I hate bad dreams. Although they're only dreams they can leave you shaky for quite a while.

The plan today is get Ella weighed then take DD1 ice skating. Well I will skate and push her round on a banana thing.

Hope everyone has a good day. Booo to those going back to work. pr hang on in there. Not long till they bugger off.

Passmethecrisps · 02/01/2014 09:43

Morning all.

I read your post twice sophia as it took me that to work out is was a dream. Vivid dreams are horrific. I have been left with that sicky stomach turny feeling for a long time after one. Hope you feel better soon.

Good luck with getting to work isles - hope you feel better soon.

While I am looking forward to the anecdotes pr I would rather you just got some peace and quiet. What is fil like?

Today we will be awaiting the arrival of my parents who yet again left it until the last minute to tell us they would be coming up for three days. Ah well.

P is currently helping with the preparation by sorting through the recycling. Always helpful and socially responsible!

I've been feeling pretty crook for a few days - sore throat, ear ache, sinus pain and deaf in one ear. After waking up in horrible stabbing pain from my ear last night I got an emergency docs appointment at the ILs surgery today. Turns out I've got tonsillitis, sinusitis and my left ear is so infected the drum will likely rupture today. Discussing which ABs and pain killers would be safe for me to take whilst nursing, the middle-aged female doc advised that J at 14 months is a big baby why on earth am I still BF? Shock

Passmethecrisps · 02/01/2014 10:21

Ffs! Why is that relevant? Has she read who guidelines? Even if she hasn't that is none of her chuffing business. What did she suggest? Instant weaning?

Sorry you are so poorly Sad

YellowWellies · 02/01/2014 10:27

And she's prescribed me cocodamol and penicillin both of which are counter indicated when BF. Oh FFS!!!!!! Angry Envy

Zamboni · 02/01/2014 10:30

Can't believe that came from a GP YW. FFS.

sophia I hate lingering bad dreams. I have a recurring nightmare about my teeth crumbling. I can taste and roll crumbled teeth pieces around in my mouth. I know it's tied to anxiety but is powerfully and frighteningly realistic. Makes me realise the brain's power, IYKWIM? And how hideous and vivid and real episodes of hallucinations or psychosis problems must be to those experiencing them. That sounds stupid. But I sympathise.

Work is ok. Avoided a bacon sarnie this morning . I do have 2 kitkat chunkies in my desk drawer though so it's not going to be a totally good day. Grin

PRWineWineWine 24 hours to go? Mental Thanks for my PIL in anticipation of your tales.

fruitpastilles · 02/01/2014 10:36

I hate dreams like that sophia that are so real.
zamboni I always have dreams about my teeth aswell! not so much that they are crumbling! but that they are wobbly and I pull them out, I can actually taste the blood when I dream it aswell it's horrible.

yw WTAF? I can't believe she said that to you! Hope you feel better soon.

fruitpastilles · 02/01/2014 10:37

pass have a nice time with your dps, bummer to them not giving you any notice though! that would piss me off.

FatimaLovesBread · 02/01/2014 10:51

M's sleep is still fucked Sad last night it was 10:30 she eventually went to sleep after coming to bed with me and DH. She then had wake ups at half one, half four and half six. We left her at half six and she did go to sleep then after talking to her toys for twenty mins.
She seems to have lost the ability to self settle, to sleep through and has shifted her sleep time back three hours. Confused
Whe she does wake up she screams hysterically until we get her.

I think her molars are working their way up and hoping that's the reason for crap sleep and she'll eventually fix it herself and us being back at work will shift her wake ups earlier then hopefully her bedtime will move back earlier too? I'm just shattered in the meantime.

Had big plans today, m was going to GP so I could spend a day blitzing the house, sorting all toys, sorting all M's old clothes for storage/selling. However GP had got this tummy bug going around so it's me and M for the day, think we'll go for a long walk later

Will try catch up on the thread if she has a descent nap not likely

FatimaLovesBread · 02/01/2014 10:57

Just read the end of the thread. WTF YW!! Does she not know the guidelines Angry and then to give you meds you can't take!

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 11:07

So what will you do yw?

