Ooh Inge to start a new thread. So if the last one was the one where they don't sleep, then they'll start to sleep now, yes?

I go back to work next Weds Kitty. DS started properly today. Full day today, tomorrow and Friday. I've just done a lovely yoga class and am using the next few days to have lunches, get hair cut etc. miss DS though. Sad

pear definitely want to hear all TTC details! I'm beginning to accept that I will do it all again but not yet!

Oh you poor things! I keep forgetting ya'lls don't have AC over there! Have you been taking field trips to the grocery stores and Iceland? Wink

AGnu · 24/07/2014 04:00

To ho t finis whol word... Wink

I decided to cut out all artificial sugar. I made the decision to start immediately in the middle of the day. By 8pm DH & I still hadn't had dinner & I ended up with a headache & had to go to bed after eating just half my dinner. Not entirely sure if it was the lack of sugar or the heat that did it but I'll not be attempting any sudden diet changes without proper planning until the weather's cooler! You never know, I might actually research it & ease myself into it in a sensible way... I gave up coke years ago completely cold turkey & didn't really suffer any ill effects but that was pre-children & at a time in my life when I had frequent headaches & rarely got out of bed anyway so probably wouldn't have noticed the cause of the headaches. If I can switch coke for water I can soooo ditch the biscuits & chocolate...

We have AC in our living room and bedroom Grin

DS's nursery had a baby summer party yesterday. Very fun. DS spent most of it splashing everyone who came in range of the little paddling area they had set up. They had a picnic tea too and played some games.

It was VERY sunny and hot though and not much shade in that part of the garden. Everyone was well suncreamed up and hats on all the babies but DS did get very hot. By the time we got home he was baked - AC on and curtains closed in all rooms. Even by bedtime and after a bath he was still very hot. We were a bit worried tbh. Didn't sleep as well as usual either.

Still, seems fine today and I've asked nursery to keep him out of the sun as much as possible today.

I vote for a bus party at Lor's! Wink

I found a novel way to keep our living room a little cooler... I've cleaned the carpet! Now the floor's damp I swear it's a degree or 2 colder!

Lorelei353 · 24/07/2014 20:09

whoop whoop! Grin

You totally could have had a headache from the sugar-cut. That shiz is addicting! I get the same headache after about 24hrs if I cut it out cold-turkey (and then the damn ice-cream cravings return). You can do it! Stay strong Agnu!

Poor little guy getting all hot! I always feel so bad when my kids' faces turn beet-red.

I just called animal control on the neighbor's dog Blush. That f'er has been running around in our yard, pooping everywhere, digging up my garden, barking at my kids, ran into our house... I finally lost it and marched over there and talked to the owner about a month ago (I feel like I've mentioned this to ya'll already...) but there was the dog again today... running through my yard taking a giant dump next to my garden box. Feeling particularly fed up with life this week, I impulsively called the po-po and filed a complaint with them. .

I'm so sick of everything feeling like it's falling apart.

kittykatsforever · 28/07/2014 20:48

Ahh hello again girls!
Why is that happening do you think??
I thought I'd have missed loads but you've been quiet!
Frus- not the axiss noooooo! I couldn't live without mine, did you end up loving it too?
Bring hugs. Sounds like they deserved it, they had been warned, when your stressed anything can set you off

Found you :-) WTH is going on with Mumsnet app?

Argh Frus how are you living without the Axis! I don't think I could live without mine now. Yay for the new car though!

We met with a professional photographer today as bpear is full on walking since July and we wanted to take some photos of the moment. I actually wanted some sitting photos originally but we missed that boat!

Bring. If it helps I would have done the same thing RE the dog. That sounds like a nightmare that needs to be fixed. At least you took a step towards fixing it no matter how frustrated you feel now. A step in the right direction :-)

peardrop2 · 29/07/2014 21:56

Lor ~ it's amazing how quick our LOs react to the heat isn't it. I have found that if bpear spends too long on the swings he starts looking v pale in this heat. It's something I've had to really watch. It's good that you were aware of your son too. I don't think everyone would have had that chat with the nursery like you did. Not everybody is sun savvy are they :-/ some of my friends don't seem very strict about keeping sun hats on. Perhaps I am naive and it gets harder as they get older. Some of you ladies would know better than me!

peardrop2 · 29/07/2014 22:03

And I would also like to add that I am crazy emotional at the moment. Still no AF :-( Not much luck with weaning but still struggling to emotionally stop the morning and night feed myself. Wish I could conceive and carry on bf...not ready to say goodbye!

peardrop2 · 29/07/2014 22:05

Frus ~ I am also having to double up on water as things are decreasing. I am guessing it is because they're demanding less and eating more solids?!

Frus! We need your input over on FB!

Ahh, bummer about the emotions pear! Hopefully AF will appear for you soon so the hormones will quiet down and you can start working on #2! Wink

Ha! Frus, M does the same thing. She just feeds a few x's per day now and the supply has gone way down. And yes, yes, yes to the personality. She is SO SPUNKY! She does this hilarious little head tilt that is so little GIRL its ridiculous. She RUNS away from me now. She loves to climb on the furniture and sit with the boys. She's not keen on words yet, but she is doing a lot of head shaking "yes" or "no".

bringonthetrumpets · 30/07/2014 02:14

PM'd you, Pear :)

peardrop2 · 30/07/2014 06:24

I see. Thanks bring.

I've weaned bpear off nap snacks as it wasn't helping either of us and I'm hoping it will help him settle quicker when it's time to drop the 7pm comfort feed. Good to hear that others have dropped milk supply too. I keep reading that if I want AF to return I need to drop the night feed. Tempted to do this to see if I can carry on with the morning. Once it's gone it's gone though :-(

kittykatsforever · 30/07/2014 20:44

It is hard to let go to pear, but I don't think much about it now. The added bonus for you is when you gave a new baby you get to start again Envy
We have quite a lot of words and singing lol it makes no sence but it's clearly the let it go tune, she's clearly heard it too many times lol
Pear, we don't have sun hats. Or shall I rephrase we have lots on sun hats but mine will not keep them on their heads for love nor money grrrr
Kitten is taking unaided steps now, around 6 but still doesn't like to do it, only if she's in the mood she prefers to cling to me at every opportunity and be carried while snuzzeling
Oh and phone app still not likening this thread

peardrop2 · 30/07/2014 22:05

Phone app is now working. Woohoo Grin

Frus ~ bpear only says mama and dada. He understand a lot though so I reckon he's just storing it all up. I'm not worried at all. He is walking very well now and soon it will be time for proper shoes gulp!!

Kitty ~ Thanks, I agree it is very hard to let go. Woke up this morning with hardly any milk but maybe that's because it was too early at 5am Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
