MrsChristmasboo · 13/11/2006 15:35

Where are you all today??

Has anyone else been suffering with post baby periods? I'm in absolute agony and feel so miserable and they seem to be two/three weeks apart....Can't remember when they returned to normal with ds1. And my boobs are even bigger this week so my bras are too tight . And feel soooo sick every time i get a cramp....

PinkTinsel · 13/11/2006 23:12

awwwww snow, that sound horrid hot water bottle and bed babe.

mine probably won't come ack til calebs 9 months if when i got preg with him is anything to go by. (not counting lochia i've not had a period since april 2004, lol.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 14/11/2006 08:22

Awww SBoo, mine have returned. Have had 2, the first started just as the bleeding had stopped IYSWIM so I couldnt really tell what it was like if you get me but the other one I've had has come around 28 days after. It was quite heavy but I didnt get any pains with it which I am so grateful of because I got them terribly before. So I hope it will be the same every month.

Well I don't know if anyone saw my thread but I had 2 men trying to break into the house on sunday night. Dh was at work and stopping the night so i was on my own.
They didnt get in so I suppose thats a positive but it was bloody frightning.
The police came, did a search in the car and then parked outside my gate and did foot patrol for over an hour. They didnt find anyone though.

Anyway....

MrsChristmasboo · 14/11/2006 09:11

OMG Yellow!!! You must've been scared stiff!!!! And you've been doing really well aswell. Has it set you back any or are you coping ok? Have you got an alarm system in the house? Maybe think of getting one if not.

Pink, thats just not fair, you're just showing off now.... Must say, i feel so wiped out by it and it makes my, ahem, Ashleys really bad also. Ah well, maybe i can go see the Gynae who looked after me during my pg....(any excuse to visit!)

eenysugarplumfairy · 14/11/2006 09:30

Oh Yellow!! I am SO sorry!! How are you feeling, hon? What a terrible thing to happen and to you as well as if you dont have enough to cope with!!!! I am so sorry. Please talk to us all you need to to sort it out. Is your DH home now?

Boo, I have had one period since Alex was born. I was so disapointed I was really hoping I wouldnt get them back for a long time. Sorry yours is so hard.

Yesterday I got really ill, it was EXACTLY like being pregnant again. I even threw up!!! In my paranoia I thought about taking a test but it would have to be the immaculate conception. I went to bed at 2 and only surfaced twice til 6:30 this morning. I am feeling better now but still not great.

Am REALLY upset. Alex just will not breast feed. I agreed to cut out his day time feeds but still wanted to BF him first thing in the morning and last thing at night but he wont do it. I cant MAKE him suck. Its terrible. I dont know what to do I am not ready to let it go!

Hope you and your babies are all well x

PinkTinsel · 14/11/2006 12:01

feathers, are you ok. stupid question, of course your not after that! i'm turning on msn now to see if your there

MrsChristmasboo · 14/11/2006 13:06

Eeny, sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten. I hate being ill. It really is crap!

With the bf, just try and stay relaxed about it as Alex will sense it. I think thats what happened with Austin as he just kinda gave in. After weeks of torturing myself aout it i have now got to the stage where i feel good for the 7weeks he got (apparently that will take him up to 14yo..) and he is a happy chappy who is growing very well. So if it does all stop be proud of the weeks you did manage it. Far more than lots of women i know. Big {{{{hugs}}}} to you and baby.

Oh why am i so tired? Is it possible to still be anaemic? And should i start on my iron tablets again?

PinkTinsel · 14/11/2006 13:37

like snow said eeny, you've done fantastically to get this far with all the problems you've had. don't feel bad at all if it doesn't work out, have you started a thread to ask tik tok for help?

lunavix · 14/11/2006 13:53

YF so glad they didn't get in.

I'm sorry to hear about your feeding problems eeny, but glad you are enjoying alex more now. Like PT says, my dd does this too, but I just take her off and leave her now, it's usually a sign she's overtired even though she's still hungry.

DD was weighed today, she's 13 weeks thursday and 11lb 6.5 oz. So cue HV lecture 'she's only on around 15 centile blah blah blah' she looks a right porker! She's just grown out of newborn and is firmly comfy in 0-3. Some 0-3 is getting tight some is still loose.

SHe's bf pretty much exclusively now, much to my delight due to a supply prob I started giving her her late feed myself instead of dh and she still sleeps mostly through. She's had one bottle of formula in the last month or so, when I had tonsillitus. I had a course saturday, and she actually just fed at 9am, 1pm and 5pm both days so didn't need bottles or anything. Amazing.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 14/11/2006 14:47

Yes I am ok
Dh is home. He's also got rid of his next sleep in shift on Sunday just to cross out the possibility of these guys targeting the house when he's not here!

