FML. Baby still not asleep.

Frolicacid · 18/12/2015 03:19

Vodka red bull anyone?

Lilydreams · 18/12/2015 03:52

Don't like red bull frolic so I'll have one of them flat white martinis off the baileys advert they look yummy and a twist on our usual espresso martinis!

Dozy piper is so cute in those outfits and what a clever girl sitting up!! DS is also not a roller he occasionally gets into his side but isn't interested and when in his front is just trying to get his bum in the air! Glad you've got your return to work sorted my part time is sorted for going back in March but still need to organise going in for a shadow day and 2 lots of training in February to phase me in as a lot has changed since I last did my proper job role this time last year! I keep thinking about it loads lately as the ladt I will be job sharing with goes back at the start of jan but I need to stop its another 2 and a half months yet! I think once I've sorted those days and a phased start to nursery for DS I'll be able to forget about it again. When is everyone else going back? Am I going to be the first as DS is the oldest? Eeeeekk!!!

Lilydreams · 18/12/2015 03:53

Grok- hope your asleep now- join me in a flat white martini if not

loveandsmiles · 18/12/2015 06:55

Morning allXmas Smile. Schools break off today - it's going to be a long week with 5 excited children and a baby until Xmas day!! Been on my own with them for 2 weeks now as DH leaves at 5am and gets back at 8pm due to work and Forth Bridge closure - he isn't a huge help but he does take them to activities at night - thankfully most activities stopped for Xmas.

fatty your DP is a Star - do hope he got a big reward!!!

frolic great pic - love the sleep suit. My house is resembling a grotto - but a very tasteful and colour coordinated oneXmas Grin

fanby good news for Molly's weight - we have 4 month check today. DD still in 0-3 month clothes - no idea what her weight is??

slow lol at Grump2 unimpressed face

dozy super cute pics - wow, can't believe she is sitting up - amazing!! -siani my DD must be a very lazy baby - she doesn't roll, try to sit up - nothing- lies on her back and kicks her legs - that's about the extent of her movement!!

Tindel · 18/12/2015 07:21

Good news about the weight fanby - I had J weighed this week and he is also 13lbs 14ozs! Clearly, this is the weight to be Smile

I don't know if this is the 4 month sleep regression coming in early, but we now seem to have a 4am feed back again. I appreciate that's still much better than others, but I was enjoying an unbroken night's sleep. Might have to go back to an earlier bedtime for me - I couldn't get back to sleep this morning. Hoping to grab another hour or so before actually getting up this morning. We've been extremely slack at Christmas so far, so would love to get decorations and the tree up today! Just need a bit more sleep first ...

Dozygirl · 18/12/2015 07:29

Same here tindel. Was sleeping loads but waking up at 4 again. I try to hold of feeding until she's really ready for it.

Frolicacid · 18/12/2015 08:01

Good morning! I've just looked at the wander weeks app, and we only have 20 days left of this leap apparently! Yay 🙄

Welcome kbb!

Great news that things are getting better grok.
Ds has been doing lots of standing on my scar this week as well. I've booked a triage thing with the practice nurse for this morning and will see a dr if she thinks I should.

I love our very colourful bookcase slow! I am sitting on an orange chair in the picture, so you might say I like a splash of colour too! Maybe the veggie husbands are driving us to bright furniture induced madness?
Grumpy 2 looks very nonplussed about the parade! Love it! We have a bib in the sane material as her hat. Good taste, obviously.

Happy birthday little fatty! I hope you all have a fab day 🎈

You win best photo again Dozy! She is adorable.
Glad you had a good visit at work. I have a similar plan to you for going back and it's good to habe it sorted.

I'm not a fan of red bull either lily! But I would have chugged loads at 3am I was so bleary eyed.
I'm back at work mid May.

Enjoy the quiet hours before school finishes today loves! I imagine it's going to get very excitable at your house in coming days.

Happy Friday everyone 🙂

mzzzf · 18/12/2015 10:04

Dozy - lovely pics. That's amazing that's she's getting herself into sitting. Mini mzzzf likes to sit and play but I have to put her into position first.

