I have downloaded a program that says it has resized the picture, gone to member profiles and where as when I tried before there was a link for starting a conversation with a picture, I can't find that now!! GRRRRR!!!

George has woken up, I will try again in a bit!

Hiya all,

Hattie, - I was saying the same thing to my DP just last week about HVs acting surprised at anything you report about your LO. He suggested that they probably have some weird form of 'encouragement-training' that they have to practice in a mirror and are then have to take an exam. My view is that before they met my LO, they had never met one and certainly never owned one!

Debsy, - The rocker is an old Gracco one that I bought cheaply from a girl at a coffee morning. I can't find the model no., - it's not brilliant but it rocks! They're expensive new!

Thanks NJ, for your comforting words, - I've started to believe that maternal sanity is also an important thing to strive for as well as a well-fed, looked after baby!

NatalieJane · 12/01/2007 13:35

LOL Bethbe, you are 100% right, I'll make a 'bad mother' of you yet!! I even put George in a swing, with music and lights, told you he never cries....!! LOL

Bethbe · 12/01/2007 14:01

Maybe we should start a BAD MOTHERS thread.......?

NatalieJane · 12/01/2007 14:35

LOL I expect it will have already been done!!

Has anyone done anything with the child trust fund thingy yet?

Mummy2TandF · 12/01/2007 14:47

Just a quick one - but lovely pics everyone - I will try to get another one on of Freya, but TBH I don't really have time to even take a photo, let along post it on MN! LOL!

LOL Mygirl, fishies??? You have too many kiddies!! LOL

I think it is important for them to spend some time independantly, it is charactor building... does that make me sound less like a bad mother??!!

Forgot to say, been meaning to all day, George (5 weeks yesterday) has his first 3-6 month outfit on today he has been in the 3-6m sleepsuits for a couple of weeks, and the ones from Adams are already getting tight on him, but he has his first big boy outfit on today!! Can't wait to get him weighed, HV is coming on the 17th

...and they are not fire engines, they are nee nahs!!! Get with it woman!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 13/01/2007 09:20

Blimey i have missed alot!

We have had Jack in hospital again with the whole men c rash, luckily this time they say it was just a virus so he wasn't pumped full of anti biotics and he thankfully seems fine now. We have his appointment date for his sweat test for CF. I can't wait to find out one way or another weather he has it to put my mind at rest.

Harry is fine wieghing hearly 11lb's now at 9 weeks, chunky little man!
He seems to be settling a bit now and slept a whole 7 hours last night without waking! now al i have to do is get him in his own cot and we will be sorted!
He is really getting a little personality of his own now, he smiles and makes little cute baby sounds.
He loves being naked i have never met a baby yet who loves being in the nuddy as much as him! As soon as the nappy comes off he grins and smiles and kicks his little legs about.

We have to go to lunch with FIL and Step MIL today, i suppose it's not to bad though.
They haven't met Harry yet so it will be nice for them to see him.

Have a good weekend.

Sorry to hijack thread,
CharleeSunnySunSun, I was reading your thread from Nov when you were talking about a small lump behind the nipple. I can feel a small lump under my left nipple (I'm bf) and I wondered what happened to yours? Was it due to bf?

Thanks, Myrtle (Sept 06 thread)

HappyCatandIzzy · 13/01/2007 20:40

Hi everyone. I like the photos.
It's ages since I've been on here. Had a few problems. Izzy is not gaining weight like the HV wants and they think it's coz I'm not eating enough - I thought I was eating too much as I've started gaining weight again recently after losing some after the birth. So I'm trying to eat more and am hoping she'll weigh in at a better weight next week. She is 10 weeks old and is 9lb 12oz, and was 7lb 14oz at birth. Is this small?

I've had a few problems myself. After 10 weeks I am still bleeding so GP is sending me for an ultrasound to look for retained products. I'm really scared that I'll end up with a D&C so will not be able to breastfeed while I'm in hospital. I am trying to express, but I only get 2oz each time so Isabelle will probably have to have formula for some feeds, which is ok as long as she'll take the breast again afterwards. Can I feed her straight away when I've had general anaesthetic? And what do I do about the pain when I'm sat in hospital with enormously full boobs and Isabelle is at home with her Daddy? The whole situation is just rubbish!

Sorry. Rant over. I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I hope my next post will be more positive.

Mummy2TandF · 13/01/2007 22:08

Happycatandizzy - sorry to hear that you are having a rough time of it, if it is any help, my friend bled for 16 weeks after having her lo and she was fine - no need for any intervention, so I have my fingers crossed for you Also, one of the mums at the toddler group I go to with ds had a baby on 7th October, the baby weighed 8lbs 2oz and on Friday (baby was 14 weeks) she only weighed in at 10lbs and she is being bottle fed[hmmm] so you are not alone and if Izzy doesn't seem hungry, then it can't really be harming her IMO - In my experience, you can't distract a hungry baby, they will scream and scream until they are fed, so if you have a smiley happy baby you must be doing something right enough from me anyway - I have posted another pic of Freya, it is not the best in the world but it is hard to get a picture without ds trying to get in it and although it's nice to have both of them, I do want to try to get some with dd on her own! here she is

staceym11 · 13/01/2007 22:40

hi everyone,

sorry you're having such a bad time happycatandizzy, hope things start looking up soon!

well we seem to being doing quite well recently, the anti d's have kicked in and we'r coping a bit better. im being introduced to my 'volunteer' from home start on mon and have an appointment with the lady who runs the young mums group too so hopefully our calender will start getting fuller and il meet some people so i wotn be stuck in the flat all day with a chatterbox and keiran!

keiran is doing fine, hes a happy little chap and like charlees lo he loves being naked, as soon as the nappy is whipped off hes singing his heart out and cracking great smiles!!!

went out for dinner with keiran and dd tonight (and dh of course) it was only the second time we'v ventured out for dinner all 4 of us but like last time it was great, keiran slept - ate - slept and dd ate all her dinner like a brill little girl and even managed half of daddies banana split!!

right must go been sat here ages listing stuff on ebay, yes im finally getting round to selling my dds baby clothes! lol, by the time i finish keiran will be growing out of all his too!
