Hopefully this works...

So we can keep in touch and pass on words of wisdom!

Perhaps someone clever could link to the stats?

Thom thank you! Smile

pulpi · 06/08/2016 05:34

We finally made it! Posted some details in the antenatal thread. Miguel David was born on 05/09/16 at a whooping 9 lbs 6 1/2oz. He's perfect and I'm overwhelmed with love for him. DH was an absolute star of a birthing partner. Full labour details once I'm no longer shattered.

primarynoodle · 06/08/2016 06:53

Sent dh to 24 hr tesco for Infancol tonight! Thom and Indians - do your little ones ever sound like they're gasping/choking during feeds and really squirmy?

Waheyyyy pulpi! Congratulations GrinGrinWineCakeFlowersStar what a whopper! Hope you're all recovering well, looking forward to photo. Great name!

Ivy is a wonderful name :)

Today marks the anniversary of my eldest daughters birth and death, my little angel Ellie Ann Jones, we miss her lots and she would have been a great sister (although if she was here we wouldn't have Annie). Can't believe how much has happened in one year - not even sure why I'm posting, just want to tell someone I guess! Don't want her to be forgotten :(

Congratulations pulpi! Love the name!

socktastic · 06/08/2016 07:09

Big hugs to you primary take it easy today and cuddle Annie as much as possible

Rubytuesday2980 · 06/08/2016 07:12

Congratulations pulpi! Enjoy your first days as a new mummy x

primary keep talking about Ellie, today will always be her birthday. Thank you for sharing with us and squeeze Annie extra tight today xx

beckslovestimmy · 06/08/2016 09:16

Happy birthday Ellie. Look after yourself today Primary. Also with infacol it takes a while to get in their system.

Congratulations Pulpi welcome to the world Miguel. Looking forward to a pic and all the details.

MrsRolly · 06/08/2016 09:27

Yay welcome Pulpi! What a weight congratulations, awesome name.

Primary FlowersFlowers hug Annie extra tight, it's good to talk and remember Ellie once someone is loved they are never forgotten.

We had a horrendous night last night but it's one of two truly awful no sleep and Raff is 3 weeks tomorrow so can't complain too much just wish the poor boy could shake the snots that are plaguing him. Should have just given up and gone and watched the opening ceremony on playback!
Typically have a busy day today as well with DH recording with his band all weekend long so just the three of us. Thankfully for us all he is still stupidly cute so all is forgiven and I shall eat an extra piece of cake to get through Wink

Ivy is a beautiful name, I love nature names if Raff had been a girl I loved either Willow or Juniper.

AnnaT45 · 06/08/2016 09:50

Love ivy kate so cute!!

pulpi you did it!! Hurray! Love the name. We will need a pic when you get mo Grinhope you're recovering ok?

primary I would def look into reflux. It's normal for them to be sick after feeds but if Annie is doing that whilst screaming a lot and not settling then it could be something else. You can do things like keep her upright for at least 20 mins post feed. I know that's a pain but putting down too quickly can make it worse. You can also prop up the mattress at the head end (put a rolled up blanket or towel under it) which helps them too. Try those things to see if it helps but def go to the GP Monday if she's feeding non stop and unsettled. Babies should cry but not constantly. I hope that helps? Extra hugs from Annie today for you xx

Grace fed solidly from 1.30-5 last night but then slept till 9 so I had a good chunk of sleep. My section scar is really sore today so need to just relax in bed and rest. DH on DD1 entertainment duty. They're off to a garden centre to look at the fish apparently! X

dats · 06/08/2016 09:51

primary big hug to you on Ellie Ann's day. I'm so glad you have Annie to help celebrate Ellie's life.

Rolly could have written your post re rubbish night! Maybe it's a 3 week thing?! I was disappointed to find no Olympics on when I finally went downstairs at 5.30!

kate also love Ivy, congrats!

Bluebs hope you got some sleep! Car seat guidance: I was told 2hrs at a time but to echo what others said - that that guidance really only refers to regular users of car seats. A one-off long journey is not going to doing any harm. Plus you'd have to stop for feeds, most likely.

dats, 21 days xx

PS worktops being installed today! I am very excited as kitchen will look almost done (despite sink and hob remaining unconnected). I'm sure you've been dying to know about my DIY progress Grin

dats · 06/08/2016 09:52

Going to doing? Yes, clearly I meant that Hmm

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 10:43

Congratulations pulpi! Welcome to the world Miguel!! Well done you to you two and DH

Thinking of you and dear Ellie primary - today must be very bitter sweet for you. Lots of cuddles with Annie and important to let yourself be sad if you are. Sending love and hugs xxxx

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 10:46

P.s. rolly and dats it must be 3 week thing! Mo has been a bit of a monster this week and has grown loads!!! Day 23 and he seems more settled (will live to regret saying this very soon no doubt)! Whoever had the motto of "this will pass" - thank you, it's kept me sane this week amongst the constant feeding, savaged boobs and zero sleep!