Forgotten who's got the pegs/tooth. Was it fatty? Anyway I've spied a sharp pointy bit of white breaking through the gun this morning!! Confirmed by her trying to gnaw through my finger!

Dhs last day at work before leave - woohoo!! Two hands on deck really makes a difference doesn't it?!

Grok - it's shit isn't it! Extra caffeine for you today.

Lily - god yes to those flat white thingies! I keep seeing them on tv and salivating!

Loves - that's crap for your DH and the bridge. Really hope he gets lots of time off over the festivities to have a break from that uber diversion.

As mini mzzzf came to the end of the last wonder weeks leap that exact night she slept for more than usual, so there's deffo hope.
Re the sleep thing (my own personal mountain) I've no migrated into the I don't give a fuck camp 😀
During the day she'll sleep when she wants to, or not. I'm not fighting anymore to get her to bed at an earlier hour either but I am starting to condition her like a Pavlovian dog 😀 Same process and music for bed each night and a big change is ditching the babygros. She's now a pj girl as she was forcibly pushing her toes against the poppers in a bid for freedom and getting all aggy. Our new nighttime 'routine' is quick, bath free and hopefully still going to work tonight now I've just jinxed it 😉

We went to see a nursery yesterday which actually was great. I think I'll feel quite happy leaving her in their care when she's older in a couple of months. A different job to find first though!

My aim is to post cards today. Which means getting up, dressed and out into the world. We'll see, I might have some more toast first 😁

kbro79 · 18/12/2015 11:02

Aidan just did such an explosive poo that it leaked through his vest and babygrow and went all over my pj top. Nice. Happy Friday to mummy!

Thanks all for your kind words. It really cheered me up. I really just need to go with the flow more with DS and follow his lead. I find that so much less stressful. For example this morning DS had nice post poo nap on my lap whilst I watched Eastenders on catch up. Way more fun than spending 2 hours trying to persuade him into the cot. Happy mum = happy baby. And catching up on Enders equals happy mum here. Think just got a bit overwhelmed by everything this week as had 3 days worth of plans with friends all cancelled at the last minute. No ones fault but I am not good on my own with no plans. Need to be out and about.

On the plus side aidan did 4 hours before his hourly wake ups which made a huge difference! 4 hours is conquer the world stuff! Or more accurately get to the post office stuff.

Dozy check out those skills!!! Go piper. DS is another lazy sod on the rolling front. He occasionally roles to the side but only if he can sense my boob is near. Other than that it's all about the back and the kicking.

DH is off for a week and a half after today. Hurrah.

Fatty hope you and Dd have a lovely bday!! Enjoy the Sharks.

kbb23 · 18/12/2015 11:24

hi everyone my ds is 16weeks and for the past few days is only taking half his milk he normally has 7or 8oz at each feed but is only having 3 or 4. anyone else had this...is it just a phase?

Fanby · 18/12/2015 13:36

I wrote a long old post last night and it's goooone?! :( can't remember what I said but just lots of love to all! Just reread everything and am up to date but cannae mustle the energy to rewrite sorry! Excellent news on the 13lb 14oz weights, piper sitting up and mini fatties tooth in particular!

Are you ready for a rant?!

Horrific night in Fanby house. I woke up and thought I'd squished molly and was doing the frantic duvet search. Literally dripping in sweat as I thought she was in bed with us. I then looked in her cot and turned out she was in there safe and sound. Ten minutes later which was midnight she woke up (had been asleep since 9) so I fed her put her back down. She then woke up at 2:30 so DH attempted to give her a bottle but she screamed the place down, she did take some though and went back to sleep. 3:30/4 she woke so as she'd been fed and less than three hours he rocked her back to sleep but there was a lot of crying, A LOT OF CRYING! She then woke at 5:30 so I fed her. At half 7 she woke and I tried to leave her to cry a bit and tried dummy but in the end I ended up feeding her again. Literally don't know what else to do!!

