What a very gorgeous little girl! Makes me - I want a photo like that (but with Molly instead of course!)

purpleturtle · 15/11/2006 20:11

Sorry to have been away so long, haven't really tried to catch up either. Just scanned the very top few posts, and gather we're mainly talking about sleep.

Our nights are absolutely fantastic. Ds2 is already down, and I really don't anticipate feeding him before 4.00am and he'll do through till 6.00am quite often. (Got a full 12 hours the other day!)

The flip side of this is that he hardly seems to sleep in the day, but cries a lot instead. I haven't really fathomed why. I suspect that the upheaval of having to fit into the routine already set around school and nursey means he doesn't get to sleep when he wants to, and once he's overtired he can't sleep at all. On occasions when he is asleep, ds1 seems to think it's hilarious to wake him up.

I never really set a routine for the older two. They just worked it out for themselves. I'm wondering whether I need to try to impose some kind of nap routine on ds2, but I really don't like the idea much at all.

MrsChristmasboo · 15/11/2006 20:25

Awww booby what a gorgeous little girl. You must be soooo proud

Well after my shit day follows a stressful eve. Ds1 is WIDE awake so bang goes my relaxing bath, Austin is asleep in his cot but due to wake for his final feed at 10, dh is, of course, down the pub.

On the plus side i am seeing Father Christmas on Friday at Harrods!!!! (Sorry, should be DS1 is sweeing him....)

Oh gtg, ds jumping on me now!

jingleboobs · 15/11/2006 21:44

ive got some more pics but dont know how to put them on herre thanks snow
ours were done at olan mills

melsy · 15/11/2006 21:49

awwwww booby what a gorge piccy , u just want to nosh her, look at those bracelet wrists scrummy.

eeeeny just wanted to say you have done immensely well , look at all the 1st few weeks you persevered feeding and feeding despite how you felt in yourself , amazing determination. You did better than me in yuor state with dd1 , I managed 3 weeks only. I also sobbed and sobbed at the loss when I had to stop with dd1, but just could not do it anymore. Dd2 also started throwing and thrashing herself around and refusing me a couple of weeks ago, got into a real nasty temper. It left me heartbroken & I was told she probably would only want bottles from then on, as they are so much easier for them. Weirdly though she seemed to settle down after a week or so. I really thought it was all over , convinced that was it as I had already upped the bottles during the day, but then I offered her me again in the evenings and she seemed totally ok. I cant work these things out sometimes. Does your head in really.

wow girls at some of the babies weights, they all must gobble gobble every feed! Luna Im also getting the percentile driven mad thing. Hate going to the clinic BLUERGH, takes me back to dd1 nightmares and weekly weigh ins.

dd2 was soo not interested today in bottles, only me, we had a marathon feed this morning , on and off from 5 - 8:30 , think she had her fill for the day may be !!! It was 2nd day post jabs so thinking it might be that , Im not sure. So not only do I sit worrying wethere shes taken enough from me , if she onyl has 7oz out of the 14oz she normally has spread over 3 bottles a day then I start worrying.

Glad the interview went well booby , lol at jingleboobs , I like that!!! When will you hear back ?

hiya purpleturtle , long time no see.

yeah BHM will ne good to see u on Msn!!!

Micku5 , didnt get round to saying how lovely those piccys looked , what a happy smily girl you have. I just wanted to step into the scene.

Im needing some sympathy for my poor back , its getting worse and worse and Ive had some very teary nights trying to get up the stairs. shameless request for sympathy here . Im sitting here now with my new hot water bottle, but Im still in a lot of pain .

eenysugarplumfairy · 16/11/2006 09:09

Booby that is a lovely picture of CJ!!!! She is beautiful! We are taking Alex to a photo studio today to get his picture taken - I hope he smiles!! I am so excited!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful support over the feeding problem. Last night I was in floods of tears over it... I am so sad. I got him to suck for 5 mins last night and this morning but it wasnt for nourishment it was for me, emotionally.

Melsy hon I am really sorry about your pain. I dont have any advice for you different from what you have already heard but I wanted to say I am sorry and thinking of you.

PinkTinsel · 16/11/2006 11:29

booby and snow, sorry, i wandered away from pc last night and forgot to flick my msn to away and idiot dp didn't bother to tell me there were messages hope ye didn't think i was ignoring ye.

{{{{{{melsy}}}}} you poor babe, back pain is utter balls, theres nothing worse. i hope it eases up soon. have you considered going to an osteopath? my dad went to one and the guy worked miracles on him, and my dad is a total skeptic!

purple, at least my dd isn't the only one incapable of letting a baby sleep, drives me p the wall and caleb gets really overtired too. its so hard trying to work a routine around other kids isn't it? i keep trying and giving up, it means the only sleep he gets is in my arms by the pc though (the main reason for my awful typing na dlack of capitols, i'm usually typing one handed!)

PinkTinsel · 17/11/2006 14:51

we're so quiet these days!

sarahlou1uk · 17/11/2006 15:40

We're not quiet Pink, just busy busy busy!!!

Just been out entertaining Jack for the day as dh is on nights and doesn't appreciate it if I let Jack run around the house when he's trying to sleep. Don't know why..... .

eenysugarplumfairy · 17/11/2006 17:27

hi all! hope you are all well! we are ok. not much to report really! went out today and would have had a lovely day if little Alex had cried a little less but oh well! he is asleep now, thankfully!

