snow, you sound like me. popping across to the shop is a major expedition in my eyes these days!

i think it must be the age they're at girls, calebs becoming such a little bugger at night he's had me in tears a few times recently! maybe it's that they're more aware of their surroundings so find it harder to settle themselves back down?

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 14/12/2006 11:23

I swear if I dont get any sleep tonight, I'm going to a hotel.
This house is ridiculous.
Ellis wasnt too bad last night. Only woke at 5:45 but dd had me up at half past midnight and 1:30
The fiasco of bedtime with her is really pissing me off. So much so that today dh and I are swapping her bedroom to what was going to be Ellis's, in the hope that she will be more comfortable. Its a smaller bedroom so she'll only be able to have her bed and one or two other bits in but maybe that will be better for her.
The only thing that does bother me is that its even further away from our bedroom so not sure if that will cause a bigger problem.
DD has gone to her schools xmas party today and they have a special guest so that should keep her happy!
I'm going to make a start on wrapping her presents. I didnt realise how much I'd bought. Its going to take me till next xmas to do it all!!!!!

Ash80 · 14/12/2006 12:07

Hello all you august 06 mums, I had my DS on august 22, and would like to join your thread. You all seeem to know each other well, i hope i can cath up!

eenysugarplumfairy · 14/12/2006 12:30

Welcome Ash!!! We do all know each other well but dont worry we're a welcoming lot. How are you finding Mummyhood?

Yellow is Santa the special guest??? Sorry you are having a nightmare at night. Hope the bedroom change sorts it out. Alex has been waking up loads as well but we've blamed his chest infection. But who knows Pink maybe it is the age.

Snow maybe we should meet up at your house then!

Well I am still hobbling around, I sprained my ankle so badly its killing me. Oh well. Can you believe its less than 2 weeks til the big day?

stumpydogsbaubles · 14/12/2006 12:49

sorry about you dh's grandad, bhm. hello ash, i'm new and have been made to feel very welcome.i'd love to meet everyone sometime but don't suppose i could as i don't live in england. i'm in jersey and we'll be going to london for ds's operation prob in feb, but i expect that will be a strange time. it should be at st thomas's and we'll be there about 5 days. how old is your dd, feathers ? mine used to sleep well but not since the birth of ds. we're planning to put them in the same room v soon, perhaps tonight.

PinkTinsel · 14/12/2006 12:55

stumpy, you and olivo can meet and have a good natter so!

hello ash, don't worry, it doesn't take lonfg to get to know people, especially those of us who spend and unhealthy amount of time on MN

well caleb went to sleep at 7.30, woke up at 8 and needed to hold my hand for 20 mins to go back to sleep, was up again at 9.30, settled for 15 mins then was up and there was no getting him down, eventually fell asleep in my arms at 12.30, woke once but settled when dp gave him his dummy and was in bed with us by 5.30 i'm knackered and dd was up while it was still dark which i'm simply not good at dealing with!

PinkTinsel · 14/12/2006 12:57

sorry for the spelling btw, calebs been screaming for 2 hours straight and is asleep on my hand now so that combined with my fried brain isn't improving my typing!

eenysugarplumfairy · 14/12/2006 13:07

Yes Stumpy you should get together with Olivo!! We'd all be jealous!

Pink how is Caleb now? Tired I bet from all that screaming!

Hey isnt it going to be depressing after xmas when we all go back to our regular names?

