spotty how about some sort of winter spiced punch? Then you can control the alcohol level (and the price!)
T was up at 5.30 again (but thankfully no-one was up in the night). We seem to be trapped in a vicious circle of day nap = early wake, early wake = unable to stay awake all day.
I'm doing really well with refusing boob feeds and she's starting to accept it with distraction (mainly teletubbies or peppa). Just the early morning feeds to go.

utopian99 · 12/10/2014 10:09

We gave each table one of red, a white, and an ice bucket with some bottled beers in, just in case of non-wine drinkers, which seemed to provide enough for most people. (And obviously water/soft drinks for those that wanted..)

We've had our first night away with O at his gps - weird but also lovely! Last one before the newbie arrives. Eek.

halestone · 12/10/2014 12:35

WL i love the spiced punch idea, sounds like something a little different but still amazing.

Utopian i'm glad you had a lovely night.

H is almost over this cold Grin However today she is very grumpy today.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/10/2014 12:36

WL great minds. We're going for water, winter fruit punch and champagne cider Smile

utopian99 · 12/10/2014 14:32

Ooh, sounds lovely spotty!

Quick car seat question - O's head is pretty much at the top of his car seat again (maxicosi cabrio fix). When do we need to change to the next? Thought we had a while in this one..

SpottyTeacakes · 12/10/2014 15:09

Either when he reaches the weight limit or when the tops of his ears reach the top of the seat

WLmum · 12/10/2014 16:48

Excellent spotty! We got married in the summer and had pimms to keep costs down. It went down a storm. I love a winter wedding.

Barbeasty · 12/10/2014 19:36

We had a winter wedding (not that far now from 12 years) and had mulled wine as a welcome drink, wine on the tables, and got the hotel to buy a barrel of beer for DH who hates wine. We Dad paid for the beer outright, so people could help themselves all evening- especially my uncle who crawled under the hatch into the bar area when the bar staff had disappeared.

A just screamed while I washed his hair, hating having the water poured over. Then spent the next 10-15 minutes pouring water over his face. I'll say it again- idiot!!

utopian99 · 12/10/2014 20:29

If I offer things to O to eat quite often we get a very prim 'No', followed immediately by him eating it. No logic, these toddlers.

On the hair washing front, O used to hate getting the water over his face but we've now turned looking at the ceiling into part of the general hair washing game and he's fine again..

SpottyTeacakes · 12/10/2014 20:33

Ds keeps crying because of his cough. Going to be another long night...??

MrsNutella · 12/10/2014 21:21

spotty so excited for you. We're almost coming up to a year of being married.Shock It's been an interesting year... the day was amazing. We had a small wedding, my mum supplied gallons of champagne and in the end DH's parents paid for the catering. It doesn't matter what you supply, as long as you're happy and would enjoy it your guests really will have a great time.

*Utopian O sounds so cute. How are you managing? You can't have long left now??
I miss bathing DS. DH usually does it because DD has a knack for feeding from about dinner time until DS's bedtime. I know it's not forever, but I still miss it Oh and I know DD was conceived about a week after we got married Wink

WLmum · 12/10/2014 22:21

nutella a year??!! Where has that time gone?
spotty I hope he's ok - bowl if hot water in his room? Viks? Anything helping? I think I'm probably in for a hard night too as at snuck a 2nd nap late this arvo when we were lost exploring the woods

ddas · 12/10/2014 23:28

spotty great idea. Much better than wine- wow at the £18 a bottle.
Hope ds has settled down. Dd has a cough at the moment too. Kept waking her up last night but since we raised one side if the cot up so she's not lying flat seems to have eased.

halestone · 12/10/2014 23:41

Nutella i agree with WL that has flown. Grin Maybe your year anniversary will bring baby number 3Grin

Beasty H hates her hair being washed it causes a huge tantrum, but as soon as i wipe her eyes afterwards the tears stop.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2014 05:51

He was up a few times in the night and then up at 4:50 Hmm not sure how much longer I can cope with these early starts! Dp has my cold and is obviously dying Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2014 05:54

Wow Nutella a year? Everything's going so quick.

Ds has learnt to blow his nose (can't remember if I said?!)

utopian99 · 13/10/2014 08:12

Congratulations Nutella! Baby 2 is due in mid November so not long now. Getting ruddy uncomfortable, so will be happy to get it out but sad for O having to deal with the attention loss.

Started washing all his baby things for this one yesterday - so tiny!

We're having our floors re-sanded after they didn't do such an ace job first time round (before we moved all the furniture in.) So much more stress with beds and bookcases to move first and a toddler to keep out trouble!

WLmum · 13/10/2014 10:38

Ouch spotty. Amazingly T was up at 2.30 but settled quickly after a boob feed then slept til 6.40!! The latest in months. She's full if beans today so will try for no nap.
utopian cute! Try not to feel sad for o's loss of attention, and feel happy for the playmate/partner in crime that you're giving him!

MrsNutella · 13/10/2014 13:53

Thanks ladies, it's actually the start of next month, so I feel cheeky for calling it a bit early. In a couple of days it will be four years since I moved to Germany.
And at the end of the month 5 years since I met DH. Hmmmm need to celebrate that in some way. It's been a very crazy 5 years!

spotty yuk, I hate early mornings! I really feel for you. Hope you get it sorted out soon. And I hope dp doesn't expect too much nursing.

*Utopian the change is difficult and even it took quite a few weeks to really be able to see it DS is definitely jealous. He loves DD but when he gets the chance of proper alone time with me I can see how nice it is for him and for me. Sometimes he makes it totally obvious that he is jealous and would like some attention Then it's just hard. ConfusedSorry. But I also think it's not forever. It's only a short time that they are so small and very soon they will be bigger and hopefully playing together

MrsNutella · 13/10/2014 13:56

and hales no way. 3 under 3?! ConfusedShockShock
That would be pure insanity!! I think I'd be a mess in the corner. Ask me next year. I might consider 3 under five but first when DS and DD are older. And I need DH to agree too.

halestone · 13/10/2014 13:59

Nutella, i absolutely know its not the same thing but there is only 14 months between H and her cousin whom i look after 5 days a week and they are so close. They often play together and have little conversations. When their apart the really miss each other.

H's cold wasn't better yesterday she just got worse as the day went on, her breathing sounds terrible and i had to call my dad to come round and reassure meBlush

Spotty, hope the early rises sort themselves out soon and that your DP is better.

Utopian that sounds like hard work moving all the furniture.Brew

halestone · 13/10/2014 14:00

Haha Nutella i agree total nightmare having 3 under 3. Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2014 05:46

4:50 wake up Sad

halestone · 14/10/2014 10:53

oh no spottyBrew Brew Brew

H's blood tests from last week came back normal but they've booked her in with the GP on thursday morning. The thing is i know H will scream the place down and won't co-operate with the Dr so i'm dreading going.

PurplePidjin · 14/10/2014 11:57

Brew and Cake all round

After a tricky and busy few days with all of us ill, R slept through (5:30-6) last night and DP has a new job :o