Anyhoo then my day got worse and I am royally fucked off now as well. At 8:20 upstairs had a whole load of builders turn up so we got up and went to the other end of the flat where I couldn't hear them stomping up and down the stairs. It later took twenty minutes to put molly down for a nap and then they woke her up. So I went into the hallway and 'calmly' had a word about them leaving the main front door open and it letting all the heat out from our flat and how they'd woken her up twice. He just looked at me and was like 'how did we wake her up' and I explained since the fucking twats people upstairs won't soundproof their flat and pulled up the carpet that the previous owner had we hear everything. He didn't even apologise and I could see the fucking bitch upstairs hiding behind her banisters. I swear she is going to get it. Phoned my DH more or less in tears and he is ready to let rip. I was thinking of all the fun revenge tactics and my favourite so far is to ring their doorbell everytime molly wakes up tonight. Any other ideas let me know...

Escaped the house by going to Goldsmiths University for a research project I'd signed molly up for. Nothing like letting students use your baby as a human guinea pig . It was called 'ticklish sounds' and basically her little hands go into scratch mitts with sensors and they play peek a boo with her and see where she looks or something. Apparently she was the best baby so far and they got everything they needed within ten minutes with no stopping! I'm now sitting in sainsburys cafe and she's asleep on me. Can't be arsed to move as I don't want to go home :(

Lots of love,

Grumpy fanby xx

mzzzf · 18/12/2015 16:12

Ahhhh Fanby what a bloody nightmare!!! Can't believe you're wanky neighbours (bet they're soak wankers too!) didn't even let you know they were doing work!!! Arrrgh!
The doorbell idea sounds good, or you could 'forget' to take nappies fully outside do they have to step round a nappy bin blockade to get to their door 😁💩

The research project sounds very exciting. What were they hoping to prove with the ticklish sounds?

I think mini mzzzf is messing with my mind. She did a 2.5he nap on me this morning and is now doing another monster one on me, wtf?! I thought we'd given up napping now! Goodness knows what tonight will be like!!

Kbb - re milk amounts. My dd changes her appetite often. Somedays she just appears hungrier than other days. As long as you're still getting the usual level of pooey and wet nappies and your LO seems OK in other ways then it might just be their appetite. Buuuut if you're in any doubt have you still got a HV you could call for a second opinion?

I've not made it out of the house today. The weather here is raining, heavily, AGAIN! I'll have to nip out tomorrow when DH is around instead. Speaking of the devil - he's meant to be back by now from a work Christmas 'lunch'.... I may get some paracetamol ready for him!

For Christmas we're being grinches and locking the doors for the big day. Just us, pjs, food, drink and a vat of quality street (except the blue ones - eugh!) 😁
Then it's a tidal wave of mums with mil on Boxing Day and mine the day after.

I might regret saying this but I really wish it'd snow!!!!!

FattySantaRobin · 18/12/2015 16:37

kbb I agree with mzzzf re milk amount.
fanby love your doorbell idea Grin

DD is roaring at everyone she meets today. She is in a good mood. She got a talking Olaf for her birthday. She loves it. Can't wait for the sea life centre tomorrow. And we gave decided that while we are in Blackpool we will take a ride in a horse and carriage. So she will get to see garks (sharks), ride with geegees and ride a choo choo.

kbb23 · 18/12/2015 16:48

thanks mzzf and fatty for the advice i'll see how he goes over the weekend

Joskar · 18/12/2015 17:21

Think my tummy might have settled. I hope anyway. Lunch seems to have stayed down. Fingers crossed!

mzzf ime it just rains in Glasgow all the time. Just all the time. Hope you've got flippers on your Santa list!

So glad our nearest neighbours are miles away, fanby! That sounds shite. Although with both my girls if they want to sleep they will supposing wwiii was happening outside. Both have slept through the dog going demented or Dh chainsawing. A creak on the wrong stair on the other hand or being lowered into a cot? No chance! Hope your day improved though. The science experiment sounds fun.

Even my textbook baby is waking a bit more just now. We're early for a regression or what have you. She won't be 4 months for a while yet. I hope it'll get better. I liked the 6 hrs stretches! How long is the regression supposed to last?

