vq I was surprised too, I am, shall we say... hmm was thinking of a nice way to put it, but to be blunt, a big fatty haha! I thought it would break, it is a cot bed though, are they a bit bigger than cots? Must be to fit me in.
I tell you what aswell, S is no where near ready for a bed, my goodness me, at one point she was sleeping across me. She used to wriggle in our bed, but this was something else.

Oh no poor J.

I took VQs tips of foam thingy and rapid return. They are working here. Bedtimes are lovely now.

Also complete consistency from everyone who puts him to bed.

wanda dp done a tiny bit of weeding the other day and was whinging about it hurting, I didn't believe him, maybe I should have been a bit more sympathetic Blush

Ha cross post stunt
Poor J. I have no advice re the bed, but think it can only be a good thing for J with how much he hates the cot.

vq are you trying to provoke a fight or something? i don't understand, why the attacks?

Report
StuntNun · 04/06/2014 08:33

Thanks Pikz. We did rapid return with DS1 and DS2 but they were a bit older when they went into a bed. I have VQ's fabby foam bumper as well, just got to get a shelf up for the nappy changing stuff.

If I got in our cot it would be a great way of converting it to a cotbed and its not meant to convert to a cotbed! Grin

PP I don't think VQ is trying to pick a fight she isn't like that - but I think she's a bit sceptical of your claim "oh I just mentioned she was fat and smoking as a joke / cliché" which is fair enough. It did come across as judgy rather than a joke TBH but that may just be the nuances of the typed word rather than the intention.

the point was made. i apologised and promised to keep things calm. i thought it was water under the bridge, come back today for a fresh start and am still under attack. what am i supposed to think, from a poster who has made it clear they don't much like me?

Report
ValiumQueen · 04/06/2014 09:12

PP I am sure you recall your attack when someone used the word fucktard. I think you are hypocritical, and appear to be proving it yet again. My main point yesterday was meant to be that in your situation you should not really be judgy. Anyway I am saying this to you on the thread as I do not want to be accused of saying nasty things via messages.

FWIW Pidj, I share VQ's views, as well as having been quite personally offended by some comments you have made on FB. VQ isn't the type to start a fight, I think it is just a product of a few controversial comments from you lately.

And perhaps I am trying to pick a fight as I am pretty sick of pussyfooting around. Perhaps put an AIBU about your situation? I think that would make for interesting reading.

kyz you've reminded me that E is also 19 months in a couple of days. in some ways it feels like she has been around forever.

I adore this age. I think it was around 18 months that DD1 turned from my delightful little baby into a small child full of challenging characters (trying to be polite). I'm in no doubt this will happen with E, her determined side is already shining through. but for the most part she is still a delight. in fact she's still asleep now so is at her best Grin

I've been getting lots of things to keep DD1 busy on the flight but haven't really thought about E! I'm hoping a couple of books and some paper to scribble on will keep her happy. she can sit on my lap for ages at home reading books but I bet she won't want any of it whilst on the plane.

lily Do you have any bright ideas that you are planning to use with O?

Guys please don't let this get out of hand. This is supposed to be a safe place for us. I can't take a quiche fight. Can people please say their piece and work it out calmly.

If you were a man.

And you had been in Brussels being an erstwhile representative of your country working hard and eating delicious food , quite tired 3 o'clock start this morning, schmoozing no doubt tonight and not returning home till midnight tomorrow then into the office with a hours commute each way would you appreciate bruschetta followed by a creamy pesto risotto with a nice bottle of wine and a perfect wife.

Or......

Would you prefer a few crisps a beer and a chicken Dhansak?

Pidj I suspect the meaning of your comments was lost in translation, as it were. Like you said, water under the bridge?

Sorry for some crap nights, am just snuggling down for mine now, and trying to ignore the BT van parked outside the house. Better not be doing anything noisy.

Hope Lilys flight was ok, welcome back to sunny Hmm England.

I'm hungry. Ravenous in fact. But too tired to eat. Gah.

All of those things sophia

And what Stunt said.

You missed a bj on that list wanda :o I'd go for curry, beer or wine and leave the posh stuff for another night when he's not too knackered to appreciate it.

The quiche is a safe place but we should also be allowed to be honest and open and say what's on our mind when we disagree with what someone has said.

I watched the baby programme last night and I really enjoyed it but it didn't really tell me much I didn't know already. In the late 90s and early 00s there was quite a lot of stuff like that on TV and remember the child of our time which started then, it was all a lot of the same.

The stuff about the senses was all new though I think.

I watched most of it then a little more on +1 got v pissed off with the ad breaks. It was a tad superficial they could have done a really good in depth series.

Yes as PR says please say what's on your mind but things were getting a bit fraught and I don't want us to descend into name calling. For a start we have all been honest and open here and we know each other so well that any needling would be sure to cut to the bone.