PinkTinsel · 14/12/2006 13:19

unconcious after realising that if he stopped screaming for long enough to suck there was milk in my boobs after all!

eenysugarplumfairy · 14/12/2006 13:38

silly boy!

olivhohoho · 14/12/2006 21:20

ooooooh, another jersey-ite! welcome stumpy!

hi all - have just dropped in to say hi, still in england, having a great time. havent had time to read the thread carefully but hope you are nall well. will be back on properly next week.
till then, take care!

jingleboobs · 14/12/2006 23:11

i have had a meltdown tonight lol

have told chris i'm not cooking for his stupid fooking sisters on xmas day so he can sort it out but i qaint doing it ive had to change my menu five times ungrateful bitches and my plans three times

they do not understand we wantede to use xmas to thank dh's mum for all her hard work and shes has been quite the opposite of wat i expected and has decorated the house from top to bottom so ithought id cook dinner for us and mil and baby and it would quiet and special and stress free but oh no the sil's had to but in so now im cooking for the whole family im soooooooooooo mad

so its come to head the sil's have made one too many sarcastic comment too many so dh can tell em im not doing it stuff em

im so soryy but ive spent the last hour sobbing coz it all kicked off jus b4 chris had to go to work and he's worried sick and ive got tears rollin sdown my face but i cant take it

im sorry to depress you all

hi to the newbie my baby was due on the 22nd but decided she was coming early and arrived on the 9th

lol pink at the smoking thread

family eh wat happened to the season of good will

stumpydogsbaubles · 14/12/2006 23:22

jingleboobs - sorry to hear your sils being a pain. i have one who can't stand me. she hasn't even been to see my ds. when she's got xmas presents for my los she's left out my older son because "he didn't say thank you." i have others who are lovely 'though. olivo - perhaps we can meet after xmas ?

PinkTinsel · 14/12/2006 23:24

lol booby, at least you know you weren't being paranoid about the smoking thing! i'm sorry your sil's are being total bitches.... how about treating mil to a pamper day at a spa or something instead? shame that they had to ruin the xmas dinner idea

hey olivo, hope the shoppings going well babe!

BigHotMamaClaus · 15/12/2006 10:44

Arrrrhhh! Havent been able to come on for 3 days as we had a bloody power cut and for some reason its done some damage to one of our sockets in the power lead! You wouldnt believe how much I cheered up when I got back on today yipee! Dh thinks I'm a right loon Xmas Hmm

Thanks so much for all your kind thoughts about DH's grandad. He's ok, but keeps havinf his moments where he cant stop crying bless him, they were so close. Dont even think we'll be able to bury him this side of xmas, apparently deaths are always up in the month of December, how depressing is that? (suicides are big news at this time of year to! Xmas Shock)

Booby sorry i didnt see your message for me to ring you till just now do you still need me to chick? Sounds like you dont need enemys with sil's like those? I agree with Pink, take her on a day out to a spa or get day tickets to a gym with all the works. WE're treatng my auntie to a day out at our gym, with jacuzzis and saunas and a massage to finish the day off. I think us ladies really appreciate stuff like that. And Stumpy, cant believe your sil missed out giving your older one a presie, thats so wrong! Xmas Shock

Seems like while some of the lo's are having trouble sleeping my little Jackson is doing the opposite and sleeping throught ill 6-7am but he did have a spell few weeks ago where I was up around 8-10 times a night complete and utter JOKE! He's really settled in his cotbed ion his own room but yesterday I found him lying on his tummy and at the opposite side of the cot upside down, he's a right little mover now!

Jackson now weighs 14lb11oz at 16 weeks. So good to see his little chicken legs are finally filling out and I cant stop munching'em.

Welcome to the madhouse Ash, you'll feel welcome here, we all just blart everything out and get loads of great support from one another. I had my ds a day before you, mind you he was 2 WEEKS LATE! Whats your ds' name and are you a 1st timer like me? Xmas Wink

Hope everyone else is good and looking forward to xmas. Am off to the flicks tonight to see romantic comedy 'The Holiday' then me and DH are going to the German Market in Birmingham Sunday afternoon to sample the delish food and wheat beer, then do a spot of last min crimbo shopping.

eenysugarplumfairy · 15/12/2006 10:57

What do you all think of the new look? I think I hate it!

Booby I am so sorry your SILs are being a PITA! You had such lovely intentions for your MIL! Try not to let them ruin xmas!

BHM glad you are back on line! Tell me how the Holiday is I wanted to see it too.

