I hope it's not just me, but I'm not sure who else is ff here. I think majority it bf?
Anyway, my little guy has been having way more than reconended amount of formula. Does anyone else get this? He is after a bottle (120ml/4oz) every 2.5 hrs!!

Elvis, he seems to like the infacol taste now. Licks lips!! Lol

Rpj16 · 19/03/2016 18:41

Elvi* damn autocorrect

Rpj16 · 19/03/2016 18:43

Also I meant to type, I hope it's not just me who forgets who's ff and who's bf!!! that could be read so wrong!

vickyors · 19/03/2016 20:08

I'm doing mixed feeding now. I bf all feeds, except 10pm and now a 2pm feed which are both ff. I have noticed the difference in my tiredness already. Bf worked fantastically for me in many ways, which was such a blessing, but I was shattered and finding it emotionally tough as I was constantly feeding and not able to interact with toddler, so now I can chat and play with my older daughter, and OH or someone else can do the 2pm feed, and OH does the 10pm so I get some sleep- and he has the experience of staying awake feeding while I sleep!!

Actually, a question about ff.. I'm still pretty new to it.. Does your LO drink a bottle straight down? My LO will drink a bit, then leave it for a bit, then maybe have the rest of the bottle after half an hour or so.. And she wanted it in the first place as she would cry.. It's all quite confusing! I don't want to leave her crying when she is hungry...

This morn cheese we were up at 5,6 and 7.30am Ugh. In bed now...

vickyors · 19/03/2016 20:09

Oh, and we used a gro bag and she loved it- she was clearly ready!

Rpj16 · 19/03/2016 21:19

It depends, sometimes he will only have about a third, then stop, then scowl if I offer the bottle again, then like you said cry for more shortly after! But other times. He Will wolf down whole bottle. Today he hasn't left any, he's been so hungry!
My partner looks after him if he wakes up between 9pm til 4am (when he has evening off work), and then I take over from 4am onwards, but last night dp didn't get home from work until gone 11, so I was exhausted, ds was up from 3.30-5 (close to 4 so I got up), then had 30 min naps until 8.30. And my partner isn't due home til midnight tonight. I'm fucked and my son is wide awake. I truley admire and respect single mothers, it's hard with two parents, must be soo hard on your own!

Oh what a long post!

vickyors · 20/03/2016 17:10

Day of hideousness today.. LO has cried or been asleep all day.. No idea why. Resorted to calpol. Tired- and night hasn't even started!!

littlejeopardy · 20/03/2016 21:01

Ouch. Sorry Vicky, we've had the odd day like that. Its awful. Hope your LO sleeps well and recovers tonight.

vickyors · 21/03/2016 09:31

We were up every hour in the night. Night-mare. Literally!

Elvi1 · 22/03/2016 19:25

Jabs tomorrow Sad . Brought it up in my baby yoga class today and others just re-affirmed how horrible it is. Hope all is well with everyone.

Rpj16 · 23/03/2016 06:15

We went for jabs yesterday. He was screaming anyway. And jabs made it worse. It was quite sad.... Everyone Said he is a particularly loud baby! Slept like a log last night tho. Last feed at 1.30, up at 5.50. I can't believe it!

vickyors · 23/03/2016 07:16

Hope they go ok elvi and glad you had a good night rpj..

Elvi1 · 23/03/2016 08:22

Thanks, vickyors. my aunt is coming with me - someone to chat to in the waiting room to distract me and hoping I'll be less likely to break down into an emotional wreck.

Suppose silver lining that you got a better night's sleep rpj.hoping LO feeling better today

vickyors · 24/03/2016 18:38

Elvi how did it go? We have ours next week and dreading it.. On the plus side- now LO's cold is over the nights are better again.. How is everyone getting on? Getting up to nice things over Easter?