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 17/11/2006 17:46

Hi everyone.
Not much to report here either. Had a busy day tidying the house and arguing with dh about re-arranging furniture (a little well known thing that I do).

Ellis has been vomiting a bit more than normal over the last few days but seems fine in himself and is still sleeping through so I'm not too bothered.
He's laughing and smiling loads now aswell which is so fantastic.

Anyhooo, hope you have had a good day today and a good weekend.

PinkTinsel · 17/11/2006 18:15

lol, i guess i'm the only one with the broadband always on and the pc in the living room?! i scurry back and forth all morning

calebs been a bit off colour today, lots of tears and a bit of puking poor little mite. although he's guzzling away now so obviously feeling a bit better!

feathers, don't bother argueing, just move it all around and tell him thats how it's going to be from now on! thats what i do!

Santamander · 17/11/2006 20:04

Wow this thread IS different these days
Just TWO posts for Thursday!

Just wanted to tell everyone that Eeny did birlliantly today with Alex on a day trip to Lavenham in Suffolk.
He was a right pickle by all accounts there and back in the car, but behaved like a perfect gentleman in the posh gastropub.

That was all I wanted to say - they are both sleeping right now and i'm going to watch Trevor MacDonalds moan about the terrible scam councils have going with recycling and stuff. [YAWN says Eeny]

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 17/11/2006 20:51

Ahh well done Eeny! You sound as poooosh as Melsy going in these fancy restaurants

Well, I'm netting from my nintendo again lol. Dh is hogging my laptop searching for a holiday for us all. I've been moaning about him going away in April without me so he's trying to find somewhere for us to go on our wedding anniversary in january. I could go in April withhim but it would mean leaving Ellis here and tbh I can't do it. As lovely as the holiday would be, I can't leave my gorgeous little son.

Melsy, if you read this tonight, I'll catch you tomorrow!

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 07:58

God I know you've all got babies, kids, dh's and all that but jeeez, its no excuse not to spend every waking moment on MN.

Where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu???????

lunavix · 18/11/2006 08:23

OOoh I'm here YF don't fret

I was gonna ask you - are you still thinking of doing that Tatty Bumpkin training? I did mine last week and it was fab.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 08:25

Oooo was it?
How long for, what did you do?
Will you be going into business then?

lunavix · 18/11/2006 08:27

It was two days 9 - 5. Fab cos I'm bfing and dh brought dd at the start (they hold a class for the kids of people doing the course) at lunch and at 5 and she didn't miss a feed!!!

It was quite simple, did a bit of anatomy and physiology, and then running a class, songs, story telling etc. I did it on the 11th/12th and one person has started up already

I'm planning on started in January (new year new start etc etc!)

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 08:36

Excellent, thats really great.
Fab about bringing dd in to feed too. I honestly dont know how you do it!
Are you still minding too?

lunavix · 18/11/2006 08:44

Yeah but I'm currently only minding my bunch after school so days are a bit free. Want to do a couple of tatty bumpkin sessions (2 or 3 maybe a week) and then planning to stock Barefoot Books too cos apparently they complement the classes really well. So it'll only be maybe 3 or 4 actual hours of work outside the house.
Plus with the barefoot books the preschool ds has just started at have already asked me to do a fundraiser lol.

I'm considering doing actual baby yoga training too.... [pondering emoticon] but I am wary I take a lot on at once I like a full life

Anyways, if you decide to go ahead with TB feel free to ask any questions and I'll let you know how I'm getting on. If you decide to do the course then if you could please tell them I told you about it, I think I get brownie points

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 08:51

Yes I will. I dont think I could do it atm, am struggling to get dd to school 2 mornings a week lol but when things settle I'm tempted to do it.

Where will you hold it then? At your house or will you hire a hall out or something?

lunavix · 18/11/2006 08:57

Anywhere. You can hire out a hall or a room, I'm looking at a local hall. They suggest doing classes at preschools nurserys gyms etc then you get paid instead of having to fill the class yourself to make money. They also suggest holding the classes in the park or in your garden if big enough during the summer as it's more natural and saves money

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 09:02

It sounds great. I bet it will be lovely in the summer doing it in the garden.
I know its not the same but I took dd to a music class last Sept for 4 months and she really enjoyed it. She'd always run off and do her own thing at times in each lesson but overall she loved that we were actually doing something and eventually she did remember the things we did in class.

lunavix · 18/11/2006 09:07

I took ds to a music class when he was diddy but had to stop when I started CMing (too expensive with 3!) which was a shame as he'd have started loving it then.

Also took him to tumble tots which he hated when he turned two - you'd have to go one way around 3 bits of stuff and he couldn't understand why he couldn't go the other way or why he had to queue to climb up a ladder. I think he's a bit young to learn to queue.

He loved the trial classes, the kids are allowed to just run off and do things, they aren't seen as naughty, and the teachers bring them back by doing something very interested (like pointing out a tiny invisible mouse the kids won't see unless they come back) or doing a huge lion growl. Totally fab.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 18/11/2006 09:20

Invisible mouse lol.
I might try that with dd

Speaking of which, has anyone had the unpleasant experience of their older kids running off yet?
I went shopping the other week. I stopped to feed Ellis on a bench and dd started to wander off. When I told her to come back she just grinned at me and started running.
I had to make the quick decision of leaving Ellis or going after dd.
I painfully ran after her and just grabbed her as she stepped into the road. I then had to run back to Ellis.
It was just hell. I felt so sick after, thinking what if.
