vickyors how is your LO after her jabs? Mine had his on Monday and he hasn't been the same since. He doesn't seem ill, but for the past couple of nights he has woken up several times a night - like every 1-2hours - and is feeding for longer. he has also been bursting into tears and cries like I've never heard him cry, completely out of character :-( . Anyone else?

vickyors · 31/03/2016 18:11

Hey elvi.. Our LO was very grumpy all afternoon, but slept well (we woke her to feed as she was so sleepy..) but otherwise fine .. She has been quite grizzly for a week or so, but my wonder weeks app seems to think she's going through a developmental leap, and she is starting to do all the things it says, so I am really hoping we're coming out of this grumpy patch!

littlejeopardy · 05/04/2016 09:50

We have the second round of injections tomorrow. That's come round really fast. Think this time I will give her baby paracetamol before we go.
After a week of her getting better at not crying in the evenings I decided to stop giving her infacol only to have a horrendous evening yesterday with her in pain with trapped wind. She's back on the infacol today.
Good news is she slept till 6am this morning and is seeming to sleep longer during the nights in general. All swings and roundabouts!
How is everyone doing?

crunchymummy · 06/04/2016 19:28

Hey hope I'm not too late to join - DS was born 19th Jan, coping ok so far but first few weeks were horrendous not going to deny that haha!

At the moment I'm finding hard getting used to not being able to do much as DS cries whenever I'm not with him any longer than 15 minutes - anyone else?

But have to mention I am so in love with him, getting used to our new life together :)

littlejeopardy · 07/04/2016 13:54

Hey Crunchy, I was late to the thread too. First weeks were horrendous, so exhausting. My DD is nearly 13 weeks and it is getting easier. Still can't put her down for long when she is awake so I am the same in struggling to get things done but as long as she is happy the main thing is covered. Smile

crunchymummy · 07/04/2016 18:08

littlejeopardy My DS is 11 weeks and we spend most of the day cuddling and feeding - I've sort of thought to hell with housework/anything else and also have given up trying to feed every three or four hours and just bf on demand now which can vary from every two hours to every hour but they are only going to be this little once got the make the most of the cuddles and how he wants mummy all the time :)

littlejeopardy · 07/04/2016 19:38

Yeah I am bf on demand too. She still wants feeding about every two hours. Although she has just started sucking her thumb which seems to help settle her when she is upset and reducing the comfort feeding.

Bexwhit85 · 07/04/2016 19:46

I thought i'd say hello as a late joiner too Smile

My LO is 11 weeks on Sunday. We've done quite well so far, he has Colic but its starting to ease off a bit (though 5pm is still a little bit of a nightmare still). He's also starting teething - aren't we lucky! Trouble is all the teethers available are too big for his little mouth! (definitely doesn't get that from me)

vickyors · 08/04/2016 06:00

Welcome bex and crunchy! Hi all.. We're currently in South Africa seeing my parents in law, which is lovely.. The flight was brilliant, and DS2 was soooo good (DS1 was awake most of the night flight, poor scrap).

We've got to the milestone of 10 weeks and things are going better generally, although we still have some days when she is so unsettled! I feed her about every three hours now, and nights are going better.. She has an epic cluster feed from 5-7 then sleeps till about 3 and my OH gives her a bottle.. Some nights she wakes twice though.. But it is getting easier..

But bex I was wondering whether she has started teething as we've been having a lot of drooling..

Bexwhit85 · 08/04/2016 11:34

There is so much drool! Plus we have the flushed cheeks, the ear pulling, chewing on everything we can get into our little mouth (mostly his hand and his cuddly bunny ear). Oh and obviously the occasional uncontrollable fits of screaming.

However last night something strange happened. Normally he's down at about 7 then up for feeds at 11, 3 and 6. Last night he went down, had to rouse him at 11 and then he went down til 6.30. I woke up so confused! Probably a fluke but i didnt half appreciate the uninterrupted sleep Grin

LibertyBelles · 09/04/2016 13:01

DH just met someone else with a 10 week old who slept 7 hours last night! Gah why me, why did I get the non-sleeping, non-napping baby! Anyone else LO seriously unhappy when they're awake ATM the moment too - mine is crying all the time and hardly smiles - I feel like I am seriously harming her and ruining her development

Bexwhit85 · 09/04/2016 13:40

Don't worry, mine was a fluke. We were back to our normal behaviour of smiles and giggles and super awakeness at 3am today.

Whenever i read something that tells me how long they're supposed to nap for i laugh. DS is so awake all the time during the day. We have some kind of routine during the night, knowing from 7 He's roughly up every 3 hours but the daytime is just shot. However i do feel like I'm getting used to it now so i doesn't seem as bad.

I do worry I'm not doing enough with him during the day though, like i should be playing more or at least attend a group

Nousername2015 · 09/04/2016 15:24

liberty you're not alone. Ds is 13 weeks on Tuesday and we've had a few 4 hour stretches recently but it's usually about 3 hours ish.

Bexwhit85

Hey! I've been to a couple of those groups and whereas I enjoy the adult company of other mums it doesn't do much for my 11 week DS he just naps on me most of the time - I wouldn't feel any guilt for not going! Mine just likes napping and bf and cuddling all day long. He has a couple of toys and toys that are attached to his bouncy chair but he doesn't tolerate them for long haha :)

crunchymummy · 26/04/2016 16:59

Oh my goodness my boy is looking SO BIG!!! And he's "talking" making all these noises and looking at me and grabbing his toys... where has time gone?!

YorkieDorkie · 26/04/2016 17:00

Who knows!!! DD seems bigger every day Smile

LibertyBelles · 26/04/2016 19:59

How big are you babies - whenever you last got them weighed? My DD doesn't seem that big

crunchymummy · 26/04/2016 21:22

DS was nearly 13lb when he was weighed last, he was about 9 weeks :)

LibertyBelles · 26/04/2016 21:35

My DD is 12lb 4 at 12 weeks

Bexwhit85 · 26/04/2016 21:51

I'm having DS weighed tomorrow at 13 weeks. At 10 weeks he was 10lb 12

vickyors · 27/04/2016 20:27

Last time my LO was weighed she was 11 weeks and just over 13lbs.. She is incredibly tall though- she's just hit 3 months, yesterday, and she is in 6-9 month clothes.. I'm quite short (5,5) but my OH is 6 foot and my sisters are 5'10 and 5'11 and my folks are tall.. So it's not surprising she's big! She's not very chunky, but she is really long, and in proportion- she's on 90th centile for length and 75th I think for weight..

How is everyone getting on? I realised we must be out of the early craziness because some days I can get away without a nap..! But I still get nothing done all day!

LibertyBelles · 27/04/2016 21:11

vicky wow! My DD is 12lb 4 and on the 97th for height and is in 3-6 month clothes (she was 12 weeks on Monday) - crazy how they're all so different!

YorkieDorkie · 27/04/2016 21:22

DD is 13 weeks and following the 50th. Now wearing a Pavlik harness for DDH in left hip (you may have seen my thread). So it's a bit awkward to get her weighed. I'm estimating just over 12lbs. She's very slim and long! Not like mummy.

Bexwhit85 · 27/04/2016 22:24

Well today DS weighed 11lb 9oz, still following that 9th Centile line.

I think I've become immune to the disrupted sleep now, there are still the odd days i can't function and like Vicky days where i get absolutely nothing done!

crunchymummy · 27/04/2016 22:41

Really started to enjoy it now but likely Vicky I also get pretty much nothing done, suits me fine though I've embraced the messy kitchen floor ShockGrin