SnowBoo, you could be aneamic. I think I could be but I'm too chicken to have my bloods done so I'm taking Spatone again.

Eeny, hope your feeling a bit better. Maybe it was one of those horrid 24hr bug things.

Pinky, sorry I couldnt gab earlier. I'll catch you later though.

Luna, great about the feeding and sleeping through.
Makes such a difference when you get a good nights sleep doesnt it.

BigHotMama · 14/11/2006 20:06

Hi everyone! Hope your all well

Lunavix, sounds like your doing a grand job with the feeding hun! Jackson weighs 11lb5oz at 12 weeks so is just above the 9th centile or whatever it is? The Health visitor came round today as they were concerned about his weight, have been thinking of gradually weaning him off the breast as I've started singing again at weekends with the band and am finding it difficult to express enough milk for when I'm out and then when I get back in at around 1am my breasts are so full I end up staying up to express till 2am, then Jackson wakes up around 4-5am for a feed so weekends I'm feeling very tired! Also when I leave him with my DH he cries after the boob which only distresses him and my DH. Have started giving him a day feed 6oz of formula and still has a 6oz feed b4 bedtime, then the rest is BF. Am hoping to get him onto baby rice around xmas when he is 4 months.

Eeny seems like you are getting on great nowadays, glad its getting better for you both.

Yellow how scary for that to happen? Hope your ok?

Talking of the X Factor, I think Leona technically has the best voice and she has got the look but I wouldnt personally buy her records, so I think Robert has the X Factor, loved his performance sat night, Ben hasnt got a personality but I like the sound of his voice!

Am going online as of next Wednesday so can come on here and talk more with you bunch of nutters! Wehey!

Has anybody sorted out their Trust fund yet and who have you gone with and what type of account?

Must dash Jackson wants a feed and is shaking his bottom lip at me aahh bless! x x

olivhohoho · 14/11/2006 20:11

just dropping by to say hello!

yf - sounds horrible, hope you are ok.

had dd weighed today, one week after starting gaviscon and despite me thinking she was spitting it all out, she has put on half a pound!

BHM -we dont get the trust fund here so cant help -sorry!

hope everyone is well.

lunavix · 14/11/2006 21:06

YF I have a ds... it's not the lite one though. What did you have to do to get it to connect do you have wireless internet?

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 15/11/2006 08:33

BHM, I never knew that you were a singer! Will you remember us little people when you hit the big time?

Olivo, good news about the weight gain.

Luna, you'll need to buy a Browser for it. Its £24.99. Just make sure you get the one for just the DS and they do a different one for the lite.
Here

I'm taking Ellis to the clinic today for the first time! I've had the HV here every week apart from last, since he was born. So it should be interesting to see what he's put on.
Theres also a talk on Friday about weaning and I cant decide wether to go or not. It could be boring
Tomorrow Ellis has his update with the Paed for his Reflux too.

Have a good day everyone.

eenysugarplumfairy · 15/11/2006 09:22

Hi All!

GGGRRRR Alex is driving me round the bend!!!! he wont sleep unless i stand up and rock him - its taken 2 hours for me to type this much! every time i sit down he screams.

better be brief then! I am giving up on breastfeeding. I have tried SO HARD. This morning I tried to feed him again and it was so traumatic for both of us. He was miserable and acting like I was torturing him. After hours of this I broke down and gave him a bottle and he took it like he was starving. its just too selfish of me to try to continue. I have to let it go. I have to say it is so hard being a mother you have to learn very quickly to put up with disapointment. of course you get a lot of good as well. makes up for it!

we havent invested our trust fund yet, I am going to look into it in the new year and decide then!

BHM glad you hear you are still singing! what kind of music do your band play?

YEllow glad your DH will be home with you over the next few days! People can be so rotton! (The burglars, not your DH!)

sarahlou1uk · 15/11/2006 09:38

Eeny - look at it this way, you have given him the best start by breastfeeding. He has now got all of your best bits in the first few weeks. Don't feel a failure, you did absolutely brilliantly!!! I couldn't breastfeed with my first and I was heartbroken. Formula isn't that bad you know and by putting him solely on formula now, who knows, he might start being a little less clingy if his tummy is fuller!! I was all set to breastfeed Molly but her tooth put an end to that! She's very very settled on formula and sleeps from 9pm until around 7am the next day. Looking back, I'm glad I couldn't breastfeed sort of, because I would have been feeding every 2/3 hours but with formula, it has been more or less every 3/4 in the early days. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE - you are a mummy who has now made a decision to give her little boy the feed that he now needs. Baby's demands change as they grow older. Sorry for the rant. I do believe breast is best BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN. I don't believe in making mums who can't breastfeed or choose not to breastfeed feel a failure. Sometimes, nature needs a helping hand!

