Am excited for xmas too Eeny! I've just been spending on Kiddicare.come lol. Bought Jackson some xmas pressies, got a snuggle blanket, chicco highchair (wicked colour), a toy radio and some squeaky eggs in a box. We're also putting up our tree on Saturday, I love it when you put ther lights on at night and its all nice and cosy Cant wait to see Jackson's little face when he sees the lights.

When Jackson has been fed and burped we sit him in his bouncey chair for about half hour and he entertains himself or shouts some funny noises at the t.v. I always like to give him lots of cuddles too as after a while he gets bored in his chair, then I put him on his playgym and rattle all the toys for him. I am trying to take him on daily walks in the fresh air with him but I refuse to go out if the weather is sh*te.

Todays is gorgeous so we are going to Asda in a bit as want to get some crimbo shopping done and I'm attempting to cook my DH a lovely Beef and Veg stew as he's got man flu ha ha!

Ooh eeny let us know how you get on with the baby rice, I've been umming and ahing about wether to give jackson some before xmas as he'll be nearly 18 weeks by then. I hate all this conflicting advice on when to start weaning, just makes me all confused! My friends all weaned their babies at 3-4months but now the rules keep changing.Arrrhh!

eenysugarplumfairy · 28/11/2006 11:55

Oooh BHM which chico high chair did you get? I got this one as a gift from a close friend.

I'm speaking to the HV today about the baby rice I Will let you know what she says!

I go for walks with Alex every day but again not if the weather is crap unless I have to go out for some reason.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 28/11/2006 11:57

Helllooooooo!

I'm glad i'm not the only one getting excited about the xmas tree. I'm putting up the artificial tree on saturday in the living room and then we'll buy a real tree a bit later. Last year we bought it on the 1st and we had to throw it out on boxing day because it died!
I've just about finished the xmas shopping too.

Whats everyone doing at xmas and new year?

Dh is away again this week. Hes back thursday night but i've started to struggole again so my mums here bless her.
I can't wait for these pills to kick in!

Dreamy, sorry to hear about you mum. Thinking of you. xxx

Lockets, all the best with your house move!

BHM, enjoy your shopping!

Micku, hope the appt goes well for Talia.

Booby, roll on saturday Think I might have to record it!

eenysugarplumfairy · 28/11/2006 12:11

Yellow we got a tree one year that was horrible the needles fell off after a few days!!! we got it from a garden center. Will never do that again!! Last year we bought from an actual tree FARM and it was lovely, it lasted perfectly throughout the whole season as it was cut fresh before we bought it. The ones from garden centers are often cut as early as the beginning of October.

BigHotMama · 28/11/2006 12:17

this one (hope this works)

BigHotMama · 28/11/2006 12:21

Hiya yellow, its artificial tree all the way for me, never had a real one am too scared lol but they do look the bllcks dont they!

I decorate in a gold, brown and orange theme, do you lot do themes on your tree's? God am I sounding really sad now ha?

jingleboobs · 28/11/2006 12:43

im cooking at the mil for everyone this year so im quite excited were thinking of weaning too i hae three packs of baby rice int cupboard just scared at the mo coz not at the magics 25 weeks my breastf councillor did say at least to wait to 20 weeks so who knows

chris is putting down carpet tiles in a portacabin nr richmond eeny

yellow shame your not abit nearer we could have a boogie together

sarahSILVERbells · 28/11/2006 15:48

Weaning - I was told wait until 17 weeks at least. However, with Jack, he started demanding feeds more regularly and my hv said that this was a sign of wanting more than just milk. I then started him on baby rice and there was no stopping him! Plan to do the same with Molly - wait until her feeding habits change and then see if she wants it. If she hasn't changed by 20 weeks, plan to introduce it gradually.

Will have to go out tomorrow and buy some teething shapes for Molly. Her fist is never out of her mouth these days! Typical, I get rid of one tooth only for several more to start appearing! She's much happier without that tooth by the way.

