pass I've just been told that I should stagger paracetamol and ibuprofen for N and his infection.
N has got amoxicillin, and he is ill. He's not Long had a rigour, he's just fallen asleep on the mat in the front room. Sad

No nursery for N for 48 hours, which means no work For me tomorrow.

So how do I tell ex?
n is unwell and unable to come tomorrow.
Anything else to add??

Lily311 · 27/01/2014 11:52

evil I'm so sorry that n is sick and that you have to deal with ex. He should understand that children get sick.

I just received an email from lawyer. Hungarian state will cover the cost of the case including lawyer fee as they shouldn't have caused me as much trouble and should have been able to register O without a court case. I think I accept the apology, I'm beaming Grin.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/01/2014 12:01

evil I would just text him to say N is ill, has an infection and antibiotics for it so will be staying home. (I know he's a bit of a hypochondriac so saying straightaway that he has treatment will avoid the take him to the doctor conversation).

Lily that is brilliant news, I am so pleased for you.

Had to pop into the paed's office to get another prescription for LO's amoxycillin since my shaking the open bottle mishap. She royally took the piss. Went to pharmacy and explained why I was back so soon for more and she said that that regularly happens to them when they are requested to make up meds for customers; she said she had mixed up a med once and was shaking it as she walked back to the front of the shop, let go of the bottle, which smashed on the ceiling and doused her customers and a good amount of stock. :o I would have loved to have seen that.

Evilwater · 27/01/2014 12:06

Thanks pr bless him he's just asleep on the floor.

MsJJones · 27/01/2014 13:00

Lily that is brilliant and well deserved after what you have been put through.

PR sounds like a good plan re the e-cigs. I used to smoke a small amount too and it can be hard to break the habit even if you're not physically addicted.

L woke at 5am screaming, later than he has been recently (usually around midnight or 2am) but I was in such a deep sleep it was like a bucket of water. He did sleep a bit more from about 6am though. I think it must be dreams waking him as nothing else seems to be wrong.

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/01/2014 13:04

pr that makes sense re the patches. When I tried to use them they made me feel dizzy and sick. I had to just go cold turkey in the end. Good luck.

lily that is bloody fantastic news. so pleased for you.

evil poor n, hope he perks up soon.

Sophiathestormfairy · 27/01/2014 18:25

Busy day here.

Really busy.

stunt yes that would be nice! currently I have Wed afternoon free, if that works for you. Pm me. Xx

So car is now finally registered in NI and work has finally begun on our dry stone walls, they were supposed to come In
September and kept saying we will be there in two weeks and never turned up so about three weeks ago so I threw my toys out of pram and got someone else. Thankfully they turned up today. The boys have just been staring our of the window all afternoon watching the digger.

I am tired but have to muster some energy from somewhere for aerobics. I put 5lbs on at chrimbo, lost 3, then put them back When dad came over and it was DH s birthday. So I really need to focus.

pr your whole smattering of abs has amused me. Sorry. Grin

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better.

ValiumQueen · 27/01/2014 18:25

Great news Lily. That has made my day Smile

Flouncy keep an eye on your lump and if you are still worried go back x

High temps are scary. J feels like an ice block now he has a normal temp after his 40.2 days.

Sophiathestormfairy · 27/01/2014 18:25

Can't go to circuity aerobics not got the right socks.

ValiumQueen · 27/01/2014 18:52

Sounds fair Sophia.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/01/2014 19:11

Evening all.

Lily that's fab news, you must be so pleased. At least they recognised they were proper nobs over the whole affair.

Pr I anm glad your chest was not the b word.

Evil I hope N is feeling better soon xx

Fs temp has been up all day, despite calpol and now ibuprofen. 4oz of milk, 1 banana and an after 8 have been eaten, lots of water. Her wee stinks, not sure if it's infected. Can foresee a trip to the docs tomorrow.

Had the referral letter today for paeds appt - such an inaccurate referral that has me sounding like a neurotic idiot. Made me quite cross. Even basic facts were totally wrong. Rant over now!

ValiumQueen · 27/01/2014 19:33

Ah yes, I am glad too PR.

BP I think GPs think all mums are neurotic. Very annoying.

Evilwater · 27/01/2014 19:34

Well N has had a temp on a nd off most of the day. The doc has given antibiotics. We've both had plently of rest and sat and watched the tv. There is something about mr tumble I don't like.

Today I've rung loads of people, today. Did I tell you guys about the housing benifit? Well because I didn't tell them straight away that my other benfits had changed. I have to pay back £71. FFS Angry the worst bit is I had to phone up cause on one page they said they would take the money out gradually, and on the back "please make us you can pay in one amount"

I also phoned work, and I'm sure I'm allowed some special type of leave cause N is sick?

StuntNun · 27/01/2014 19:57

Pass your out of hours GP was talking bollocks, paracetamol is metabolised in the liver so there's no way it could do anything to your kidneys. Mild overdoses of paracetamol cause hepatotoxicity i.e. damage the liver. Since paracetamol and ibuprofen are metabolised by different pathways there is no theoretical way they can interact with each other. A clinical trial to examine the interaction between the two also found no evidence of a drug interaction. Taking both together does put a strain on the liver so it shouldn't be done for an extended period but for chronic pain I think it's definitely preferable to using more serious painkillers such as codeine.

Passmethecrisps · 27/01/2014 20:51

stunt the man was such a fucking who I have never, ever been so close to making a proper complaint. When I questioned the advice he was giving me he said "well, do am head of department and have a paediatric specialism so I think I should know". Utter, utter twat.

