Hello ladies,

Thought I would start you off. We can just keep this a stats thread until we all deliver and then move across if you like.

Oh book that sounds heartbreaking Sad hopefully she will improve after the tt being snipped and it's just the initial shock of it all!

DP forgot to contact the bednest people Hmm what a douche bag!!!

I've just had my first ever driving lesson tonight. It was scary. I can't believe I drove an actual car! I feel so grown up (never mind the fact I have a baby and a house to run...)

fryingpantoface · 11/03/2014 07:52

We had an awful night. I was up every hour for 15-20 mins with Henry from 11 until 4.15 when i woke dh and had him take over. He went downstairs with Henry for a bit, then ds1 woke up at 4.45. Then started an hour of yo-yoing between his room and ours. In the end we left him to cry for a bit and he went back to bed until 6.30. So dh got up with him while i slept with a fussy Henry.

I'm so tired I'm feeling dizzy.

sorry for the me me me post!

Felix - congrats on feeling like an adult, i know exactly what you mean!

Book - sounds rubbish, poor baby!

TobyLerone · 11/03/2014 08:39

Ugh, sounds horrid, frying. Hope you have a better day.

Felix, I have held a full driving licence for 15 years, had a mortgage since I was 18, have been married twice, have 3 children and am 36. The thing which makes me feel the most like a proper grown-up is going to the dentist every 6 months, of my own accord, without my mum making me Blush
Well done on the driving lesson! Hope learning is quick and painless for you.

How was your night, book?

MrsVDB · 11/03/2014 09:41

book hope she's feeling a bit better this morning. It must have been very sad to watch but you know it was for the best

frying hope you manage to have a nap today. My Henry also had a bad night and has been up at least every hour since 3 which I'm not used to and I fell asleep with him right on the edge of the bed for an hour oops

BookTart · 11/03/2014 09:54

frying I hope you can grab some sleep somehow today, that sounds awful. You too mrsv.

I can still remember how exciting my first driving lesson was felix - go you!

I have a much happier baby today, although she did sleep on my chest all night which means that I didn't sleep much. Hopefully her wind will improve now and I might even be able to lay her flat one day. I'm giving things a week to see if the TT snip changes anything, and if not then I can try the Gaviscon.

Today I think we'll mostly stay indoors after yesterday's excitement. I might even get dressed eventually

fryingpantoface · 11/03/2014 09:59

I've done a load of washing which is now drying on the washing line. It's sunny, slightly windy, and about 14 degrees so they should dry. I'm trying to keep busy until i can out ds1 down for a nap. So I'm going to wash the windows soon... What can I say? I'm the last of the good time girls!

what else is everyone up to today?

MrsVDB · 11/03/2014 10:18

I'm off to southbank got lunch with my cousin then have a coffee with a friend. Hoping the trains and buses are as good as they were last week :)

Felix90 · 11/03/2014 10:34

Frying hope you can squeeze a nap in today!

Book glad she had a better night. Hopefully she's feeling better today.

MrsV that sounds lovely. Enjoy Grin

I'm doing nothing today as usual. Asked DP to take the pram out if the car boot and leave it for me so I could take Sylvie for a walk but he was in a rush this morning and forgot Hmm got loads of housework to do anyway. My life is so fecking boring!! My shopping is being delivered later which is the highlight of my day. It's all low carb stuff too so not even anything exciting haha Grin

TobyLerone · 11/03/2014 11:00

We were going to go to baby group this morning but Meredith slept until 10 minutes ago and it started at 10.

So now we're probably going to stay in for a lack of anything better to do.

Jealous of your washing out, frying! It's grey and grim here.

Just had a text from DH saying he's going to San Francisco for a week in May. So that'll be fun Hmm

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 11/03/2014 11:07

frying and MrsV hope you get some naps today, or at least nice quiet days to make up for bad nights.
We had a bad night too, for us, but nothing as bad as you're describing; usually she only wakes once, but it was three times between 1 and 7, for a good 45 mins each time. Gah.

toby you are a proper grown up. I still don't go to the dentist on my own, I make DH come with me to hold the snotty tissues when I cry for fear he will suck his teeth like a car mechanic and tell me they all have to come out even at age 33. Blush

felix whoop for the lesson! I love love LOVE having a car and being allowed to just take it out for a drive. I feel all excited every time (newbie, passed test a year ago yesterday). When you can take your baby out in it you will realise how cool it is, and forget the cost of lessons bit like how you forget how fecking much labour hurts, that was fast, eh? and possibly squeal to yourself in joy... Or maybe that's just me... Blush

book I so hope this is the turning point for you, you poor love. Have a good day.