Xmas tree - never had a real one because we always had a dog. This christmas will be a bit sad on one hand as this is the first one without my dog but it will be Molly's first xmas . Don't plan on getting any real toys for her as she is too young, but Jack is going to get really spoiled!

eenysugarplumfairy · 28/11/2006 15:54

BHM love the chair!!

Took Alex to baby clinic today, he weighs 15lb 9oz. Not bad!!

Sarah I hope this year you have happy memories of your dog. hugs! Its hard. At least you have the happiness of Molly's first christmas to balance it out.

I cant wait to give Alex his baby rice on Saturday, he is wanting so much food its hard keeping up with him!

BigHotMama · 28/11/2006 18:35

Wow Eeny, thats a bonny baby you got there 15lb 9oz is pretty good going isnt it? Bet your really proud! I cant wait to get Jackson weighed on Thursday as I've been upping his bottle feeds to 3 a day and the rest bf so am hoping he will move up the chart as the HV said he'd dropeed from 50th centile to the 9th which isnt very good. He seems a lot happoer now I've upped his ff and sleeps better during the day too. Love your chair btw, they quite similar arent they? I chose that one because the bouncey chair we have made by chicco is excellent quality and far better than the M&P's one we bought. Jackson loves it.

Ah how sad about it being your 1st xmas without your dog Sarahlou, have you thought about having another? Mind you, you got your hands full now anyway with your 2 lo's. My mom has got 3 weirmaraners, dont know how they do it? I think they are substitiutes for me and my sister as we both left home lol.

Booby, where did you get your xmas baubles from hun? They sound lovely.

Well I got such a busy few days ahead, am off to see Pink in concert tomorrow night in Birmingham with my sister, then On Thursday night we just heard a friend cant make the Paul Weller concert in Wolverhampton so me and DH are ging for his birthday treat? Cant wait!

ronniemummy · 28/11/2006 21:29

Well done, BHM on the weight loss- was tht your first week?I lost 5 lb first week ,get weighed tomorrow but tonight had a bit of a choc craving and ate 3 Cadbury Cake bars! [blush}

Lots of talk about weaning- at what age should you start?
I have just started Katie on Hungry baby milk and is devouring 6-7oz bottles at 12weeks. Two weeks ago( 10weeks) she weighed 13lb 9oz. So I have a feeling that she will be wanting food early. She is already watching us eat our food.

She has her second lot of injections tomorrow

ronniemummy · 28/11/2006 21:29

Meant to add that weight wise she is on the 9oth centile and her length is on the 98th centile- big baby!

MrsChristmasboo · 28/11/2006 21:40

Oh and to let you all know i have now weaned Austin and the poor love just can't get enough! He is the same length as baby nx door who is 8 months! No wonder he has been a bit grizzly....

Am in process of sorting pic out so bear with me....

Dreamy and Luna am thinking of you both and your mums x

BigHotMama · 28/11/2006 22:26

Wow Ronniemummy your lo is bigger than mine? I think Jackson must be the smallest baby for his age on this thread? At 12 weeks he was only 11lb5oz but since then I have upped his feeds and hoping he may be over 12lb when we go Thursday.

Snowboo, what have you weaned with? Baby rice? Sounds like the little man is enjoying his frst tastes then bless! How heavy is Austin?

I am thinking of having Jackson's name tattooed somewhere personal but not sure where, I'd like it done in really fancy writing and not too big. May have it done on my back somewhere if i'm brave enough lol

BigHotMama · 28/11/2006 22:27

Oh yes it was my 1st week Ronnie! Fingers crossed you lose tomorrow. Do you go on the Slimming World Thread? I've started going on there this week to get a bit of support, they're all really friendly.