Elvi1 · 24/03/2016 22:20

He didn't have the jabs Angry! So my aunt drove over and came to the docs with me. We saw the doctor first and was meant to be seeing the nurse after for his injections, so I went to the reception to double check the appointment time to see how long we would need to wait only to be told that he won't be having his jabs today because they had a power cut the day before and had to throw out the immunisation etc! I was fuming and said that this was a big thing for me and my aunt had to take a morning off work to come with me and a phone call wouldn't have gone amiss!! Just been a series of f-ups from that surgery. The silver lining is that they have rescheduled for Monday which means my OH can come with me for support.

Anyway, until then have nice weekend ahead. Have friends staying for couple of nights, have brought lots of food and I may even express some milk so I can have a couple of drinks Smile. I have had the odd drink but I don't have more than one and time it when he's due a feed or just after.

Glad your nights have got better again vickyors, hope you have a nice weekend planned?

littlejeopardy · 26/03/2016 06:20

Oh that's rubbish! Wonder how long they would have let you wait in reception before telling you your second appointment was cancelled! Glad you got it sorted for Monday. We are spending the weekend finishing baby's bedroom. Decorating got abandoned at Christmas. Time to pick it up again!

Elvi1 · 26/03/2016 09:26

I know! I had already signed in for the appointment and only found out sooner rather than later cos Asked if I could meet with the nurse sooner after coming out of meeting with docs. Idiots.

We need to get onto our nursery- we thought no rush as baby will be in with us until at least 6 months, but would like to get it ready now. Hope you get it finished.

mrsjskelton · 26/03/2016 10:04

I'm so excited! DD slept from 10pm to 5.30am! Longest ever Smile a little fractured from about 3.30 with a few whinges but she kept dropping off again.

Rpj16 · 28/03/2016 04:13

We decorated ours when we moved in, then it became a clutter room and now it's a nursery again with a diy changing table. There was a seaside theme but people kept getting us woodland type stuff so it's just a miss-mash now 😂

Is anyone up now? Hoping to go back to sleep in a minute but dp and I woke to high pitched loud sudden screams. Very shocking. Had poo in nappy which was weird as he usuakky does one every other day and this is the 2nd one today. He also had 5o formula at 2am and was hungry for more. Was close to calling 111 for reassurance but he's settled now. think it was. the poo that made him upset.

Mrs how old is your DD? That's excellent

Rpj16 · 28/03/2016 08:21

Hes fine this morning :) maybe its another growth spurt.

mrsjskelton · 28/03/2016 11:10

She's 8 weeks but just went back to 2 awakenings last night Smile at least she let us enjoy the bank holiday!

littlejeopardy · 28/03/2016 17:32

Ah it's nice to get a block of sleep, even if it is just for one night! My LO slept from 10-5 last night. She's 11 weeks, First time she has ever done such a bug chunk. Mind you, she hadn't napped properly for three days!
Nursery is almost finished. We've gone for a Peter Pan theme. Just put up wall stickers of shadows of Peter, Wendy, Michael, John and Tinkerbell flying off. They have been stuck in a box since Christmas. Feels so good to get them on the wall.
Rpj Sorry, you had a stress start to your day. I would guess growth spurt too.

mrsjskelton · 29/03/2016 09:20

Aw Peter Pan theme sounds fab!

LibertyBelles · 29/03/2016 11:56

Hi all, DD is now 8 weeks and her sleeping pattern sounds very similar. Am currently feeding her to sleep for naps and at night....anyone having any success with the putting down sleepy but awake thing?

vickyors · 29/03/2016 18:07

Mrsj that sounds like really good progress.. And little that sounds similar to us.. We were doing a dream feed at 10.30, but she still seemed full from her 7pm feed and was then waking at about 3. We're now waiting until she wakes, then feeding her.. Last night she woke at 1, then again at 6.30, so that was progress. And the nursery sounds amazing! Ours stil looks like the spare room with a cot in it!

My LO had her jabs today and has been sooooo unsettled. Horrid. I wish they could talk! The wonder weeks app says she is going through a developmental leap- I hope we get through it soon.. That and jabs is tiring!