Anyway, apart from that......

YF - at those men!!! I don't know what I would have done. My first instinct would have been to protect the kids and reach for the phone next! It's now made me make sure that I lock the doors when I go upstairs, even during the day. What a sorry world we live in now. Nothing like the world I grew up in where we could happily play in the road or go to each others houses without an escort and without the fear of cars/people following us. God, I feel really old now!!

This has been a big post. Hope everyone else ok. Molly goes for her 2nd lot of injections today. Tears again.

MrsChristmasboo · 15/11/2006 09:59

Sarah, Austin has his 2nd dose and due to the strange rash that appeared last time i am bricking it. HV said the 2nd jabs are worse so looks like we are in for a good few days!!!! GOOD LUCK!

Eeny sweetie, you are doing the right thing and just keep remembering that. If it makes Alex happy it will make for a happy mummy too. You are doing a fantastic job with baby, just don't let the bad take over the good parts. Make a happy chart every day so you have to focus on the nice things that make you smile. Been doing it for 3 weeks and already its helping me alot. Big hugs.

Will catch up witht he rest later....

PinkTinsel · 15/11/2006 12:22

luna, i'm so glad the feeding and sleeping are going well for you now, sounds like she's gotten herself into a fantastic little routine already!

caleb seems to have dropped all his night feed except the 12/1 o clock one, i offer if i wake up and find him awake but he refuses his daytime feeds are spacing out a fair bit too and he feeds in about 5 mins flat so i'm perpetuallyconvinced he must be starving, lol

bhm, you must be loving getting out of the house to sing with your band, what type of music is it?

hope molly and austin take the injections ok, i'll have my fingers crossed for ye. (out of curiosity is the vac schedule differant over there, here its 2,4 and 6 months so caleb won't have his 2nd lot til next month?)

MrsChristmasboo · 15/11/2006 14:12

Dont get me started on vacs pink. just had a right time of it at the dr's. stupid nurse has reduced me to tears she was so rude to me. Will explain later as i need to sort my face out b4 picking ds1 up.

Over here its 2,3 and 4months. I think i prefer your way tbh, not so much in a small space of time....

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 15/11/2006 15:05

Oh gosh Boo, what happened?
Ellis has his 2nd jab next week. I'm dreading it too.

Eeny, well done for making the decision. That must have been very hard to do. I'm sure though that both you and Alex will be happy doing it.

Pinky, I didnt realise jabs were done different over there.

I had Ellis weighed today and he's now 12lb 5oz so he's put on 12oz in 2 weeks.
Went shopping after and spent a small fortune again I cant seem to stop myself. Although I managed to get dd a gorgeous Ted Baker dress for my BIL's wedding

Ellis seems to be streching his sleep even more now. He will go till 7:30am now from 9pm.
Has anyone else found their babies doing the same?
Cant believe he can go that long without a feed!

sarahlou1uk · 15/11/2006 15:37

YF - Molly is the same at night. Goes from around 9.30pm to 7.30am. Sometimes she wakes a little earlier, but then goes back to sleep again which is fine when it's not a school day! I think I will get her weighed tomorrow. Last Monday she was 11 weeks old and 13lb 11oz so I'm keen to see how much she puts on in a week!

At Jack's school, another mum has just had her baby boy and I can't believe Molly was ever that small and 'baby' looking! It seems like we've had her forever!

olivhohoho · 15/11/2006 15:56

Eeny - hope you are feeling ok, and never forget how well you have done with the bf so far.

i am so of those of you who are getting so much sleep! dd is still up every 3 to four hours in the night for a feed. at least i can be thankful that she settles herself really well i suppose and once a week i will sleep in the spare room and dh will give her ebm in a bottle for the 2ish feed. tried it once and although i woke up, it was only for half an hour - i felt SO good the next day!!

BOo - hope you are ok. dd has her second lot next week i hate them although it didnt bother her last time. hopefully these will be the same.

Micku5 · 15/11/2006 17:22

Finally got a few m inutes to myself so am using it wisely.. on mumsnet lol.

hope everyone is okay. dd1 is getting a cough and cold and dd2 is starting so it's going to be a rough few nights.

I've just been trying to get ready for christmas... dd1 is so much more aware of it and when she is watching her programmes when the adverts come up every second item they show she wants!!

Eeny - Don;t feel bad about giving up the breastfeeding... you have done so much better then me, I stopped after 5 weeks because I just wasn't producing enough and I wasn't going to beat myself up about it. (Also meant I could have a drink once in a while

jingleboobs · 15/11/2006 18:41
