Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Snap I turned the gas hob on the other day and didn't realise :( luckily Dh noticed.

Popz hugs hugs hugs! It'll get easier but I know it must be so hard X

Zyla how's the shagging going?

I did CC once. He went to sleep after 40 min but only slept 5 min and then got ill later that day so I couldn't repeat it. Since then I've decided it just isn't for me.

Dh and I were meant to be going to a friends for dinner tonight but she's cancelled due to illness, so we are going out for dinner instead Shock wahey for a date!!! Maybe it'll make me feel a bit more like shagging? I'm just not frigging interested.

Zyla with putting B down and not feeding each time like I used to we've got him down from 4 feeds to 1 in the past few days. He was going to bed at 7pm then feeding 10pm, 12/1, 3, 5 then up at 7. Last night it was feed at 12 then 7am! Hoping the wake ups stop when his cold goes.

Zyla you are indeed Wonderwoman! Would you like to come round here and sort my pair out? Exciting about the standing! Does she like to try and get inside the washing machine? P did that a lot when he could first stand. R is properly crawling and pulling himself to stand at 7 months so I do wonder if he might be an early walker. We never really child proofed the flat for P as he was such a good boy about not going into forbidden cupboards, etc. R is trouble so I may have to finally move the knife drawer out of reach.

Wow Zyla you're brave! Hope the night weaning works.

La hurray for less waking, glad you're getting more sleep

Popz hope it's got easier as the week has gone by. Weekend soon Smile

We're getting some long stretches in the night but not every night so I keep getting lulled into a false sense of security. I'm also struggling a bit to work out a routine for when I go away next week as we do different things at different times every day. His sleep is short naps morning and afternoon, and a long one at lunchtime, unless we've been out in the car or pram, in which case he sleeps virtually the whole time. I messed up and gave him too much tea yesterday so he wouldn't drink his bedtime bottle, then I tried to do a dream feed but he wouldn't wake enough to drink it - he won't feed when he's fully asleep!
Today's challenge is him being full and not tired at 4 for swimming. He's currently asleep and had lunch. I'm going to try giving him a bottle at 3, he might sleep a bit then.

Swimming is awful if we get it wrong!

honeysucklejasmine · 26/02/2016 14:54

Ooh, there was a troll? What did they want? nosy

Oooh, by the way, I had a babeeeeee! Exciting!

Hobbit19 · 26/02/2016 17:04

Ha ha Honey!

La, wow! That is amazing about your wake ups! Well done! Long may it continue.

ZylaB · 26/02/2016 18:00

Ended up having two for 9 hours today!

la shagging didn't work last cycle :(. Will commence shagging again soon when the icing tests tell me to!

snap at the moment she insists on using the sofa as a soft play, with no regard for safety and climbs over it and would fall a lot if I didn't catch her!

ZylaB · 26/02/2016 18:01

Also, I cooked slow cooked lamb shanks with garlic and rosemary for tea, with veg....then we both decided we wanted pizza (sorry slimming world! I was going to be good) so it's in the fridge to reheat tomorrow lol

RPopz · 26/02/2016 18:32

Thanks for the love viroids! I survived my first week! Whoop!

The witch seems to have exitted the building so let Operation Maternity Leave #2 commence! Grin

Congratulations again honey - welcome to the dark side! (I would like to take credit for the phrase "doing a baby" if I may? I think La can back me up!?)

Some epic mumming today Zyla - well done you! Mmmm, pizza. Dominoes?

Eeek snap - can you get an overnight break somehow? Spare room + ear plugs?

Forgotten what everyone else has said already.... Back later x

DulcetMoans · 27/02/2016 07:38

Well done popz! Hopefully it will get easier from here, and it won't be for long as mat leave two will start within the year! Is it weird going back to TTC?

You totes done a baby honey, woohoo! Come in and tell us about it!

How did the rest of the day with two go zyla? Think you could manage it?!Good luck with the night weaning, hopefully you can make quick work of it.

Timing the naps and activities can be a nightmare purple. We've not had a swimming melt down yet but he gets a grump on getting changed as he's had enough by then. Hope your timings worked out.

There is always going to be done jk d of consequence to not sleeping snap - in a bad week earlier this month I went to bed twice with the oven on. Wake up to a toasty kitchen and overwhelming guilt that I might kill my family!

Did you get your shag on la? We are long overdue a date night. You've motivated me to sort it! How much baby chat was there, honestly?!

cookielove · 27/02/2016 10:29

la E still really isn't eating but yesterday he had a better today and this morning he had all his breakfast which is good. I also found a new tooth yesterday so maybe that is why he has been so hard to feed!

