Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Oh la he's just being an almighty dick and really needs to realise his responsibilities! How has his been for the rest of the time that B has been ill?

Toast85 · 26/01/2016 13:50

Angry la I'm fuming on your behalf. Glad you've got your mum, she sounds like a superstar. Just can't believe he thinks that's acceptable when you have a baby! **
**
Sad jc thrush! No! Hope it's better soon. And the poorly piggy!

Shock dulcet not the magnums! Pretty sure Melba was 30% magnum when born (and 20% cake, 10% quarter pounder with cheese). I'm boycotting creme eggs since they changed the chocolate recipe used last year. Though I expect I'll cave before Easter. But they're not as good any more.

So, boob does feel a bit better today. Still sore and swollen but not as bad. I tried to get a GP appointment but couldn't be seen til next week, and missed all the urgent appointments for today (also not entirely sure it is officially 'urgent' as Melba can still feed from it and it's not infected afaik). It's booby group tomorrow so I will go along and ask for advice, tbh they'll probably be more help than the GP at the moment anyway.

Went for coffee with nct mums and babies this morning and now snuggling under a sleeping baby. My tummy is rumbling for lunch but I'm enjoying the cuddles and dh is home in a bit so I'll ask him to make me something then. I'm craving pickled onion monster munch now la! Not sure I can really ask dh to go out to get me some, that's pushing it, right? I'll save that for when if I get pregnant again in the future.

RPopz · 26/01/2016 14:25

Afternoon ladies, how are the boobs doing?

niff I think its pretty normal for Dad's not to get much of a look in for those first few weeks. Especially if you're breastfeeding. Would he try wearing her in the sling? They'll find their groove soon enough Smile

Hope piggy's hospital stay is a short one jc!

Ugh. La. What a douche. Going through a phase of being an ignorant self absorbed twunt seems to be some kind of right or passage towards fatherhood apparently.... Make sure he makes it up to you!! As an aside - I've had similar thoughts about marriage since minipopz was born, but things do slowly seem to be getting better.

Pisghetti · 26/01/2016 15:08

Whoa what's going on with the boobies ladies? Hope you're all on the mend soon! I forgot the motor for my pump yesterday so I left work in a hurry at home time looking like I'd had a boob job in my lunch break.

Hugs La nothing to add to what the others have said but that's really not cool Sad

Creme eggs? Bleurgh! Sweet spunky yuckiness. Can't believe they're messing with magnums though Shock

Sympathies on the birthday smear Popz. I had my LLETZ done the day before mine so no birthday shagging Sad it's been two weeks now and I'm starting to miss it. At first I was just glad of the extra sleep.....

Hobbit19 · 26/01/2016 19:37

Good boob news Toast!

La maybe you need to have a proper sit down chat with DH and let him know that he is not pulling his weight?

RPopz · 26/01/2016 20:23

Ouch pis sympathies.... I forgot about the 4 week shagging ban!! Not had my results back yet so hopefully that means they're normal...

I feel grotty. Couldn't be arsed doing my work out dvd tonight and have been eating ALL THE FOOD all day... Oops.

purplewhale · 26/01/2016 22:47

In the early days of BF DH didn't get much baby time. It's perfectly normal and won't always be like that.

The rash on Bs face is so bad, the sleeves of his babygro are covered in blood from scratching it. Ive covered his face in sudocreme and put socks on his hands, over the top of his sleeves up to his elbows. He's not happy about it! We've also cut his nails as short as we can. He's got random patches of dry skin too on his body. I've tried E45 cream, think I need some thing stronger. I'm going to stop using bubble bath as its been worse since I started. We use fairy for his washing with no fabric conditioner. I'm worried that the chlorine in the swimming pool is a factor.
I'm thinking I need to take him to the GP about it.

