Hello Martian ladies, I hope you are all well.

I'm impressed some of you are already giving thought to doing the deed! My stitches are still healing and rather glamoursly I have now developed piles which is not doing my stitches any favours, so I think it will be a long time before I let OH near me!

My internet has been down again so this is the 1st time I've been able to get my mumsnet fix.

FrankelandFilly · 24/04/2014 07:01

I'm just over 6 weeks in and not quite ready for sex yet. I won't be going back on the Pill as I think it contributed to our issues conceiving DD by masking my PCOS symptoms. DH is off to Afghanistan for 6 months at the end of May, so we'll have a natural contraceptive in the form of a few thousand miles! We want more children so I suspect we'll be looking at trying again, baring in mind it took us 3 years to conceive DD, after she has turned 1, which is only a few months after he gets home again.

Weight wise I've no idea what I weigh. I last weighed myself at my 12wk scan so have no clue how much weight I put on! I've got back in my pre-pregnancy jeans in the last week though but I think that's down to the fact I was 90% bump and didn't put much weight on elsewhere. My belly's still very soft so I'll be starting on the sit ups once the GP gives me the all clear!

Mummytobe2014 · 24/04/2014 12:35

I think I am going to have the injection every three months, I had one injection before and didn't get a period for 1 year so think this will suit me better than the pill which contributed to my weight gain!
I have been wanting to DTD for a while now but am waiting for 6 week check up and injection.
Weight wise, I lost weight in the first two weeks as my appetite was non existent but things have slowed since. Em I have that wobbly bit too and its really depressing, how do we get rid of it!?

EmFlat · 24/04/2014 18:15

Hm, Mummy, I hadn't thought about the injection. Might have to ask GP about it!

No idea re the tummy... shows how much I care about doing anything about it right now Wink Wink Will Google and report back! I've even been rubbish / forgetting todo my pelvic floor exercises! Oh dear, the midwives would tell me off Grin

Ps 'hi' Puggy! Glad you're back online Smile

puggywug81 · 24/04/2014 23:42

HI Em, I used to be on the injection, it was fab, no periods whatsoever!

puggywug81 · 25/04/2014 04:40

So tired and peed off, had a bad day with Fin, he had terrible trapped wind all day, skin have had no sleep. OH offered to take 2 night feeds to give me a break but after 1 feed he is snoring so loud he could wake the dead,i now can't sleep because of his racket and know I will end up taking the next feed. I know he is tired too but I'm so tired and angry I want to rip his balls off!

EmFlat · 25/04/2014 13:12

Oh Puggy Hmm I'd've given him an elbow to the ribs to remind him he was supposed to be helping! DH was snoring for quite a while last night too, and what with listening to DS snuffling away in his basket, it made for a fun hour Wink yeeshk.

Bloody men.

puggywug81 · 25/04/2014 13:18

Hehehe can't live with them, can't live without them eh Em!

I think I wad being a bit mean, he had been at work and he does have a cold, I was just so tired I had no sympathy. Overall he has been fab!

commsgirl · 25/04/2014 13:44

It's so hard to be rational and not angry in the middle of the night though! I came back up to bed at 3am to DP's arm straight across my pillow grr.

It's DP's birthday today and after going out for breakfast we're spending it napping in shifts so we can both enjoy his meal out tonight. My parents are looking after C for us until I get home but DP will be staying out I think. I'll have to try and remember to be sympathetic to his hangover in the morning!

EmFlat · 25/04/2014 14:53

It's DH's birthday today too! He's reached the grand old age of 30 Wink His mum is looking after B tonight so we can go out... and also (hopefully) not have to get up for night feeds crosses fingers again Guess it depends how long the crying goes on for, we may give in and get up to help Wink

Hope you have a lovely time out, Comms, and just bung DP some Alka Seltzer in the morning Wink tee hee.

Bless you for being so reasonable, Puggy xxx.

commsgirl · 25/04/2014 15:54

DP is 30 too! Hope you have a lovely night Em and enjoy your sleep :)

LeeHandy · 25/04/2014 16:28

emflat thanks for the tips! I think I will also enquire about the injection!

yesterday, we got babylee's tongue tie done and also discovered that both of us had undiagnosed thrush which explains the constant pain I have been having.

dh's snoring at 3 am annoys me to the point of violence even though he is always ready to wake and help if I nudge him.

puggywug81 · 25/04/2014 23:11

Hope u both had lovely nights out Comms and Em.