Naturegirl82 · 11/03/2014 13:06

book hope the tt snip makes things better.

Boo for bad nights sleep. Olivia is settled again with hers after a few unsettled nights.

Made it to booby club today which was nice. Although I burnt my thumb quite badly on my hair straighteners in a rush to get out. Sad

Hoping Olivia wakes for a feed soon as I need to go to the bank. It's a lovely day here as well. Took the pooch out for a walk earlier and it was beautiful, with all the crocus flowers Smile

Those that are breastfeeding do you snack over night? Hv was saying you should do but I don't and don't feel the need to.

Felix90 · 11/03/2014 13:26

Nature your walk sounds lovely. It's really sunny here but still very cold.

Sylvie has suddenly discovered her hands!!! She keeps shoving them in her mouth and having a good suck. It's super cute Smile

BandontheFun · 11/03/2014 13:28

Hi hope everyone is well.

Well.....I finally made it out on my own, only took me 7 weeks. Weather is lovely today was silly to stay indoors. Hopefully the Sun sticks about in Glasgow for a while. It's nice to get her out. I had sweat on by the time I got back home. Need to start dressing for spring!

Haven't went to any groups yet, cos I can't drive and there doesn't seem to be much going on about here or in the city centre.

H is way more content being left on her playmat now, so getting a bit more done. She slept for ages yesterday, kept poking her to make sure she is ok.

Book hope the tt helps things.

Was out for a colleagues retirement party on Friday, and someone I haven't seen in ages rubbed my tummy and asked me how the baby was and when I was due...I know my tummy isn't exactly flat but didn't think I still looked proper pregnant. I could have cried!! Sad

Swannykazoo · 11/03/2014 13:32

I keep forgetting we're on the postnatal thread doh!
Hurray for sunshine even if the wind is icy up here. Hugh had two minor miracles last night -1) Fell asleep in bouncer chair for 5 mins entirely solo, 2)Stayed asleep when put into bednest for 4 hours! (Prev pb about 5mins) Am very excited we may be making progress from last week's horror week of screaming. Am working hard on daytime naps - only happen on the move or in the sling but they are happening... I tell myself I'm an executive with a treadmill desk....
Hope the other pesky babies are enjoying the sunshine & sleeping better

Angelesque · 11/03/2014 13:35

Nature am EBF and until about a week ago I was wolfing chocolate hob nobs during the night feeds - was waking with aching hollow hunger pains, weird! It's been better recently.

Am feeling pretty hungry right now as tiny bastard darling has been feeding since 7.15am. Yep, he's been sucking almost non-stop for about six hours. I don't know if this signals a growth spurt, or he's thirstier in the heat, but those bottles of formula are looking pretty sweet right now. Think I'm going to start combi feeding this week...

Angelesque · 11/03/2014 13:37

PS Band boo for twatty work colleague - for both ignorant comment and feeling it was okay to just grope your midriff! Idiot.

flyawayblue · 11/03/2014 16:39

book glad she is feeling better today, hope the snip helps things. Sadly no not in Kent, we were buying in Eynsford but it fell through 2 days before our exchange date last autumn. We also have family near Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells.

After horrible nights over weekend (awake & feeding every hour) which ended in me having a go at poor Alice when she grumbled in the night she went 6 hours between feeds last night (11pm - 5am), woke for a change at 1:30am but lovely dh got up with her. I've also got her to sleep in her carrycot twice today from half asleep.. can't quite believe it! I've bought a snoozeshade so I don't need to use dh's jumpers and they feel a bit safer.

frying & mrsv hope you got a bit of sleep today and mrsv southbank sounds lovely, especially in today's weather.

band can't believe how rude people are.