We have the inlaws over from France the flat has been cleaned and we are juat waiting for them to get here. They haven't seen E since he was 4 weeks old so he obviously won't remember them although he does see them on Skype so they have has contact.

zyla yay for coping with two! And yay for standing! I love that E walks but hate that means he can't stand sitting for two long when out an about. He is now doing excellent walking holding onto to my hand so goes where I want him to no just any random direction!

Argh we have lost E's red book!

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 27/02/2016 10:58

No sleep again here. R has croup and we had to call an ambulance last night as he woke up choking on his secretions and struggling to breathe. It was really frightening but I managed not to panic and he eventually coughed out masses of thick yellow sputum which had been blocking his airway. He had a dose of steroids at A&E and is now sleeping peacefully in his bed. He also has a bacterial eye infection so is looking a real treat. Poor little mite. I am beyond tired now. Sad

jellypi3 · 27/02/2016 12:04

Oh no poor you snap. Glad he's ok but that must have been so scary. Hope you get some rest today!

Good luck with the in laws cookie. My mother is visiting from France next week, I'm dreading it.

Ooh date night! That sounds lovely. I'm hoping R decides to take a bottle eventually so we can do date night again. If you ebf and they won't take a bottle do you basically not get time away from baby???

Also how long did you all wait till your first pp shag? I couldn't even imagine it right now as I'm still healing, but I think DP is getting a bit desperate lol!

RPopz · 27/02/2016 14:40

Haha, tell him to bugger off jelly! Grin Honestly I think it was about 4 or 5 months post partum here but you're "allowed" to after 6 weeks. Bf hormones seem to make me lose all interest in sex.

Minipopz was ebf and would never entertain the bottle.... I didn't often leave him but it's certainly possible. When they get a bit older they can go for much longer periods without milk. Especially if you're not around. Even now minipopz will go hours and hours without boob but as soon as he sees me (/ my boobs?) he's "desperate" for it! I used to leave emergency milk for when I left him with his Dad but it never got used. You could try cup feeding if jellybaby doesn't like bottles.

It is a little weird Dulcet - am hoping to be a bit more chilled out about it this time!

Poor R Sad How scary for you all. Hope you can all grab a bit of sleep today snap! Xxxx BrewFlowers

cookielove · 27/02/2016 17:50

Yay well done honey

And yay E ate all his dinner!!

Hobbit19 · 27/02/2016 23:13

Oh my gosh Snap, how scary! Well done for staying calm, you must be shattered.

Jelly, I would introduce the bottle sooner rather than later, and you probably want to give it every few days so R stays used to it. We do one every other day. I would give a bottle every day if I could as I would get more of a break! You're right though, those bottles signal freedom to me! I've just ordered a Medela Swing job so hopefully I can express a little bit faster/little bit more!

I feel pre - menstrual. Pippa is 9 weeks old. This is not possible... right????

jellypi3 · 28/02/2016 03:56

pud I think different people get it at different times. Gx it's not if you dont want her back yet!

I'm trying the bottle 2 or 3 times a week.bht the last few times she's just refused it outright. She's had mam teats and the medela calma teats. Ive got some advent ones to try as well. I never knew babies were so fussy!

When do you express for your bottles? I've been expressing one boob whilst feeding her the other.

jellypi3 · 28/02/2016 04:03

Also klaxon alert! Not only have I just slept in my own bed for the first time in days, the child has also slept from 12 - 4am! To top it off she also went down in her sleepy head whilst it was in her next to me instead of our bed!!

I feel like I've won at life all of a sudden lol! (Disclaimer: I am totally aware it won't last...)

Hobbit19 · 28/02/2016 04:08

Hmmm okay. Do you want me to send you a Tommy Tippee closer to nature bottle/teat? I bought a box of 6 when pregnant (I don't know why!) and we only use one!
I usually express after her 7am feed. She goes down for her nap about 9ish so I do it then. I'm not coordinated enough to feed and pump at the same time! However last night she had a bottle at 6pm and.then.o fed her at 10pm but was so engorged by 4am that I had to get the pump out to take the edge off and did 3oz in 5 mins!

Hobbit19 · 28/02/2016 04:09

Ha ha Yey Jelly and R! And you never know, it might last!

jellypi3 · 28/02/2016 06:14

Wow that's impressive! I tried expressing last night and got less than 1oz in 10 mins so clearly she had drained me lol.

I did the same with the mam bottles, bought a big box of them! I'll take you up on the Tommy tipee offer, if you want to try a mam I'll swap you! Or pm me on fb and I'll send you some money for it :)

cookielove · 28/02/2016 09:16

Hello hello hello :)

Way way way way back when I breastfed E i would feed from both, pump from both and then repeat!

Babies are fussy buggers, E never took to tommee tippee or advent or calma bottles he took nuby and dr brown when he was a wee bit older! Now he alternates between the two with no problems.

Erm he is still asleep! We may have to wake him soon! !
