Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lunavix · 18/11/2006 11:26

Yep

Ds started running out the school gate when picking up the mindees from school - down a main road.

Have to chase after him with buggy (no hope of catching him however) and fortunately he stopped and I caught up.

'Bye ds' sometimes works if he thinks I'm going he'll come back... sometimes.

PinkTinsel · 18/11/2006 12:00

count yourself lucky it's only happened once, many shop assistants have been left watching caleb for me as i leg it after dd

most memorable was the health shop last week dp was watching sarah and i was paying, i'd pulled the trolly in with us so it was blocking our way out and dp and dd were on the inside of me, cue dd running around behind the counter and out the door, dp not being able to get past me, me squeezing past the trolly and legging it out after her leaving my wallet and everything on the counter and bloody dp trying to run out with me and leaving caleb in the shop asleep in the trolly! had to yell at the twat to stay with caleb so when i got back with a giggling dd he was coming out of the shop with the trolly but with my wallet and all the stuff i'd bought still on the counter! not sure which of them i was more annoyed at!

What will you be doing?

Pinky, Tatty Bumpkins is a company that do yoga for kids. Basically you go and do a course and then you can teach it but its when you want. You can sell their merchandise too to make a bit of extra cash.

PinkTinsel · 18/11/2006 16:41

dreamydowler · 18/11/2006 22:30

hi everyone. Sorry Ive not been around for so long Ive had a really bad couple of weeks. My mum was in hospital again for a biopsy on her lung we are still awaiting the results. We are trying to remain optimistic and I thank everyone for your positive thoughts. We had a very traumatic experience this week my dishwasher went on fire and although we all got out and are ok it was a very scary time. I was watching tv and feeding sophie jane in the living room whilst totally oblivious to the thick black smoke that was filling the kitchen and the flames which were getting dangerously close to our gas boiler. My two sons aged 14 and 8 were in their bedrooms as was my little girl age 3. Fortunately my partner managed to get us all out and call the fire brigade out . He had just come back from the shops and saw the smoke and flames through the window. We are all ok but I havent been able to sleep properly since.
Im glad so many of our group are able to post these days it was lovely to read through all your posts. Sophie-Jane is doing really well and has had a few nights were she has slept through but its not every night yet. She had her first jabs on tuesday and was weighed. She is now 12lb 9oz and is just above the 75th centile for both weight and height. She is such a happy baby full of smiles. My three year old daughter has cut her beautiful hair today I could cry as now she will have to have her curls cut short my owm fault for not having eyes in my backside. We are hoping to move house in the new year if the woman who was supposed to come and view today still wants to go ahead. I managed to put her off for a few days whilst we redecorate the kitchen. Thankfuly it is just a lot of smoke damage and back to washing dishes by hand.

sarahlou1uk · 19/11/2006 08:36

Oh my god Dreamy!!! Thank goodness you are all ok. What a nightmare. At least it was during the day and not at night. Here's hoping you get decorated before xmas and that the woman wants to buy your house! Fingers crossed for your mum .

Molly is full of cold and keeps bringing up lots and lots of phlegm (don't know how to spell it but you get the general picture!). I can thank her brother Jack's school for the cold. It only takes one pupil with cold to pass it on to everyone else. I'm just hoping I don't get it!

PinkTinsel · 19/11/2006 09:39

dreamy. what a scare for you! i'm so glad your all ok though, thank god your dp got back when he did.

i'll be keeping your mom in my thoughts and hoping for a good result from the biopsy.

at least sophie jane sounds like she's doing fabulously, how'd she take the jabs?

sarah, calebs been a bit sick this week to,still not sure what was wrong with himbut it's horrible seeing them so miserable isn't it? hope molly gets over it soon

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 19/11/2006 09:53

Morning all

Crikey DD!!!
Thank god your all ok. What a scare for you all. Sending positive vibes for your mum. Hope everything with the house goes well.

Yey Booby on that computer You'll be able to spend every waking minute on MN and msn lol.

Pinky and Sarah, hope Caleb and Molly are ok. Puts them all out of sync doesn t it when they're not well doesn t it.

Eeny, yes hurry up and get msn again. We miss you!

Dh has now decided to get his behind into gear and get a date for Ellis baptism. Not convinced that the preist will be so taken on doing it, since I have no beliefs what so ever and dh although he "believes" wont go to church lol. So if the priest does agree he must be barmy.
So we'll have all that to oragnise and a get together for afterwards.

eenysugarplumfairy · 19/11/2006 10:02

Oh Dreamy I am so sorry!!! You have been through a hard time havent you! I am so glad the fire wasnt worse than it was and am keeping a good thought for your Mum.

