Wandathewindfairy · 13/07/2014 12:45

We did the same as vq when we moved. The only thing I miss is the sky plus facility.

Lily311 · 13/07/2014 12:57

I am absolutely livid. My best friend has an 8yr old daughter, she has been separated from her dad for 4 years. Her daughter has been asking for a year now to let her cut her long hair to shoulder length and they agreed that after the first holy communion she could. She is stunning, shorter hair really suits her. Her idiot father just told her that she was ugly and he doesn't like the new hair cut and refuses to take her to the church or anywhere public. FFS she is 8, her confidence is broken, apparently she has been crying for hours now. I just want to fly back to the uk and cuddle her. I am so so upset by this, what kind of father is he??

PetiteRaleuse · 13/07/2014 13:02

Wow. What a twat. Poor kid :( it is so damaging to tell a child they are ugly/stupid/other negative things. How sad, poor little girl.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/07/2014 14:29

pass in answer to your defuzzing question. I am one who can get lady garden waxed but not my legs. Legs were done once and it was agony! I'm hoping I get enough warning fro next op day to sort out said garden as makes the aftermath much easier! I got my eyebrows waxed a week ago and the girl was new and shite and I am now sporting half eyebrows... Not good! I shall not be going back!

I've bought some new gym gear in the hope I can go as luck as possible until I go in for surgery....

Wandathewindfairy · 13/07/2014 15:29

30 day shred now or later?

Passmethecrisps · 13/07/2014 15:40

I am sensing another column being added to PR's spreadsheet:

lady garden - swim suit tidy? Action ready aviation strip? Wildlife friendly?

And I also propose that we either a) stick a few quid in each to hire a hit man or b) train ourselves up as an elite crack squad to sort out that utter dick for lily's little friend. Dads are supposed to make their little girls feel invincible. Total cunt

Pikz · 13/07/2014 15:52

Lily... Pass took the words out of my mouth about that dad

Right, outside play toys got from a nursery closure for pennies all clean, lasagna made, fish pie made, posh cottage pie made....all ready for DH to come home now Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 13/07/2014 15:56

Ha ha pass that could be a useful column for this year's secret santa :o

When I was shaved for the ELCS i couldn't stop giggling it was so ticklish. The mw doing it kept giving me Hmm looks Blush . In my defense I am extremely ticklish.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/07/2014 16:33

Ditto ditto ditto. What a jerk. He has officially lost his "hero" title.

Fs wendy house is officially finished now as I have made bunting Grin shall pop pic on fb when I get chance.

Enjoy dhs return, Pikz. And don't be surprised if you get random quiche members pitching up for meals with all that yummy grub.

Chasing how is your face ache today?

We are eating strawberries ahead of a little bbq this evening.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/07/2014 16:33

And Grin at PRs spreadsheet!

ValiumQueen · 13/07/2014 16:52

Spreadsheet. Very apt.

ValiumQueen · 13/07/2014 18:25

Have been out for most of the day enjoying the sun. Started with a car boot this morning where I got five pairs of Clarks shoes and Wellies for £5 total, and a bike for DD2 for £3. It is lovely, and has been riding like a pro Smile DD1 got hit in the face by a chair swing and DD2 fell off the roundabout. J, for a change, remains uninjured Grin

Lily311 · 13/07/2014 18:31

O fall off the bed 5 min before bedtime, she really cried. A lot. I have the sitter coming as going to theatre but obviously it's raining. It's an open air one. Rain and wind, who cares?

pass you are awesome. I really feel for that little girl as she is beautiful even with shorter hair. Her dad has always been emotionally abusive with my friend but never ever thought that he would do that to an innocent little girl. I'm going to send something for her to cheer her up.

vq great news on bargains. I love bargain shoes. Got 2 pairs of doodles for £3 brand new a couple of months back, they will be perfect for nursery. She is starting it in 6 weeks, feeling rather sad about it.

ChasingDaisy · 13/07/2014 19:43

Face ache is a lot better thanks pig. Was horrid. I think it was the muggy weather as it rained overnight and I'm feeling a lot better.

Passmethecrisps · 13/07/2014 20:25

Evening. DH did bedtime so I have had a chance to mug up on causing injuries which leave no marks. . . .