La...Sending a big hug...he shouldn't be behaving like this. I don't know how you'll get through to him that he's a husband and father now and not just one of the lads. I wonder if a different job would help. I suspect he's working with people much younger than him and wants to be be like them not the older more responsible one. Regardless of the reason it's not acceptable. I wonder if you should tell him exactly how you feel about it, ask him if he wants to leave as that's what he'll drive you to. He probably doesn't realise how upset he's making you.

DulcetMoans · 26/01/2016 23:13

Oh oh oh! I had a recommendation for the rash on J's face purple and it seems to really have worked. I was just the Lasinoh or however you spell it. The purple nipple cream stuff. It's water based so moisturises and his cheeks are fixing up a treat now! I'm just starting to try it on his back.

That sounds like an excellent baby making recipe there toast! Mine is certainly made of chocolate, Coke and porridge!

What's up popz? What work out DVD are you doing? I have all the best intentions whilst eating orange penguins and downing Pepsi. My own worst enemy! You can have a break though, just back on it tomorrow. (When I go to cinema for a hot chocolate and giant cookie. Why do I hate myself!)

Words need to be had la. Bring him to the meet up, we will help him see sense!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/01/2016 04:49

Reading quickly and will write properly in morning just wanted to second Lansinoh for face rash - B is an epic dribbler and it's wonderful for getting rid of dribble rash

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 27/01/2016 04:59

Also Aveeno on the dry patches and on him after swimming (I take it with me to swimming to put on. It sounds like the same baby eczema B has - little dry patches everywhere. Really common and they grow out of it. If it's really bad then go to GP and get prescription. We've got hydrocortisone that I use on backs of his knees and a white emollient called Zerobase that I use if it's bad.

OP posts:
ZylaB · 27/01/2016 08:19

Oooh, going to try lansinoh on dribbly chin spots!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/01/2016 12:46

Yo!

Not dealt with mr La yet - as predicted he got up yesterday and went straight to work. He's at work today so we will chat later. Mums still here because B has been poorly. He was less snotty last night but a hacking cough is waking him up all night.

Getting on better with weaning! He's actually opening his mouth for stuff now yay! I really wanted to do BLW but he's just not interested in picking up food so we will keep going with purée and try him with finger foods every few days. Hopefully once he gets interested in food he'll start to reach for it. I'm not keen on putting off weaning just because he's not putting food in his mouth. I'm sure he's just laid back! He loves baby porridge - we did breakfast for the first time this morning. Am I right in thinking it's ok to use Ready Brek? It's got no salt in it. I wasn't sure so bought small packet of baby stuff until I could check.

Zyla good luck today!! Thinking of you

Popz I'm glad your dh is improving! Mines lovely and so patient but just likes booze too much. I had hoped he'd grow out of it. He doesn't do it often I guess

Baby's up better dash finish later

RPopz · 27/01/2016 16:58

I've got another cold! Angry Damn germy babies.

I'm doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred Dulcet. Just started on level 2. Level 1 wasn't too bad but level 2 is hellish! DH bought us pizza hut buffet for lunch too.... Oops. Back on it tomorrow; honest!!

Hope all's gone ok zyla xx

Hope Mr La is suitably apologetic later!!

DulcetMoans · 27/01/2016 18:32

Oh no, not the shred popz! I have it somewhere, maybe I should dig it out. Hmm nah, I'll eat a biscuit instead.

Normal porridge is fine la. At least it better be as its all J has had! Breakfast for babies is a bit boring. Hope the talk goes well - I'm sure we can come up with some good phrases to make your point if needed.

My big news from the day - J rolled the other way, twice! He can now do back to front! It's great but does mean he can get around a bit more than I'm ready for now...

purplewhale · 27/01/2016 20:16

I took B to the docs for his rash, it was much better today after a night of socks on hands and sudocreme. He's prescribed fucidin H cream which is antibiotic with a steroid. I got upset on the GP as my anxiety got the better of me again. It's getting bad again, I've made a long appt with a female GP next week. Might see if mum will have him so I can focus on the issue not B.