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 10:46

kate - ivy is a gorgeous name!

primarynoodle · 06/08/2016 14:43

Dats I have so much respect for you living in a diy hell with a newborn! I'd go insane!! (Nesting instinct still going strong)

We have been to the garden centre and brought a lovely plant and an engraved plaque which will be Ellie's plant. Think it will help me as I can still care for it and help it to grow (apparently eventually it will grow huge!) so I will still feel like she's here and she lives on physically, not just in my head. Thanks for your lovely words everyone, they mean a lot. It is a sad day but Cuddles with Annie are helping

Hope all of the babies are starting to settle, Annie had a rough few days at 3 weeks too and then literally grew out of her newborn clothes overnight!

Anyone bottle feeding finding they're using 2 bibs per feed? I'm not sure how much is going into a little tummy and how much is going into clothing/bibs! It's like it's squirting out the sides of him mouth as he swallows.
I could collect the bibs from one day, wring them out and create a while new feed!

primart what a lovely idea. Perfect memorial for little Ellie.

Bluebell20 · 06/08/2016 15:40

primary big hugs to you today. The plant sounds like a lovely way to remember Ellie. I've been thinking about you today, and I was thinking that in a funny way Annie is your legacy from Ellie, as you couldn't have the happiness of her without the sadness you've been through. Much love to you xxx

pulpi hooray hooray, congratulations! Can't wait to hear all about the birth. Doesn't surprise me that your DH was fab; sounds like he's been a legend throughout. Welcome Miguel!

dats I'm really glad to know about this 2 hour thing as it will make journeys a lot easier!! Although I'm still not going to the wedding; can't face feeding in multiple services there and back - it would take fricking forever. Having lived with temporary chipboard work surfaces for months when we did our house, I totally appreciate the work surface joy!

My DH is pulling an almost 12 hr work day today, so his mum very kindly came up this morning for half the day. We've been for a walk and a coffee, and she watched Ruben while I had a shower and two hour sleep - and in that time she also cleaned our kitchen. I could have cried! I felt so good when I came downstairs after a sleep to find everything looking lovely! I feel so much more sane!

Just leaked through my second Tshirt of the day, though. What with the baby and my leaky boobs, our laundry seems to have tripled...

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 17:10

Hooray for work surfaces dats and MIL bluebell!

primary - the plant is just lovely. We have a climbing rose as our first pregnancy ended in mc at 11 weeks. I always think of the baby that never arrived and am so grateful for Maurice. Very different to your devastating loss but I know that having a plant in the garden will really help xxxx

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 17:17

Can I ask a BF question? When does the pain go?! Mo has such a strong suck he's bruising my boobs. They're so sore! Is this right? His latch is good I think. I'm starting to worry though that this will be it for 6 months....I'd really like to keep breast feeding.

primarynoodle · 06/08/2016 17:45

Cheery - I strongly believe that a loss of a baby is just as devastating whatever the age or circumstance. I'm glad that your rose helps you - I hope it will bring me the same comfort with the breastfeeding - how old is mo now? I definitely had pain for the first couple of weeks but was totally gone before week 3.

Bluebell thank you that's so lovely Flowers

Big hugs to anyone that has suffered a pregnancy loss in the past, incase you didn't know apparently people refer to subsequent living children as rainbows As after the horrible storm that is losing a baby, the sun comes out and a rainbow appears. I think that's a lovely analogy. I'll stop being soppy now ;)

Is there only one mum left to deliver from the July group now? Can't believe the spread of ages! My little one is one month now and pulpi just got her brand new sprog ShockShock

Adam is also a rainbow baby. Always think about the one that never was and what life would be like. However, maybe it was to happen for us to have as beautiful a boy as Adam. Flowers

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 18:29

Ah a rainbow baby - that's lovely x

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 18:30

primary - Mo is 4 weeks on Weds.

Cheery1 · 06/08/2016 18:32

Oops didn't mean to post! Mo is 4 weeks - we're a bit behind on BF as we didn't really start til day 5 as he was in an incubator. Maybe pain will go soon!

dats · 06/08/2016 19:09

Cheery with DD, it took a while for bf to be pain free. I think because she was quite little and had minor tongue tie and I didn't know what I was doing. Probably 12w before totally painless but it did improve slowly. It was shite. But it def improved.

This time is much better although I def have more issues with my right side. I also have done something to my elbow which means holding the giant baby is really painful!