Lee I feel your pain, no matter how great OH is the rest of the time the minute he snores I lose it!

Not having a good night, think I have eaten something dodgy, currently confined to the bathroom with explosive diarrhea tmi I know but I had to share!

Mummytobe2014 · 26/04/2014 10:21

Hope you had a nice evening off ladies for your oh birthdays!

Ah Puggy that's awful, hope your feeling better this morning!

My LO is getting much better at night but I still wake twice to feed and both times I look at DP and want to punch him lol, especially on a sat morning when I secretly hope he will offer to take him for me!

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

Imeg · 26/04/2014 19:40

In my experience there's no point 'secretly hoping' or hinting that you want men to do things: they need it spelling out in words of one syllable!

Vikkijayne2507 · 26/04/2014 19:48

aww rubbish puggy I had that straight after labour for a week it's rubbish get better soon

FrankelandFilly · 26/04/2014 20:19

Lee we had DD's tongue tie snipped on Wednesday. How are you getting on with the latch? We've been told it could take a week or more before we see an improvement as hers was a thick posterior tie.

puggywug81 · 27/04/2014 14:43

Aww Vicki a whole week that sucks, one night of it was enough!

Hope everything is going well for everyone dealing with tongue ties.

LeeHandy · 27/04/2014 23:14

Vikki a week sounds dreadful! glad you are better puggy!
I have started waking dh up for the burping a few times at night. it makes him feel like he's part of it and I am always sympathetic when he complains the next day of "being so tired my eyes are burning". Grin
frankel, I immediately felt a difference in the latch, it seems much more relaxed and loose, iyswim. we started the massage yesterday and I cried buckets along with ds the first time. but it's making a huge difference to the range of motion. ds' tongue was severe anterior. how are you doing with the latch and massage?

FrankelandFilly · 28/04/2014 12:07

The latch seems to have improved in the last day or so, but we've been told not to massage the wound. We were told to encourage DD to suck on a finger and slowly draw it out so that she tries to suck it back in.

Anyone else has weight gain issues? DD has just been weighed and has lost 4oz since her last weigh in 10 days ago.

LeeHandy · 28/04/2014 21:19

frankel, you were told not to massage? can I ask where you did the procedure? the massage is so hard for me to do! if the professionals cannot all agree that it's required I dont see why I should torture both ds and me twice a day!! I am so annoyed that the people at kings pretty much said that if we dont do the massage the tongue tie will recur! Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy
also I wouldn't worry about a bit of weight loss for 1 week. does your hv know?

LeeHandy · 28/04/2014 21:20

oh.. it just occurred to me that yours was a posterior tongue tie so maybe our situations are different. Sad

FrankelandFilly · 28/04/2014 21:26

We had it done privately as our GP refused to refer DD to the hospital to have it done on the NHS because "it's not that bad" Hmm

The lady that did ours did say that some people advocate massage but that she thought it only caused aggravation. She just said to do the exercise above plus when interacting with DD to poke our tongues out to get her to copy. She did say that if done properly only about 10% of TTs will reattach regardless of massage/exercises.

HV did the weigh-in and put the fear of god up me about it. She phoned back later to say actually it was only a small loss and because I've had mastitis and DDs had her TT snipped recently it's all explainable. They're going to re-weigh her in 2 weeks.

LeeHandy · 28/04/2014 23:11

Ohh, I want to stop doing the massage now. it is so distressing for both of us and I do feel like ds is going to hate me. Sad
he has also started crying more when I am feeding him and I think it may be because of the pain.
I am going to discuss this with dh. thank you for that frankel!

LeeHandy · 28/04/2014 23:15

looks like your hv had a change of heart about putting the fear of God into you! I was told by my hv that babies can have up and down weeks until they are a few months and that is one of the main reasons why we shouldn't weigh them every week after they are 3-4 weeks old.