PinkTinsel · 15/12/2006 11:19

jingleboobs · 15/12/2006 11:23

bhm i still wanna chat im in later otr now if yr still around

eeny bpita i hope dh sticks up for me or it'll be me and cj on xmas day and a beef curry

jingleboobs · 15/12/2006 11:27

i quite like it but preferred other lay out

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 15/12/2006 14:18

Arghhhh! I dont like it!!!
Its making my eyes go all weird!

Totally forgot to mention the carry on we had with weaning lol. I tried Ellis on baby rice the other day and he wasnt all that great with it. So I thought that maybe he didnt like it and on wednesday night I tried him with carrot puree.
Well he threw up everywhere. It was awful, a real proper throwing up session .
Soooo I've had a good chat with my HV and we've agreed to give him just one second stage formula feed before bed to see if it gets him through the night. Theres a possibilty he still might not be able to keep it down as the enfamil formula he has is so thick but he's 16 weeks now so things could be different. As for weaning, thats well and truly going on the back burner for as long as possible now. He also weighs a tiny 13lb 11oz

Olivo, glad to hear you enjoying yourself!

Booby, bloody families ey! Keep your chin up. I'm around if you want to chat.

Stumpy, would be great if you and Olivo could meet up.

Welcome to Ash! We're a friendly bunch.
Such a shame all you newbies werent around when we were all pregnant. It was a god send this group!

BHM, you should sue the power company lol. I'd go into some sort of spasm through shock I think, if I didnt have the internet.

sarahSILVERbells · 15/12/2006 16:24

I don't like it .

Booby - at your sil's! I agree, tell them all to go and find somewhere else to fill their faces.

Had Molly weighed yesterday - 16lb 6oz at 16 weeks ! Little dumpling, as grandad calls her!

Welcome to all newbies.

lunavix · 15/12/2006 20:46

Hi everyone!

Had dd weighed today (well MIL took her as I was helping at ds's preschool christmas doo) and she weighs 12lb 12 at 16+1. People keep calling her tubby though!

HV was apparently aghast that she's soley bf and couldn't understand why I haven't started weaning.

Pfft, I say.

She was also complaining that she's dropped below the 25th centile instead of staying on it (bloody centile stupid charty things) so I have decided not to point out that not only has she marked dd's weight about 200g higher than it is, it's also on the 17 week line lol.

jingleboobs · 15/12/2006 21:35

well im still mad upest and angry !!!!!!!!!!

had a great day at work had lunch wit my mum and dh which was nice

dh is being abit wimpy abgout things re his sis's so will be interesting but there is no way im sitting down with them xmas day

thanx for the support girls

eenysugarplumfairy · 16/12/2006 10:17

been delaying posting as I really dont like the new layout.

booby I really feel for you hon xmas family stress is no good.

Yellow it sounds like leaving weaning til later is the right thing to do!

Well I am all bunged up with a head cold and still hobbling around on my decrepit legs. Wish I felt better! Oh well. What are your plans for the weekend? We are seeing friends today and tomorrow. Other than that I have to clean as always!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 16/12/2006 14:16

Nice to see you back luna. Have you done any yoga sessions yet?

Booby, hope you get xmas sorted.

Sarah, 16lb is really good!

Eeny, wish I had some of your enthusiasm. There is so much to tidy round here, its depressing. I'm afraid its a lonely weekend here as dh is working but looking at the state of the house, there should be enough to keep me busy.

Weeell, good news! WE CAUGHT THE DIRTY SMELLY DESTRUCTIVE RAT!!!!!
Curled up in the Tesco bag it was planning to have its dirty ratty sprogs in, dead as dead can be.
Not anymore!!!! Mwah mwah mwaaaaahhhh!

I also gave Ellis a bottle of the hungrier formula last night and he spewed it all up A full 8oz bottle of the stuff. So at least we know he still can't manage thinner milk.
He woke at 3am again soit looks like we'll be doing this for some time unless its just a growth spurt.