I am JUST about to go feed Alex and while I am doing that Sal is going to download MSN for me again and see if it works better this time!! SO hopefully I will see you all there. Not sure if we will be using the same email address or what so I will let you know as soon as its done.

Booby that is so great that you got a computer!!!! That is so sweet of your DH. Hope to talk to you more then! Sorry I havent called you back yet I have been crazy busy but will call today! Who knows I may see you on msn before that!

dreamydowler · 19/11/2006 13:40

thanks everyone we are all fine. Sophie-Jane is getting christened on 10th december its a joint ceremony with my sisters little boy. Its stressful organising it all. I was supposed to be having a 40th birthday party the weekend before but Ive cancelled and decided to go out for a meal instead. Im not in the least bit organised for xmas and am getting increasingly stressed about the prospect of having to pack for the move. It doesnt feel five minutes ago that we were decorating over the summer and we are going to have to start all over again as the new house needs a hell of a lot of work. Its a mutual exchange as we are in a council 3 bedroom flat and have been in desparate need of a house for a long time but everything seems to have all happened at once since Sophie-Jane has been born. She was fine with her injections thankfuly. I have been giving her the odd bottle too I think its good to be able to get out and not have to worry Ive been very laid back about her feeding bottle expressed or fomula but mostly breast still and she just adapts. My 3 yr old has been a bit of a nightmare at nursery school Ive had to go and discuss her behaviour a couple of times. I think they expect too much of them too soon. She has been great with the baby however. How has everyone elses toddlers reacted? What are we doing about our meet up? I really havent had the energy with everything else thats happened sorry but didnt someone offer to have us all at theirs I really want to do something as you guys have kept me sane. Dps dad has to have a heartbypass operation Im not sure what this involves but it sounds serious. He is from a big family and they all smoke. Dp is desparately trying to stop the odd cigar he still gives in to since his brothers heart attack and dads heart problems too.

jingleboobs · 19/11/2006 14:18

eeny im sorry i missed you but pc will be on all day so bing me

purpleturtle · 19/11/2006 18:11

Must be the season, dreamy. elijah is being christened on 3 December. We're not inviting hoards of people, just close family and friends really. Lots of our friends will be at the church anyway, and then we're going to go to the godparents' house for simple lunch after. (Baked spuds and beef casserole left in the Aga all morning, yum!)
Do need to get myself to M & S for the cake, though. maybe Tuesday. We'll see.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 20/11/2006 07:21

Dreamy dont worry about the meet up. You have enough on.
I think we'd all like to meet up but its going to be quite hard because of where we all are.
If anyone else can suggest something or if you have another idea....!

Eeny, I've put your address in msn but IIRC when I set mine up again some of the addresses wouldn't activate if that makes sense. Sooooo could you beep me at some point just to see if its working. If I dont reply its just because I'll have taken dd to school or something.

lunavix · 20/11/2006 08:22

Hi everyone

dear god dreamy, glad you are all okay

I found out this weekend my mum has terminal lung cancer. It's a bit of a shock, I phoned my sister straight away (she lives in Australia) and we're both quite upset (as is mum obviously.)

It's hard because neither of us are close to her, I see her maybe twice a year, and they fell out about four or five years ago and haven't talked since. But at the end of the day, still your mum. She isn't very very young but like I said, a massive shock.

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 20/11/2006 08:27

Oh shit Luna
Are you ok? Stupid question really.
Do you live near her?

eenysugarplumfairy · 20/11/2006 08:48

Luna I am so sorry. I dont speak to my mum and I still dont know how I would feel if she got cancer. I am really really sorry. Will be thinking of you.

Yellow I beeped you!

Hope I can get on msn and MN today, I have some workmen coming to the house so will have to wait til after they leave I suspect.

eenysugarplumfairy · 20/11/2006 08:48

sorry i didnt reply to everyones posts Alex is kicking up!

dreamydowler · 20/11/2006 09:21

oh Luna thats awful. Im really scared about my mums biopsy she gets the results on 18th december right on top of xmas. You only get one mum in this life and Im sure you'll all agree life is just too short. I hope you and your sister have the chance to be with her for xmas my thoughts are with you luna xx

Good morning eeny you are doing really well with Alex I cant believe how quickly the time has gone since our beautiful babies have been born
