I have a shitload of potatoes! What can I cook for tea?
Shepherd's/cottage pie? The cheesey-potato-bacon thing I saw on Saturday kitchen?
Any suggestions?

FatimaLovesBread · 02/01/2014 15:15

Tartiflette that's what it was on Sunday Brunch

PetiteRaleuse · 02/01/2014 15:51

Yum. Love tartiflette.

Passmethecrisps · 02/01/2014 15:53

Baked potato soup.
Corned beef hash
Fish cakes
Fish pie
Spanish omlette

P just Peter Panned off the middle of the stairs. Literally spread her arms and dived. Thankfully I was standing there but she did it so quickly. Not hurt. Banged her head fairly gently and cried very briefly. Comforted then ran straight back and had another go.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 16:00

The Spanish potatoes that you will find on mumsnet recipe finder, just do then in a casserole pan rather than a slow cooker for a quicker tea.

StuntNun · 02/01/2014 16:02

I have hurt my hand twatting the twunting computer which will not connect to the Interwebs. Hmm The laptop is in getting fixed and the desktop is a useless piece of crap that has never worked right only working intermittently. Proper first world problems here.

Well, both boys enjoyed the Spanish potatoes with crusty bread, I have now chucked in some chilli flakes and out it on low till DH comes in. Could be on for a winner leftover tea.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 16:43

Oh dear stunt you sound very irritated indeed. I hope your hand heals. Smile

Pikz · 02/01/2014 16:44

< fist pumps pass back > only about 2.5 hours to go!

I actually nearly wet myself laughing earlier. Getting out of car on drive. Got L out and put him on his feet as he wanders the drive usually whilst I lock car. He ran over to a puddle and started splashing which was fine as he was in his wellies. He then ran to the next puddle which was deeper and splashed. Then before i could stop him he sat in it and covered himself in muddy water and as I went towards him he covered me. He spent a good couple of minutes walking puddle to puddle and pretty much bathing in the mud whilst shrieking with laughter.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 17:03

J cut his eye today. Not the actual ball, but very near. I heard DD2 apologising and comforting him, so I asked her what happened. 'I didn't hurt him Mummy, honest'. Hmm. Bit scary as it looked like he was crying blood, but it was just that it was so near.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/01/2014 17:06

DD1 does that too vq when she hurts LO by accident. Apologies and lots of don't worry, you'll be fine :o

I'm watching it, I'm watching it. Welcome back Sherlock, you were missed!

PurplePidjin · 02/01/2014 18:12

Sophia sausage and lentil casserole; sweet potato falafel with vegetable cous cous; soy mince spag bol/shepherd's pie/lasagne/moussaka/chilli; jacket potatoes with beans and cheese

Horrific night. Stayed at parents after birthday dinner for dad. R started stirring at 1:30, woke at 2 and didn't go back to sleep at all. So i had 4 glasses of wine and 1 1/2 hours sleep. Df came home to have the night off. I feel like hell, but have leftover fizzy Wine and df is making curry :o

That still feels weird to type Hmm

FatimaLovesBread · 02/01/2014 18:24

Mmm Spanish potatoes. I've done cottage pie tonight for the first time ever but I've ballsed it up. Didn't look to be enough filling so bulked it out, then when I've come to put the mash on there's not enough of that. I think my dish is too big. Will find out if it's a fail when DH gets home.

So menu for tomorrow is tartiflette. PR do you have any particular recipes? I watched one on Sunday brunch which was her version of it with Christmas leftovers. It used Brie and cheddar instead and we've Brie that needs using.

The Saturday I think we'll have Spanish potatoes.

Me and M went for a walk to the shops with her new lead reins earlier, she was walking along singing having a whale of a time Grin

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 18:41

The Spanish Pots were an absolute hit. I put some chorizo in and no chilli flakes at first and gave it too the boys with lovely crusty bread. Then I popped in the chilli flakes and turned it down low and me and DH had ours with the rest of the bread. Brilliant winter supper.

ppcan you share the recipe for the sweet pot falafel?

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 18:55

We had sweet potato, parsnip, bacon and lentil soup tonight and it was scrummy even though I say so myself.

Lily311 · 02/01/2014 19:10

Done, ready to discuss it when sophia watched it.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 19:13

Not yet not yet!

ReindeerIsles · 02/01/2014 19:39

YW what a stupid thing to say Angry

Am I the only person who hasn't ever seen Sherlock?

I made it to work today. Got 'sent home' at 10am. Left at 3pm when my boss told me I looked like death Hmm Had a sleep and managed to keep some food down so feel more human now. Just seriously beginning to stress about my exam Confused

I popped over to my mum's to see M briefly this evening. OMG she has grown up so much in 2 days Sad. They have bought her a toy tablet and everytime it plays a tune she stands up and starts dancing. Mega cute. She was playing peek-a-boo with my work pass and happily waved bye to me as I left.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 20:01

Isles I have not seen it either.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 20:02

PP I am concerned that he has been promoted to DF, but has lost his VVV.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 20:04

I could never actually bring myself to say 'fiancé' as it sounds so silly when I say it. I called DH my boyfriend right up to the wedding.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 20:04

Grrrrrr, can not watch any f thing on my iPad in bedroom. Feeling really irritable about it. Can't watch what I want during the day so come for some peace and quiet at night and the fucking thing won't work.
