Hello Lily Smile I am not surprised you feel shattered. I hope you have a restful day planned x

Digger - great NN Grin

After reaching breaking point with bedtimes lately I just didn't put J to bed last night. I let him stay up late and fall asleep naturally so it was ten before I put him in his cot. No battles though so it was worth it. Unfortunately I was then up till nearly midnight getting the kitchen tidied up etc. Still DH is back from China today so I'll have some back up tonight.

Dairy-free discovery yesterday was that Tesco frozen garlic bread slices are dairy-free as they're made with margarine not butter. All my kids have loved garlic bread from an early age and these ones are so handy when they want a quick snack.

What? The Fall? Is it back on? Wowser. I loved that last year.

I did a bit of glossing yesterday in the downstairs loo. I had the window open but I got a really bad headache and nausea. I took some tablets and had an omlette but still couldn't shift it so I went to bed at 7:20. I did actually sleep until 6 ish this morning, but I still have the headache and a bit of nausea.

Am I poisoned?

Any tips to bet better?

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 07:25

Oh, just read the rest. What a disappointment! I thinks me and yw were jumping up and down with excitement only for it to be dashed!

GTbaby · 01/05/2014 08:08

(Lily)

My back is stuff again. Think it's that A gets into bed in middle of night so I sleep funny.
Is it awful that I'm counting down the hours until I tuck them up in bed at my mums?
I'm going to miss them like crazy. I spent extra long cuddling A before getting out of bed T minus 12 hours!

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 08:22

gt IME it will always loosen up in the day and stiffen up when you sleep at night. Lots of moving around in the day to loosen it up and slowly it should ease off. Xx

GTbaby · 01/05/2014 08:40

Yes I wanda I've experienced the same. However on Tuesday when it initially got bad I woke up with a slightly stiff back and it got progressively worse.

Anyway. How are you all doing?

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2014 08:49

gt I used to regularly get a bad back after E got in bed with me. Like wanda suggested keeping moving during the day helped it seizing up. Back pain is not nice.

I am counting down the hours minutes and seconds till 5pm on Friday. The in laws are coming to collect the girls and then I'm off to a golf/spa hotel in east sussex to celebrate DH and another friend of ours 40th. There are 25 of us going and the girls will be lazing around the spa (i have a full body massage and facial booked) and lunching whilst the boys golf. Then saturday night we are having dinner in a private dining room and me and my friend are decorating it with loads of balloons and have got a big cake make from sweets. The thing I'm looking forward to most though is having a cup of tea in bed and strolling down for the hotel breakfast. I'm just so bloody excited.

Sorry if my post is insensitive. I was going to mention it yesterday but decided not to for obvious reasons.

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 09:02

eliza that just sounds wonderful. I have some vouchers for the spa hotel down the road and when all my work rubbish is over I am going for a massive thing with hot stones and the full works. (I will have to add a bit to the vouchers but don't care!) in fact I might just book it for something to look forward to.

YellowWellies · 01/05/2014 09:11

Eliza wooooooo fill your boots lovely!!!!

Wanda yep I was all Grin Grin Grin then Envy . Its back in the autumn though!

Stunt if you give omeprazole with a food it has to be acidic - like a fruit purée or fruit jelly. BP I don't reckon custard would be acidic enough and that could maybe impair the drug's effectiveness?

Stunt Sainsbos value garlic baguettes are dairy free too. Nom.

Today, after painting the office last night until 10pm, then invoicing and doing paperwork til 11pm - we're having a quiet day. Cooking corned beef hash, washing, waiting in for a delivery. Exciting times chez Wellies.

Wotcha Digger!

PetiteRaleuse · 01/05/2014 09:11

Am going to sell my point and shoot camera on ebay. It's a nikon coolpix with 12 mega pixies. Before I do it does anyone want it?

PetiteRaleuse · 01/05/2014 09:12

eliza am not into spas really but a night in a decent hotel and strolling down to breakfast sounds fab.

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 09:25

Confused about nc. Too slow this morning.

In the middle of the night my left eye felt like there was glass in it. My contact lens has helped a bit in that it feels like it is protecting it from something it my goodness gracious it hurts. It is making my head so sore I can barely think.

And I herded buffalo off the road this morning. True fact.

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 09:32

Are you ok pass? Are you sure it was a buffalo?

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 09:34

Presumably yw J loves corn beef hash. Can you share a method it might be a good store cupboard basic for us on horrible rainy days like today.

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 09:38

Yep. There is a buffalo farm a few miles up the road from school. There was about 30 of the blighters.

I have taken my contacts off which hurt like a barsteward but it might help in the long run.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2014 09:52

pr 2 nights Wink

E's latest trick is to bring me a packet of hula hoops every morning. Must move them to a higher cupboard!

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2014 09:53

Pass the last thing you want in your eyes is contacts, even if they feel like they are helping. I am guessing you don't remember injuring it at all? Sounds nasty. Very impressed at the buffalo herding Grin

YellowWellies · 01/05/2014 10:01

Was that Puddledub Pass?

Wanda I just slowly saute a big onion with garlic, white pepper and thyme, add a tin or two of corned beef and a stock cube, 1-2 tins of beans, a dash of Worcester sauce / brown sauce to taste, more thyme if needed, then slowly simmer for half an hour. Meanwhile peel and cube 5-6 large tatties, boil for 15 minutes, then pour the beef mix into a pyrex dish add the tatties on top, sprinkle with olive oil and garlic granules, bake in a hot oven until the tatties are crispy. Top with poached eggs and for dairy folks add grated cheese. Nom!

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 10:04
Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 10:46

Contacts are out. Eye is extremely sore but nothing to explain why. Odd

I am cross. Too cross to work. Just sitting now in a fug of cross.

Can't detail and it is utterly daft anyway but that isn't stopping me from sitting here like this Angry

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2014 10:57

((((((Pass))))))

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2014 11:00

My MIL makes corned beef hash by boiling potatoes, onions, tinned tomatoes and a tin of corned beef for about 4 hours, then she leaves it to cool all day, most often overnight too, just sitting on the hob without a lid. Then she reheats it so it is Luke warm, and serves with beetroot. No seasoning, not even salt. You only ever eat it once, and it terrifies me!

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 11:03

here if needs be.