PinkTinsel · 28/11/2006 23:22

well caleb had his second vacs today and took it like a trouper.... barely cried at all just yelled at the second one. i do hate having to hold them down though i feel so evil when he looks at me all upset

well done on the weight loss BHM and ronnie.... need to get my ass in gear in that respect too. i'm losing some weight but it's creeping off so damn slowly and i have no clothes that fit!

dd got her referral to paediatric today too, the gp agreed that coelias need to be ruled out as it's a possibility, and her weight is shockingly low. she weighs the same as she did this time last year barely heavier than caleb poor mite.

how's the weaning going Snow? i sooo can't be bothered at the minute with caleb. he's in no need anyway, for all his size he's not hugely hungry so weaning would be more hassle than bfing tbh. are you just giving baby rice yet or have you started on the purrees?

melsy · 29/11/2006 09:00

Dreamy so sorry to hear abou yuor mum , my thughts are with you. Its upsetting when parents get ill , my dad has a virus and hes been having heart problems and hes not been good at all, so I know how worried you can be.

Ive got another thread in health as Ive had a rough 24hrs and its all to do wioth my back. I saw a cranial osteopath and had a very extreme reaction. NO one is coming on to giveme symptahy . here .

Im needing to rest all day and not move much , how can I NOT move with a 3yr old and 3mth old, funny that??????????????????!!!!!!!

eenysugarplumfairy · 29/11/2006 09:29

Pink I didnt know you were that worried about Sarah. I'm sorry! Hope the peadiatrician helps ASAP. Let us know.

AND... I SOOOOO know what you mean. I have to take Alex today for his vaccinations and I am dreading it. I hate holding him when he is about to be stabbed with a needle, I want him to always feel safe in my arms. Its awful. Ronniemummy will be thinking of you too.

Melsy so sorry you are having so much pain. Hope it gets better really soon!

BHM dont worry about JAckson being small. I know an 8 month old who is smaller than Alex and she is healthy as a horse. All babies grow at different weights as long as he is healthy thats the main thing.

Well we went to Tescos last night and did a big Christmas shop for our party which is not this Sunday but next. Am so excited looking forward to it! This Saturday Alex is going to wear his Father CHristmas outfit for the first time. Will have to post a piccie of him in it.

Hope you are all well!

eenysugarplumfairy · 29/11/2006 13:00

wow no one has posted all morning!

Had Alex's jabs this morning, it was AWFUL. he was so smiley and happy before and then he was crying loads after. POOR baby!!

BigHotMama · 29/11/2006 13:11

I'm here Eeny but havent got much energy to post today. Jackson is getting me up all times dfuring the night and its got to me today. Not sure what to do, he;s still in his moses basket next to our bed but am now thinking maybe he needs to be in his cot bed (which is till in the box) and in the nursery. Had me up nearly every hour last night and cant figure out why? Tried calpol, took DH half an hour to get him back to sleep at the 5.30 wake up and he had to go to work at 6.30am. Think hes teething, but maybe he's just not comfy in his bed anymore? He's been asleep for an hour but i cant sleep during the day so feeling very zombified todAY..

Sorry for not being very sociable today and hope everyone else is doing ok!

PinkTinsel · 29/11/2006 13:13

i'm here too eeny. bit of a foul mood too though so din't want to inflict my crankiness on you guys

eenysugarplumfairy · 29/11/2006 13:14

aw BHM I am sorry its been hard. It could be a growth spurt, and/or teething.

eenysugarplumfairy · 29/11/2006 13:15

Dee I dont mind a bad mood. sign in to msn

lunavix · 29/11/2006 13:30

Crikey at babies.

BHM, at 12 weeks dd was 11lb 5 I think??? At 14 weeks (friday) she was 12lb 3! I'd love it if she was one of the diddiest ds has always been huge (91st centile since 2 months old!)

ronniemummy · 29/11/2006 16:48

Sorry to hear everyone is feeling fed up today- I was a bit like that yesterday and ended up having a bit of a choc fix- not good when weigh in is tonight!!!

BHM- we only put Katie in her cot in the nursery on Sun evening( at 12weeks) and I no longer hear her at 3.30-4am when she was waking ever since stopping one of her feeds. She now seems to be sleeping until 6.30-7am after her 10pm feed.

We stopped her night feeds by putting the dummy in her mouth when she woke up so wasn't relying on the milk to send her off to sleep again!

HAve also just changed her to number 2 C and G for hungriler babies which seems to have worked a treat with her- do you perhaps need to change milk?

Hope it all works out soon xx
