Stacey - Am glad things are looking up for you - you will have to let me know your ebay ID - I might fancy some of your dd's bits for Freya.
Where abouts do you live again? I seem to remeber it is quite a way away from me - but if you are close enough maybe we could meet up, my ds is the same age as your dd (and also does not stop talking from the minute he gets up until the minute he goes to bed) so at least they would keep themselves occupied

staceym11 · 14/01/2007 10:35

im in redhill surrey,my ebay id is nick246850 mostly got newborn and 0-3 months on atm, but i do have a lot of bigger stuff to go on, just havnt had a chance to do it, and i dont wanna put too much on at once as il just get so confused!!!

well keiran has decided hes not gunna eat more than 3 ozs at a feed again, but hes growing as he is sleeping all the time, so im not worried, maybe he'll eat properly again next week!

Thanks Stacey - there are a couple of bits there actually - my username is tobysbabybits (just incase I bid for them, you will know who I am then)

staceym11 · 14/01/2007 18:03

thats alright mummy2tandf, i thought it was you who bid!! there are some really cute bits and il get them out quick for ya, i know these babies are growing fast but those newborn bits are quite roomy, especially the fleece jumper and padded trousers. they are great, used to put them over dds normal clothes to go for walks in the buggy!

podglet · 15/01/2007 10:02

Hi all,

Just had a quick look at all the photos, they are all gorgeous!

Happycat, so sorry to hear you are having a rough time. afraid I have no more advice than what is already on here re the weight gain but i agree that if she is happy and healthy and gaining weight slowly but surely thenI cannot see that there is too much of a prob.

charlee - how was the dreaded lunch? when is the sweat test for your DS1? thinkng of you...

Stacey - glad to hear you are feeling better. I have found a couple of mother and baby groups here which I have found really helped, so I hope they do for you too.

DS is getting really long now and is nearly in his 3 - 6 month stuff. I don't want to put him in it yet as it means he is growing up again and really not my tiny boy anymore but his toes are beginning to scrunch up in his sleep suits He has his head control sorted most of the time (when he is sleepy he still likes mummy to help out!) and his reflux seems to be under control from the Gaviscon.

Happy Monday to everyone

saralou100 · 15/01/2007 13:17

hi happycat... sorry your not doing too well, most gynae wards have the facilities for you to keep your baby in hospital so you should be able to keep her with you and continue feeding her! an ERPC is effectively day surgery, unless you encounter any problems which might make you stay so you shouldn't be in for too long. the procedure it's self takes no more than 30mins, so a very light GA is used, waking up is very easy after and you'll be up walking around within the hour, also no reason why you can't feed straight after. the only time you would actally need to be seperated from izzy is whilst you were in theatre.. unless of course you don't want her in hospital with you, in which case you'll need to take your pump and a microwave/coldwater steriliser with you (you may even be able to borrow one from the peadiatric ward).. they should have a microwave you can use. this way you can express when she would be due foood! i hope this helps ut your mind at rest, but i hope more you don't have to do any of it at all!

saralou100 · 15/01/2007 13:37

hello everyone else!!

all the baby pics are lovely! i may get round to putting one on myself one day!! gotta get them off my camera and put them on the computer 1st though..

ryan's doing very well.. he's my litlle sleeping, eating, pooping machine! still very contented! took him into work today so all the girls could see him and they all commented on how contented and calm he is! they were all telling me how fab i looked and skinny.. could have listened to those compliments all day!! (although i think they just remember the huge bump, i still have a stone to lose!)

my wounds still not healed, i now have thrush in it and one stitch that just will not heal! dr has sent off another swab, but is holding back the anti-biotics to see what the results are and how it goes with the cream! i'm getting bored of this now though!

tomorrow we have an appointment to see a surgeon for dp to have a vasectomy... i keep offering to do it myself with 2 bricks, dp is not keen on this idea and would like to hear what the surgeon has to offer so definitely no more babies here.. kinda sad really!

speak to ya all soon xx

staceym11 · 15/01/2007 13:43

oh i cant do this picture malarky, might get dh to help one of these days so you can all see my big fat chubby boy!

Debbsyandson · 15/01/2007 15:23

happycat hope things get soted out soon
Stace have you got photos on your computer?

NatalieJane · 15/01/2007 17:06

Recent picture of George for anyone who is interested enough

Sorry some of you are having a bad time of it, Charlee, I don't know what to say, I don't know how you are staying so strong, I'd have been in bits by now, keep going, we are all behind you xxx

We spent the weekend in car showrooms and getting George some new clothes, he looks so much more comfortable in 3-6 months, and the long sleeve tops don't look like t'shirts and his trousers now reach down to his feet again!! LOL bless him, the breast feeding woman came to see him today and she couldn't believe how big he is, can't wait for Wednesday when he is weighed!

Charleesunnysunsun · 15/01/2007 17:32

Myrtle - Yes the lump was a blocked duct, it has gone now with no prblms, try massaging the lump while your feding but if it doesn't go see your g.p just to be on the safe side. They are very common while bfing though.

