks Bluebs.

Made me think of Pulpi too, after what her family went through. I wonder if she's ok.

AnnaT45 · 06/10/2016 08:04

Oh my goodness Juf. How awful. Was he still with your cousin? That poor little boy x

MrsRolly · 06/10/2016 08:28

Oh julfin that's awful, poor poor family.

Anna, yes both parts. We opted for the same day option so came out for some early dinner in between.
They had a returns queue by the box office not sure if there is an online version of it?
Yes DH is normally fine and still happy to take Raffy I probably shouldn't have rang to find out now he was getting on just then felt awful as he sounded so stressed and could hear the screaming! Next time will be text only, communication.
Milestones are really tricky, I hope your brothers operation goes well. I am sure the kids will be fine in McDonald's and see it as a treat!

Last night I saw all the hours from 2am yawnnnnn had already forgotten what that is like.
Off to put on the coffee pot and a find a blanket to snuggle under after the school run!

Bluebell20 · 06/10/2016 09:09

Yes julf, it made me think of pulpi as well. Pulpi, if you're out there, hope you're doing well!

Anna, gosh your family has been through the mill. Hope the op goes really well. I'm sure you can cope with the kids in maccy d's - you are a super mum! Regarding the dogs, they can't go in kennels because one of them is rehomed and was sadly abused in her previous life. She needs to stay in familiar surroundings. To be fair the dogs have been good as gold since they arrived last night. DH fenced them off in the kitchen this morning after their walk, and Ruben and I are about to head out to the dentist and post natal class, so I'll only have to deal with them for about four hours before DH gets back and shares.

Not sure DH was thrilled with his birthday present! He didn't seem excited, but he's not one for being overly effusive, and hopefully he will enjoy it on the day.

Julf - yes, DH had already mentally logged the child care owed by his parents! And I also sometimes get let down when I hear Ruben crying. It is odd!

Right. Dentist. With baby. I can do this!!!

Ooo thanks indians and Hallie is looking as gorge as ever!! I hope she's a hair model in the future Grin
bluebell that sounds horrendous - dogs taking over your house ( and life!) as a very strong 'cat person' here it sounds pretty hellish! You can totally do the dentist!! Positive thoughts. I took all 3 last month and we lived to tell the tale
julf that hot choc sounds incredible!! On the other hand that is some very sad news. Just got some serious cold shivers. How tragic :(
anna thinking of you and your family, you must be a very strong bunch. Fuck the diet!
Sure the McDonald's plan will be a success!

Right must dash to my day of extra-circular (spelling?!) activities ( think swimming lesson, ballet, gym, dance Hmm) probably all spent with baby on boob...

julfin · 06/10/2016 17:38

Thanks, ladies. I feel so sorry for the little boy when he's a bit older and starts to understand more than just "daddy died". Anna - they split up a couple of years ago. But I imagine you don't move on in quite the same way when you have a child together. Also, they originally met through my uncle - I think he was the son of my uncle's neighbour - so sort of a family friend.

Indians - I am annoyed on your/Hallie's behalf.
Love the Robbie C dream!

Rolly - hope you've managed to get some rest today.

Cookies - gosh, busy day! Whose extra-curricular activities are those?

sundaysunday · 06/10/2016 18:08

How sad for that little boy julfin, its hard enough to deal with as an adult let alone at 4 yrs old.

Hope your brother is OK Anna and recovers well after his surgery. Sounds like you all have a busy few weeks ahead, am hoping you and your family have an easier time of it soon x

Cookies your day sounds mental busy!!

Bluebell I've got to brave the dentist for a filling with E in tow soon. Am dreading it! Also taking him to hairdressers tomorrow as I'm in desperate need highlights redoing (I'm unintentionally rocking the ombre look at the mo Grin) It could be a very trying 3 hours!

It's so cold here today, is it wrong that I'm using my child as a hot water bottle? Grin

julfin · 06/10/2016 20:02

My little darling had his 12 week immunisations today. Since then he's slept for 3 hours, then woke up and fed for 10 mins, and immediately fell asleep again. I'm thinking that, as long as he's feeding, I'll just let him sleep as much as he likes. What were other people's experiences? xx

julfin · 07/10/2016 00:33

I've just discovered a brilliant TV channel called Baby TV (channel 623 on our system). It's great for when your baby's sleep is out of kilter after jabs (he slept for 6.5 hours and is now wide awake).