Glad your face is better chasing. Awful thing. Not your face. Your face is quite lovely. Sinusitis is not.

Poor O lily. I imagine you will remember long after she has forgotten.

I discovered a new meal time hit today. Indian mince from he bbc good food site. We had mince which was use by today and little else and little room in the freezer for yet more ingredients and no meals. This was dead easy and took 10 minutes. P was watching me cook and asked for some. Then some more then she ended up have two bowls of it! That wasn't even her dinner - she had quiche for dinner and that went down well as well. I swear the girl has hollow legs.

I mention the mince though because it is dead easy and very cheap. I will definitely make it again.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/07/2014 21:10

Thanks pass will look that up :)

BigPigLittlePig · 13/07/2014 21:13

Link pass?

Am feeling rather proud - we went for what was supposed to be a quick walk after tea, just up the road to the common. I had F in the sling, on my back. Anyway. We got lost. 90 minutes later, we must have walked miles, we eventually got home, v sweaty and worn out! Was fun though, and v Bear Grylls as we beat our way through the undergrowth!

Passmethecrisps · 13/07/2014 21:17

Here ya are :

tasty Indian mince

BigPigLittlePig · 13/07/2014 21:29

Should have said - proud because I carried 2 stone of toddler for miles.

Back onto night shifts tomorrow, boooo. Am hopeful F might let us lie in as was so late to bed

Passmethecrisps · 13/07/2014 21:37

I am very impressed bp. I am knackered after carrying the whingy one to the park. I have one very strong bicep!

ChasingDaisy · 13/07/2014 21:47

Thank you pass. Your face is lovely too.

My back has been hurting a lot this week and I couldn't figure out why. I have just realised that it is because I have been carrying O here there and everywhere. My body will be glad of the rest when I go back to work tomorrow.

TheDetective · 13/07/2014 21:48

What a dick Lily. Some people don't deserve to be parents Hmm.

We have just got Netflix here. DP is giving me a running commentary on what we can get. He's doing my nut in. I'm not sure DS1 would forgive me ever if I got rid of sky though Hmm. The Disney channels don't come on freeview! Maybe in a year or so he might stop watching them!

Pikz you've just reminded me. I want to cook a couple of meals for O for the freezer. Does anyone have any good cheap but healthy! recipes for the following? Cottage or shepherds pie, fish pie, beef stew, or anything that would be suitable really. I realised O doesn't ever have things like this as we don't make them. So I should do this. I know I could look them up, but I bet there are some tried and tested in the quiche!

On the veg front, O went through a 6 month phase of declining most veg. Unless it was covered in some sort of moist accompaniment, or in mash. Hmm Then a few days ago, he surprised me buy wolfing down a load of green beans. Tonight he got roasted peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes, and eat those too. Without them being covered in anything. I was surprised. I guess it's true what they say, just keep putting them on the plate and one day they might try them again? Anyway, this now means I will be less pissed off at the amount of veg the dog gets fed at each meal. Sure the dog will be delighted Hmm Grin.

In other news, this year I am incredibly organised. I have started my christmas shopping. I have O's birthday card, wrapping paper, and banners. I also have some of his birthday/christmas presents. I have made lists of what I have bought, who for, how much spent, and where it has been stashed.

I feel like superwoman! Grin. Wait til I lose my lists....!

TheDetective · 13/07/2014 21:54

BP sounds like my idea of hell Grin. Toddler on back, sweating, walks. Urghhhh!

I am also on nights tomorrow, but I have the shittiest offduty for the next few weeks, with split nights, days in the middle of split night shifts. You name it, I've got it. Feeling so pissed about it!!

O slept in til 11.30 this morning. It's ridiculous. He loves a weekend lie in Hmm. He wants to get his 15 hours sleep in, whatever way he can Hmm.

Zamboni · 13/07/2014 22:07

15 hours det?!!! we're lucky to get 10! By 11.30 we've usually been up for at least 6 hours.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/07/2014 22:08

15 hours?

Just cried at Titanic. Where the lady tucks her children up in bed Sad Am an emotional wreck post-F. Dh laughed at me Blush