I checked the labels on baby porridge and cereals, they all contain cows milk so no good for us. I have baby rice which is just finely ground rice. Ready brek is just oats, with no salt or sugar added so I bought a box and will mix with his milk. I have warm weetabix for my brekkie so I might try him on that too - need to look at the label (I chuck the box away)

I got some Ella's pouches in Sains, they were on offer and slightly reduced. I've now done all the purees from Annabel Karmel for the first stage. I'm going to start him on them this weekend. My freezer is full of blocks in varying shapes and sizes of potato, sweet potato, butternut squash, carrot, Apple and pear.
Mum thinks I shouldn't give him too much orange stuff or I'll turn him orange!

cookielove · 27/01/2016 20:28

Yes I am broody for another one Grin not gonna happen any time soon though!

la E is still rubbish at picking up food unless its crisps or crackers

cookielove · 27/01/2016 20:35

Whoops posted too soon!

la I gave E a load if veggies as ff for dinner and he only picked them up to throw on the floor. So we do mix feeding.

purple that's a good range you have :)

dulcet yay for rolling!

E can now climb on the sofa independently on one hand yay he is developing but boo he can now climb on the sofa whhhhhyyyyyy!

la we use and always did use baby porridge as it was the only one he would eat (fussy wotsit) but I have bought ready brek to try him on Grin

Any who i am shattered, but I hope you are all well!

RPopz · 27/01/2016 21:10

It's not so bad Dulcet. You're still in legitimate biscuit eating territory anyway! Minipopz is nearly 13 months old and eats 3 meals a day.... I can't play the breastfeeding card anymore! Envy Plus there were some very unflattering photos of me taken at his birthday party... So I decided to get my act together before I go back to work!

Are you taking anything for the anxiety purple? Sorry if you've said before. Hope the cream does the trick for B.

Hi cookie!

purplewhale · 27/01/2016 22:18

No meds at present. Have had citalopram before. I think I need CBT. I don't really want meds again

purplewhale · 28/01/2016 19:43

We tried baby rice tonight. I don't think he swallowed any, he just kept spitting it out. He also cried a lot. Will try again tomorrow. Haven't tried any veggies yet, thought something that tastes of his milk would be a good start to get him used to a spoon and thicker textures

Hobbit19 · 28/01/2016 21:32

Ooh well done Purple and B!

How is everyone doing?

RPopz · 28/01/2016 21:43

Quiet in here today girls.

Minipopz has got D&V again. We had a bad night. Today I've done an epic amount of washing and drunk ALL THE COFFEE. I've got a cold and a sore throat again.... We are the house of lurg!!

Think i saw some ewcm earlier but DH is being a tosser. Meh.

Toast85 · 28/01/2016 22:34

Popz sorry to hear about your lurgies.

Purple I'm sure B will get the hang of food. No experience to base advice on but I guess everyone manages to eat solid food eventually! Wonder whether veggies would go down well because they don't taste of milk? Less confusing because it's totally new rather than milk-that-isn't-actually-milk? Like I said, no experience, I'm just thinking out loud.

I don't know who is to blame.. Leap 4 or the 4 month sleep regression.. But it's just taken over 3 hours to get Melba asleep without a boob in her mouth. I'm shattered. Thank goodness the tesco shop came today, I've just come downstairs and devoured half a packet of fig rolls.

DulcetMoans · 29/01/2016 03:49

It does take a bit of time for them to get the hang of it purple. That pushing it out with the tongue is a good sign though, that's one of the skills they need for weaning.

Eurgh. Sounds draining popz. Can you rest this weekend? Are things better with NrPopz for the baby making to start? I should stop eating biscuits for breakfast really. Like you said, none of my clothes fit properly! I'm a mess!

Leap 4, regression, teething - all you can be sure of is a shit night sleep toast! Fig rolls have fruit in so that's totally fine.

My house is covered in mashed potato, cous cous and carrot. Weaning is messy!

DulcetMoans · 29/01/2016 03:51

Sounds like things are about to get dangerous in your house then cookie. Climbing one handed on the sofa?! That's the start of some good acrobatics there!