Jacks sweat test is next Wednesday, im dreading it but i need to know wether he has it or not to stop me going crazy. Im staying strong at the moment if he does have cf then there is alot of treatments for it if he dosn't then fantastic.

Gorgeous baby photos everyone i will put one up of the boys when i can get a good enough piccy of them both.

Speak soon. Hugs to all

Saralou! How brave geetin a vasectomy it seems so final!
Although saying that if Jack has got Cystic Fybrosis then we will seriously consider it as i wouldn't want to risk another child having it, which really chokes me up as i want a least one more baby, maybe two in a few years time.

I have a little more time to post, i have just put Harry down in his cot alone in the room for the first time with the monitor on and he's asleep!
He has been so much happier today and you know the only thing i have done differently?

Not given him any bottles only breast! He has had 4-5 big feeds and then had a lavender bath and now he is sleeping.

OP posts:
Debbsyandson · 15/01/2007 19:15

charlee hope everyone goes well next week xx
what do you mean by a lavender bath?

HappyCatandIzzy · 15/01/2007 22:04

Thank you so much everyone for your words of encouragement. I do feel a lot better having read this thread today. Izzy gets weighed again on Thursday, but I'm determined not to stress about it any more as she really seems fine. My bleeding has improved loads since I saw the GP and she put me on antibiotics, so maybe I've got an infection and won't need to be in hospital at all. I'm still waiting for my scan appointment so don't know yet. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your support. I don't know what I'd do without you all.

Charleesunnysunsun · 16/01/2007 09:12

A lavendar bath is just what i call a bath full of baby lavendar bath products! Johnsons do lavendar baby bath, shampoo and talc that i use and the lavender helps him get off to slepp. I also put 2 drops of lavendar essential oil in the water it's totally safe and a natural sleep aid.

saying that shortly after i posted that post he woke up screaming and i had to bring him back downstairs.

Anyone still co sleeping with there DC's?

OP posts:
staceym11 · 16/01/2007 09:18

charlee, i would be co sleeping if i wasnt so scared of squashing him! i deal better tired coz he wakes up than tired coz i didnt sleep for fear of rolling on him!!! lol

Charleesunnysunsun · 16/01/2007 09:20

It's just that i can get harry into his bed at the begining of the night sometimes but i get up in my sleep and get him out his bed into ours and once he's been in our bed he doesn't want to go in his cot iyswim.
Im not quite sure how to combat the problem as i am fast asleep when i get him out and i don;t even think he is awake when i do it!

Had a horrible night last night with all three kids! DS1 and DS2 both have threadworms and were up for hours screaming about being itchy. Is it possible for babies to get this too? I had some medicine left over from the last time they had it and it says for the whole family to take the medicine, but if breast feeding not to take it. Just washing my hands about 100 times more now. Hopefully the medicine has taken effect and we will have a more silent night!

NatalieJane · 16/01/2007 09:43

Charlee it completely depends how tired I am, most of the time I manage to be good and actually sit on our bed and feed him, change his bum and then he will go back down in his rocker (I know bad mummy, it does lie flat so it is OK for him to sleep in it, he just doesn't seem to like his travel cot) but if I am shattered then I do lie down with him and feed him and normally I am alseep by the time he has finished his feed!

FB, I haven't got the foggiest about thread worms, but I hope you get them sorted out, poor little things, how frustrating for them - and you! I would ring the pharmacy and ask about the medicine, it can't do any harm, and if you can't use that particular one, there might be another you can use whilst breast feeding.

Does anyone else find that if you just lie your baby on the floor they just stay there for ages? I take George's trousers off because he likes to kick his legs about, but he just lies there tooting around, babbling and grinning away

Mummy2TandF · 16/01/2007 10:16

Hi everyone - NJ, I can't lay Freya on the floor until after 7:30pm when ds has gone to bed for the fear of him jumping on her! But when I do lay her on her playmat, she loves it and grabs at all the toys
Well - I am off to the doctors today with Freya She has been very snuffly since she was born, and I just assumed that she had a cold because ds did aswell, but she is 11 weeks old now and is still like it (infact it may even be getting worse) and I am a little concerned now. I bought one of those nasel degongesters (sp?) but it is not clearing anything and it sounds so horrible plus she is fine when she is asleep, so she can't be blocked up or it would affect her sleep. I hope that they can do something to help because it is horrible listening to her snorting away - it upsets mde

fatbetty · 16/01/2007 10:36

I know what you mean Mummy2 about listening to your LO snorting away. I had to use the aspirator on Madeleine quite a bit after she had been in the hospital. But at least it wasn't as bad as when they sucked her out in the hospital. It just sounded awful!! Hope they can help you out. Have you tried a humidifier?

Took DS1 to nusery this morning with the worms - DH was a bit upset I think that I was doing that, but he had some medicine for it. Rather embarassing telling the teachers that my son has worms. I'm sure DS1 is telling all his friends that he has wiggly worms. Now I can't get that Wiggly Woo song out of my head.