Last of the parcels posted today I think. Need to send for a birthday but otherwise I think my post office visits are pretty much done. Need to sort the house. Absolute midden atm. The wheels have come off a bit since I was ill. When there are two pairs of hands it's much easier. I don't know how those of you with dhs who don't do any housework manage! My Dh takes care of the washing thanks be. We'd have been knocking about in the bufty this week if he wasn't on the case!

Still no turning over here. Dd1 was definitely doing it by now. This wee pudding is quite happy just cracking huge smiles and kicking like a showgirl.

Fanby · 18/12/2015 17:40

Apologies for the rant earlier. Was good to get it out though. My day continued with more bad news that DH has to go into work on Monday gaaaaaaaah! Ah well can't be helped I guess. He better get that annual leave day back!

Mini mzzzf! Check you out cracking on with naps!! I hope she gives you a good night, sleep breeds sleep and all that jazz!

Fatty - sounds like an excellent birthday weekend! Hope you all have a sharky day!!!

Joskar - so glad you've managed to keep some food down you poor thing! No idea on the shit sleep but I'm hoping it's over very VERY soon, I too miss the 6hr blocks!!

The research thing was to see whether babies notice sounds/tactile stimuli and whether they expect them to come from the same place each time whilst playing peek a boo. Two very sweet students running it, it was for one of their dissertations. They gave molly a cute bib as a thankyou and me a voucher!

It's the Christmas party at Mugabe nights, pull up a bar stool and order your shots! August 2015
MaGratgarlik1983 · 18/12/2015 18:39

Glad you're feeling better joskar and yay for those with teeth making appearances! They're still bothering DS but still not come through gum line. We had two 7 hour sleep stretches last week, then the 4am feed came back, and last night we had a half 2 and a half 4 wake up...zzzz...!! Pretty much sorted for xmas I think ooh got the radio times today - I know it's a bit sad but I like highlighting the programmes, makes me feel all festive! Kbb sometimes DS takes less milk, I have to really encourage him lately ad he's so busy staring at everything. Maybe try a feed in a dark quiet room?

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 18/12/2015 19:05

Sorry been awol guys but it has been super busy here this week. We've has slightly better sleep since the tooth broke through although still waking around midnight, 3 and 5 but then going back in his rather than our bed.

I had a bit of a rant at DH about weight and aches and general crapness. He was amazing and we have made a pact to be healthier in the new year.

I haven't been able to read through yet as the thread has moved loads but I has a look at the pics and they are so cute! Everyone looks like little people now rather than newborn babies! How fast are they all growing up?!

Am really excited for Christmas now. We have decided to go to the in laws now so DD can get a bit of sea air while DH has a nice stretch of time off work. I wish it could just be the four of us sitting around in Christmas pjs but our families would never let us forget it and at least this way I don't have to worry about the shopping!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 18/12/2015 19:07

Sorry my phone keeps changing had to has so it appears I have lost my basic grasp of tenses!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 18/12/2015 20:43

Oh and re going back to work. I've really surprised myself in that I really don't want to go back. In fact, thinking I'd rather try for number 2 and enjoy time with DS. Almost sold the bouncy chair the other day but cancelled at the last min. Eek!

mzzzf · 18/12/2015 20:44

Molly is such a gorge! Yep you deffo win the hair comp Fanby 😁

Keep lunch down joskar - otherwise all the lidl Christmas goodies will be for nowt!

Nolonger - enjoy the sea air and being waited on!

mzzzf · 18/12/2015 20:47

X post!!

Whoooah magrat!!! Newborn amnesia has got you in its clutches!! 😁😁
To be fair though I've already said to DH he can leave it in again next Christmas!! Haha 😂

MaGratgarlik1983 · 18/12/2015 20:49

Hehe I know eek! At first I was sure I only wanted DS but the birth pain etc has faded a bit...I'm an only child so I know how lonely it is and how as an adult there's no one to remember your childhood with. However, need to work on convincing DH...

FattySantaRobin · 18/12/2015 20:51

You're all crazy! says the one with 3 DC
