vq yak. I used to like beetroot and corned beef sandwiches when I lived In Leicestershire. Is is an East Midlands thing? Obviously I prob would still like them just never have them, I have only ever seen them in our canteen In the office in Leicestershire

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 11:08

vq that sounds horrific!

My corned beef hash recipe is fry onions and garlic. Boil cubed potatoes. Add cubed corned beef and potatoes into the frying pan and turn pressing occasionally so you get crispy bits. Add loads of worstershire sauce. More frying and pressing down for crispy and serve!

I put it in orange juice YW then stirred it for ages but the outside gastro-resistant shell wouldn't dissolve easily even after stirring for ages. I did get most of the micro-encapsulated beads out so I think J got the full dose but I was a bit worried he would choke on the shell.

Missed a whole bloody thread again. Seems to be a tradition of mine... Post apologising for missing thread, promise to catch up, ask advice, get lovely replies then somehow manage to miss a whole week again.

Having a can't be arsed day, been absolutely shattered again all week. Had plans on going out walking and get lots done today, so far I've done feck all apart from sit on my arse while M watches Peppa and Ben & Holly.

Anyone got any lovely plans for bank holiday weekend?

And a QQ, does anyone have a which subscription?

GTbaby · 01/05/2014 12:57

BrewBrewBrewBrew Struggling to keep eyes open. BrewBrewBrew I don't even like coffee.
Hoping hoping A plays nicely on play mat when I take H to bed in 5min.
6more hours

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 13:24

Did you go to the gp about your tiredness fatima ?

I got the 30 day free trial while we were buying stuff for the house but then I ditched it.

FatimaLovesBread · 01/05/2014 13:35

No I didn't wanda I felt better towards the end of the week so didn't bother, thinks it's just work and M wearing me out. She's had a cold this week and has been waking for night feeds.
Really need to knock that on the head.

I had a 30 day free trial before which I cancelled so am unsure if I could do it again?

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2014 13:35

Stunt that sounds like regular capsules. If so just break them open and empty contents into glass then mix. Discard the outer shell.

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 13:44

The omeprazole we have looks like a normal pill - all solid. We snap in half then mix with 10ml water. I find that sucking in and out of the syringe breaks down the last bits and pieces. We still give in her morning milk as she shows no sign of dropping it.

Glad you feel a bit better fatima

I am no longer as cross as before. Thank you for hugs and coffee and cake.

ChasingDaisy · 01/05/2014 14:27

(((Pass))) Also impressed with buffalo herding Grin

You have my sympathies GT - back pain is horrid. I take painkillers daily. Speaking of which, and of spa days, I shall be indulging myself in a massage within the next couple of weeks that the lovely Lily bought me for my birthday Smile

Zamboni · 01/05/2014 14:34

Pass I am cross too, today. I'm very angry a lot of the time at the mo. Have specific reasons for today's rage which I will eventually get over. Am otherwise hormonal and I hope that passes soon and makes a difference.

Wandathewindfairy · 01/05/2014 15:41

Brew and Cake for zamboni sorry you are cross. You know where to share if you need too. Xx

StuntNun · 01/05/2014 17:03

Fatima I have a Which? subscription. What are you looking for?

The Omeprazole is Losec MUPS if I remember rightly. I'll give it another go at dinner time. I'm taking him back to the GP tomorrow but I'm so confused about what's going on that I don't know what to tell her. He's definitely egg intolerant and dairy intolerant but I have no clue whether I should cut soya too. Also I had thought his reflux was secondary to the egg intolerance and had resolved; how can I tell whether he has reflux? One GP did say J's throat was red at the back and he certainly has issues in his cot at night.

DH is back from China so I have a chicken roasting in the oven for later. A rare treat for a weekday.

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 01/05/2014 17:19

Stunt I find J can have a range of symptoms when refluxing - its much more subtle now than when he was wee - mostly its just barely noticeable sour breath, next up is a reluctance to eat 'sharp' or crunchy food like crisps and toast, an irritating cough if quite bad, excess snot can be another, a rattle when he breathes, acting unputdownable / really clingy and cranky means its pretty bad and repeated night waking in the early hours is the most severe. I rarely hear him reflux anymore as it doesn't choke them like when they were wee but it does make their throats very sore. As for soy between 40-50% of CMPI babies react to soy so if something is still troubling him it could be that? Soy tends to make J sleepless rather than cranky if he has too much. But they all react differently.

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2014 17:48

Stunt the MUPS doesn't leave a shell. What does it say on the packet? I would cut soya. See what happens. Worth a try.

FatimaLovesBread · 01/05/2014 18:35

oooh thanks stunt I was just wondering what the say about the next stage car seats especially the ERF ones. I still haven't made a decision and want to buy one this weekend

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2014 19:31

My eye huuuuuuuuuurts! It is now photosensitive. DH got me some drops which are for mild infection. I will struggle to drive tomorrow if it isn't better.

Are you still cross zamboni?

I can probably summarise that a lovely a caring colleague insinuated that I didn't care about the children as much. Lovely colleague if you are reading this - you know I love you but I almost poked your eyes out today. But then I think this was obvious Grin

Fine now. Am over it.

Pizza and chips for tea! Woot. P has started to freak out in the bath if I say the word poo. This is unfortunate as I use bathtime for some word practice. Today I said to DH "whatever you do, don't say the P O O word. Well she freaked out again. Bizarre

BigPigLittlePig · 01/05/2014 20:44

Pass I would get to eye casualty or and e in the next day or so - it needs a proper look at to make sure there isn't something more to it. I am always wary of painful eyes in contact lens wearers.

Sorry for ragey days Thanks

GT I am with you in the nervy stakes, as am going away with friends tomorrow for 3 nights. Haven't been away from dh for that long since we met. And don't get me started on leaving F Sad

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2014 21:56

Gosh bplp Is that since you've been together or lived together? How long have you been together? I love my DH very much but my god I do like time apart too. Although I guess perhaps 5 nights is the longest we've been apart since we've lived together which doesn't sound long to me. I hope you have a lovely time whatever you're doing.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2014 21:58

pass since E had a couple of baths in a row that she did a poo in, she now gets upset if I mention poo when she's in the bath. Perhaps she's getting upset about the idea of her doing a poo in the bath?

MsJupiter · 01/05/2014 22:17

Pass I went to the GP on Monday as I've had a sticky eye, I was really surprised that they sent me off to the eye clinic at the hospital but apparently they take contact wearers seriously. I have eye drops & have to go back in a week. Hope you get yours sorted.

BigPigLittlePig · 01/05/2014 22:43

Since we've been together Eliza Blush I love time to myself but miss my wee family (vommy cats and bald dogs included) after more than 2 days. It will be lovely to see some of my oldest friends, indeed we are glamping and have a hot tub, but I will be keen for cuddles on my return Smile

Pass I hope you feel suitably nagged??! Weird about p-o-o. She'll probably be over it this time next week.

Off to bed, night all xx

GTbaby · 02/05/2014 06:34

Where you going BP. Sitting in T5 departures. Right by mulberry. So tempting.
I think H asked to have his nappy change. He did his "I want something" whine, walked to door and kept pointing.

GTbaby · 02/05/2014 06:40

Standing in Q for Starbucks. Feeling very torn. Cheese toastie vs morals?

ValiumQueen · 02/05/2014 07:13

I agree Pass, it needs looking at today, even if you need to leave work. I had an ulcerated cornea in my youth from contacts. Yours sounds quite worrying, so please do not delay xxx