Passmethecrisps · 27/01/2014 21:01

Grr. I am still raging about it and it was in October! 2 NHS 24 nurses and one OOH GP told me to expect p to be admitted to hospital if her temp didn't come down and she wasn't acting better. This bawbag shrugged his shoulders at me then accused me of poisoning her before handing me a prescription for AB and saying "she doesn't need these and they will almost certainly make her worse but ah well"

Fucking arse hole

Passmethecrisps · 27/01/2014 21:09

In other, not medically related news. . .

Tonight I made chicken curry from leftover roast chicken and samosas from the leftover roasted vegetables from yesterday's lunch. Do I get the home-economist prize?

PurplePidjin · 27/01/2014 21:13

Brew all round. Been up to Oxford today, 3 hours driving including picking up mil en route. And no, i didn't get to see the person i was hoping to but mil did and R had a lovely visit with his big cousins. Very very very tired Brew

Passmethecrisps · 27/01/2014 21:17

More Brew

And lily reading that earlier made me grin like an idiot. You so deserve some good fortune.

Kyz · 27/01/2014 21:21

Evening all!

E's feet haven't grown which is a surprise! He's definitely taller though and still eating three times as much as he has recently so I'm guessing his feet will be bigger soon, although at a 6 I'm not sure he needs them to grow again anytime soon!

Rat definitely needs his foot off, can't remember if I said, but now may lose his tail too :'( Poor little sod. I've paid £100 off the bill, so £260 so far with £90 remaining and that's before surgery. I can't afford this. Well I can, but I can't, IYSWIM.

Anyway, this will probably be not a full epic kyz but here goes...

Happy burns for saturday, oops!

Eek at yoghurt pr I can imagine your face was a picture, bless you!

I think I need to go charity shopping for some books, E loves his cardboard/touchy feely ones but reads them to death and he's i'm sick of the same ones

Bless him evil sounds like he is a poorly boy indeed, hope he gets better soon

yw 'dat dat' sounds very cute. I get 'dere' and points. If I ask him where something is nowadays indead of getting it the lazy boy goes 'dere' and points!

vq sounds like a very odd dream, that one!

I wan't to watch the following but we have virgin and it doesn't have sky atlantic :( boo!

I thought white house down looked good, not sure i'll bother with it now!

I've not tried a duvet or pillow even yet. I don't know whether to or when or whatever else. I'll make a mental note to buy one and see what happens

det your saturday sounds like one of our bad days, i also go by the 'tomorrow is another day' thing!

please J is much better vq

hope lo is better soon pr

yay to first steps thechick :)

fatima you sound knackered :( bless you, fc for some decent sleep soon! I also don't like the idea of a hangover and an E, I would probably die!

Hope it works out using the e-cigs pr and i'm glad it's not bronchitis again

evil your ex should understand that N is ill, it's nobodys fault, I'd just tell him

sorry all i've really skimmed the last bits, have to go now but I have read everything, hope everyone has a good night!

Evilwater · 27/01/2014 21:24

kyz thanks.

It looks like N will be sleeping in my bed.
Evil

FatimaLovesBread · 27/01/2014 21:32

Arghh stressed out this evening, I need to grow a fucking backbone and learn to say 'no MIL, that's not ok'.

But at least DD is asleep! For now.

On a lighter note, why do I seem to be able to suck half a bath of water up my fanjo which then trickles out while I'm walking round in my pjs? Have I got a bucket fanny? Grin

StormyIsles · 27/01/2014 21:44

Hoorah lily - wonderful news!

Bugger kyz poor rat. Poor you re vet bill! The things we do for our pets Aulay is one more packet of crisps away from fucking dogs trust. The fucker has mastered opening the crisp drawer Angry

Fab news re first steps chick

Grin at bucket fanjo I think I must have one too

Pass Angry on your behalf. But yes, you win the award. Nom nom nom.

Eyelid defs infected. Either a bit of grit or speck of make up. Have stingy antibiotic drops and a thick gel thing that basically blinds me in one eye. Looks horrific.

P really not getting the hint of how fucking angry I am at his total lack of effort. Tonight's cracker: "I don't know how to love you" Why is it so hard to walk away even when he is being an utter twat? I think I need the quiche fish and a firm kick up the arse to make a clean break.

I am also getting panicky about not getting the house. Sad

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/01/2014 22:05

fatima I have discovered my pelvic floor no longer exists. I have a stinking cold and I feel like I'm pissing myself every time i cough. It really isn't pleasant.

I hate being ill and having to deal with kids. I don't get ill very often thank goodness but when I do it hits me hard. And DD1 is using these couple of days to go through her monster phase. I swear they sense weakness.

Have had a quiet day but busy one tomorrow so hoping for a good night sleep. I should go to bed now but I'll probably faff around and end up in bed late like I normally do. I seem to be incapable of going to bed early.

GTbaby · 28/01/2014 00:27

Lily what brilliant news. So happy it's all starting to fall into place. Hopefully the ni number issues will resolve ASAP as well

Wishing poorly babies speedy recovery.

Feeding break through, after seeing your feeding vids on FB I thought I'd give H a fork. I loaded he ate. He seemed quite excited. He also ate some cucumber today. Think he finally gets it. Although I think with A ill be taking a more hands off approach from the start!

H says Baar, meaning out in punjabi. He had a total strop today cos he wanted to go out. Kept repeating Baar.
Also first time ever, FH walked up to him to put him to bed, H has a tantrum, tried to crawl away, then was flinging his body around to avoid being picked up. Was hilarious. Signs of the tantrums to come!

Today during my walk today. I dreamed of winning the lottery. And arranging a quiche weekend away. At like a centre park maybe. Suggestions. Lol. It was a nice day dream.