Ooo crumbly teeth sounds ewwwwww. Enjoy your chunky kitkats though zamboni and take extra care when biting into them.

Conspicuous by absence of late has been chasing and gt . det has manic spurts since she is back at work.

I am doing slow cooker mumsnet Spanish potatoes slighted adapted to what I have in fridge for tea. I really need to be on it with the budgeting and any thoughts on good weekday vegetarian meals would be gratefully received. I don't tend to be a fan of aubergine though.

Pikz · 02/01/2014 11:07

Waves!

Can't write a lot, L has realised daddy is away and nanny is at work so I'm on full death prevention whilst eating Xmas tree chocs to keep myself calm...

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 11:21

I would double up on those chocs pikz hope you have a good day Hmm

Pikz · 02/01/2014 11:39

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 12:00

Brilliant! Grin

fruitpastilles · 02/01/2014 12:12

Oh god pikz I'd have had a heart attack!

ChasingDaisy · 02/01/2014 12:29

Am here Sophia! Busy trying to get house and life back in order after Christmas. That dream sounds horrible. I hate freaky dreams. I had one last night that my dad got really angry and threw a cup of boiling tea over me and Oscar Shock Made it a hot awkward when I saw my dad this morning....

Shock YW. Very shocked that a GP would say that to you.

Oscar is completely hilarious lately, I spend much of my day laughing with/at him. We have been practicing animal noises and he has perfected a waddling penguin impression Grin

What did we think of Sherlock last night? Fact: the actors playing Sherlock's parents are Cumberbatch's actual RL parents. Plus John's girlfriend is played by his RL wife. Trivia-tastic.

Lily311 · 02/01/2014 12:39

Don't say a word about Sherlock pls. I'm going to watch it tonight. Pretty pls.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 02/01/2014 12:41

Ohhhh I failed I was so tired I thought I would go to bed watch the thirteenth thingy on I player and do the same with Sherlock tonight. Only I player or broadband didn't cooperate so I was asleep by about 9! Will try again tonight.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 13:00

I dream I have a wobbly tooth. I pull it, and all the rest come out too, like beads on a string. I taste the blood too. All anxiety related.

fruitpastilles · 02/01/2014 13:04

chasing I knew it was Martin Freeman's wife, didn't know about BC's parents though. Sooo excited to talk about it but will wait until lily and sophia have seen it.

vq is that what it is anxiety related when you dream about teeth? That would sit right with me if it is. I am quite anxious a lot of the time.

fruitpastilles · 02/01/2014 13:12

Oh saw an article that someone had linked to on MN aswell by the daily fail, and they couldn't even get his name right, they kept writing Dominic Cumberbatch.

Passmethecrisps · 02/01/2014 14:10

I have dreams about wobbly teeth which gradually fall out. I also get the taste of blood and my teeth genuinely wobble during the day. After a bout of neuralgia I discovered I have a clicky jaw and had been grinding my teeth in my sleep. Straightforward stress response.

Talking of stress responses I might well need one. My parents would try the patience of a saint. They are arriving in town at some point today. No idea when or what their plan is. I texted earlier asking if they would be coming round here at some point or whether they would just be relaxing at the hotel. The text I got back was "maybe at some point for an hour. Then we can take it from there". I am trying not to get uptight but why can't they see that we might need some warning if they are planning to come round? Will they expect dinner here? No idea. Today is a bank holiday in Scotland so the shops shut early meaning we will need to go and buy stuff for them just in case.

If they lived locally then the liaise fair approach would make sense but they don't. It's not even like we can leave them with p for an hour while we go out as they expect to be treated like guests all the while telling us how relaxing it is to be at ours It is honestly sometimes like having another couple of kids in the house. Very lovely kids but kids none the less.

Sorry, ladies.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2014 14:21

Don't apologise Pass. This is our safe place where we can whinge and whine about our loved and not-so-loved ones.

Lily311 · 02/01/2014 14:32

Thanks fruit. I am going to put O to sleep mega early to watch Sherlock. Had a lovely swim with my dad an enjoyed my 2 hOurs off from O.