I bit of all your doing stuff rubbed off on me today, I've tided the living room while Alice sleeps, done some washing and ate a hot lunch. Need to fry some tofu for dinner later, will then eat when dh gets home at 7 (out 6:45am to 7:15pm).

Can you tell Alice is asleep not on me and I have actually managed to turn on a pc, I'm sure tomorrow will be horrible but amazed that she's had three actual daytime sleeps today.

fryingpantoface · 11/03/2014 17:45

Congrats fly on her sleeping :)

i didn't get the windows done, or a nap, when ds1 napped, Henry woke. I did manage all the laundry, including bedding, and dried it all on the line. Aside from the towels, they went in the drier. I like soft towels.

I'm in work tomorrow for a KIT day, 8-2. Am feeling mixed towards it now

Pidgy · 11/03/2014 18:34

Good job on all the improvements and better sleeping. Lara hadn't had any meltdowns today so feeling quite positive.

I had a friend round today which was lovely. She has a 12 week old so we swapped stories etc.
I even made a lemon loaf but unfortunately used the tablespoon measurement instead of the teaspoon one for baking powder. Managed to scoop some out but it wasn't as good as usual. That's what you get for rushing I suppose. I think I overcooked it too. Oh well.

Just realised I've had my driving licence 15 years now. Doesn't seen that long. Where is my life going!!
Since having babies it's gone by in a flash.

TarkaTheOtter · 11/03/2014 20:00

Haven't posted much recently as having a bit of a shit time. Everyone other than me had flu and now dd has hand, foot and mouth. Alex doesn't sleep longer than a couple of hours even if we cosleep. Often it's less than 1hr. Dd has been waking in the night too and starting the day before 6am. And dh is still working abroad mon-thurs every week.

I feel like I'm being really horrible to dd. Being ill is making her a nightmare. A few times I've had to walk away as I'm getting so cross with her. She's only just two, it makes me so sad when I shout at her. But she's so frustrating. Tonight it took 20mins to get her nappy changed because she kept fidgeting and running off and kicking and in that time Alex cried himself to sleep Sad

MrsGSR · 11/03/2014 20:05

band how rude of your colleague!

:( to rubbish nights sleep, hope people have managed to nap a bit.

Leah slept better, 50 minutes, 2.5 hours then 2 lots of an hour. Tried to make her nap again today so hoping tonight won't be too bad. DH took her for 2 hours this evening so I could rest, he's out for the rest of the evening so I'm in bed feeding, hoping we'll both get an early night!

Going to a play group tomorrow, terrified!

MrsGSR · 11/03/2014 20:08

:( tarka that sounds really tough. DH is going at for 2 weeks this Friday and I'm so nervous of how I'll cope that I'm going to stay with family! In awe of you doing it every week. I hope things get better soon.

TarkaTheOtter · 11/03/2014 20:46

Don't be in awe mrsg this is only the second week I've done it all by myself without any family help and I've spent quite a lot of it sobbing. DH offered to come home tonight but he can't do it every week and what if next week it's worse?

Bikey86 · 11/03/2014 21:41

Thank you for advice about mixed feeding. I'm still! Thinking about it and trying to decide if its right for us.

Hugs to those of you that are sleep deprived. I have has one of the worst evenings ever with my henry today, he's been awake since half three this afternoon and managed to put him down at 9pm. He would usually nap at some point during this time.. I think he was overstimulated as we have been out shopping all day so he was impossible, crying, cluster feeding, comfort suckling, headbutting me. Very frustrating. Text my DM and she came round to try and settle him but she could not even win the battle.

At night he wakes every two hours to feed but im quite lucky as most of the time once he has fed he goes back to sleep.

Nature...I take a cereal bar to bed which i eat on the third night feed at 5am. It helps me sleep as my tummy is not rumbling.

Angel...I am also considering mixed feeding but cannot make up my mind. Bring can be so demanding cant it.

Pidgy · 12/03/2014 02:21

Tarka you poor love. It is so tough with a toddler and baby. I don't know how you are doing it.
The toddler can be so infuriating and if they are delaying whilst the baby is crying I can really feel my blood boiling.
I've shouted at DS a few times too. We're only human.

How long is DH working away for? Is it a long term thing?
Hope it gets easier. Xxx
