QQ - how often do you all clean the insides of your windows? I do mine every 6 weeks, the day before the window cleaner comes (his text to say he will be round reminds me to do them) he is due to come tomorrow but I can't be arsed to do them today. I know if I don't do them today. So basically I want to know if it is acceptable to leave them 12 weeks or if I should stop being lazy and do them today Grin

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2014 12:35

That should say, if I don't do them today I won't do them until the next time he comes.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/04/2014 12:41

About once a year fruit

Outside windows about three times a year if that

PurplePidjin · 28/04/2014 12:47

I don't think I ever have, fruit Blush the cat smears them up and I'm lazy Blush Tbf I live in a flat and hate heights so would be terrified leaning out to clean the back ones with the massive drop to the busy main road...

Envy of all these people with decent insurance policies and courtesy cars etc. Mine is still held together with an old shoelace and some parcel tape Hmm

I took R for a nice long walk into and around town, popped him down for his nap at 12 (he'd been rubbing his eyes on the way home so I knew he was tired despite last night's epicness) and he's just chatted himself to sleep quite happily. Who stole my non-sleeping grump monster? please please keep that one I like the new version more

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2014 12:50

I have never cleaned my windows. DH might have done.

I am a total slattern

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2014 12:53

Oooh really, that's just made my day, I hate doing them, i think I'll start doing them less often Grin before we had the window cleaner I don't recall having done them for about 3 years, but thought it was a bit pointless getting the outsides done if I didn't do the inside too.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/04/2014 12:55

The insides don't get as dirty though.

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2014 12:56

Yeah that's true, I might just regularly do the patio doors, they are always covered with S's mucky fingerprints, and do the rest as and when. if I can be bothered

Lily311 · 28/04/2014 12:59

When the season changes so 4times a year. Together with the outsides. I'm far too lazy to do them though, I pay a cleaner for the dirty job

YellowWellies · 28/04/2014 13:14

We've been here a year fruit and I'm yet to do it. Used to do it monthly in our old house with solid fuel heating as they got sooty / dusty from emptying the ash. Might ask the cleaners to do them next week but can't see it needs doing six weekly. Go and have a cuppa instead Smile

Wandathewindfairy · 28/04/2014 13:19

I just deal with finger smears as and when.

We have glass doors from the kithara into the front and back halls and they are constantly smeared but I see no point in doing them more than once a week!

Wandathewindfairy · 28/04/2014 13:20

Kitchen

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/04/2014 13:22

The window cleaner comes every 4 weeks to do outside. I used to do the insides of my old house probably once every 3 months. I've done the insides of my new house twice since we've been here but now they are all clean I'll probably do the patio ones every month or so and the rest of the house windows perhaps twice a year.

I'm basking in the silence whilst DD1 is at nursery and E naps. I should be doing chores but I find it so hard to get motivated on a monday and tuesday, Wednesday etc etc.

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2014 13:47

I clean my windows when I move house.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/04/2014 13:48

We don't have window cleaners over here except in office buildings.

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2014 14:30

Well I did indeed sit down and have a cuppa and a good old chinwag with my lovely auntie who popped in. S has been a delight this afternoon, she woke up in a fantastic mood and loved that my auntie went up to get her out of her cot. Might take her to the park in a bit been as it's not raining.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/04/2014 15:15

fruit I'm glad.

pr you don't have window cleaners. how bizarre. I spot an opportunity!

well I made dinner, hung some washing out and hoovered so not bad going. Off to pick up DD1 and then meet some friends at a local garden area. it has a small soft play area so the adults can sit and drink coffee and eat cake whilst the children let off steam.

Wandathewindfairy · 28/04/2014 15:30

I can't locate a window cleaner here either.

So we got a long stick thing that connects to the hose and does the upstairs windows.

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2014 16:11

You're good wanda I wouldn't go to all that effort Blush

Wandathewindfairy · 28/04/2014 16:17

Well, it had to be done as the builders left the windows in a right state when they rendered the house. I don't know how often it will get done, however it is handy to have a few outside jobs to do for when the boys are playing out so you are just not standing around like a lemon.

ditsygal · 28/04/2014 16:21

Hmmm Blush never cleaned the inside of my windows, just occasionally deal with finger marks. I was planning on doing them soon in preparation to sell the house though! Smile
I have a very dribbly toddler - he is like a new born again just pouring saliva and refusing to eat much at all - I am assuming that his final molars are making there way through and praying they won't take too long. (He is soaking through a bib ever half an hour or so!)

ChasingDaisy · 28/04/2014 17:16

I've never cleaned the inside of windows. Ever.

Wandathewindfairy · 28/04/2014 18:08

You haven't lived Hmm

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2014 18:56

Have you ever had bumsex while cleaning windows? I haven't. Yet Wink

PetiteRaleuse · 28/04/2014 19:01

No. I haven't. But.. I'll stop there.
