IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS!!! (Humour me?)

VQ (((hugs))) to you all, it is very tough. My nanny had cancer from when I was about 8, she too looked awful on occasion. We used to joke about her colouring, and say she glowed in the dark - slightly macabre humour but perhaps a way of managing the childrens fears?

PR goooooooood luck and lots of Wine - is it wrong to say I'm looking forward to the tales of the next few days!? Grin

Hiya kyz - imagine the epicness of the post when you have time! Shall have to earmark a whole evening lol.

Lily my nieces are a bit older but LOVED their Christmas presents from us - which was a wicker basket with lots of girly goodies in - a good book, mug with sachet of hot chocolate/marshmallows, slipper socks, nail varnish etc. Bit big hits. They spent the big day reading their books, and ignoring their new Kindle fires Grin - nice to hear the power of a good book still trumps all else.

DH has work tomorrow morning, then his nans funeral in the afternoon, so am going to have a girly morning with the 2 little chimps, and attempt to take the dog out for a walk Confused - wish me luck!? Am soooo looking forward to 4 days off work now. And tomorrow night, our "Christmas eve" traditions shall kick in - film, new PJs, hot choc (even have chocolate Oatley for the CMPI one) and snuggles with the fire on. Yum Grin

Yeay bp! Sounds absolutely lovely. I hope Santa is very good to you all when he arrives.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/12/2013 22:42

VERY wrong piggy but I'll forgive ya :)

BigPigLittlePig · 26/12/2013 22:43

Oh and GT Thanks and ((hugs)) and Cake and whatever else you need. You are a superstar my lovely xxx

PetiteRaleuse · 26/12/2013 22:46

And merry Christmas piggy I hope you enjoy your day. Whenever it is.

Tomorrow right?

vq hope the weather doesn't arse things up. Would swap. Here it's grey and 10+. Like my childhood. I've got used to proper cold winters the last few years but this year and last are rubbish. Where's my snow? And ice? or anything else which would stop ils coming ?

BigPigLittlePig · 26/12/2013 22:50

Sadly not til Saturday! But only 2 sleeps to go lol. Sleep. A term I use loosely of late.

Night all, loving the fb pics xx

StuntNun · 26/12/2013 23:06

At last it's all over. I normally love Christmas but two panic attacks on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Day have put me off for life. I will never spend Christmas with the ILs again and as of now I'm going no contact with them apart from DNephew is sleeping over with DS2 tonight but then it's not his fault my Christmas was ruined. I tried to book flights for next Christmas to go and stay with my parents but it's too early to get tickets so I'll have to wait a bit longer. DS1 and DS2 can have the choice of my parents or DH's parents for next Christmas but the way I feel now I could quite happily never see them at Christmas ever again. FFS seven adults in the house and I'm having to balance J on one hip while cooking dinner for eleven people. Bastards.

OMG. stunt that sounds awful. Yes, next Christmas will be better and we will all help you ensure it is with quiche fish slaps if you crack. So sorry it was so awful :(

Have a good cry and move on. Next year will be much much better.

Passmethecrisps · 26/12/2013 23:33

Sorry everyone but can I offer an unfestive 'fucking cunts' for stunt

MsJupiterJones · 26/12/2013 23:35

That's bloody awful Stunt. Sorry to hear your Christmas has been as bad as you feared. Did you have to do all the different meals in the end?

PetiteRaleuse · 26/12/2013 23:42

It sounds worse than you feared actually.

Bastards.

YellowWellies · 26/12/2013 23:52

Stunt I'd be flying DH off somewhere too - surely he of them all should have ensured you were never put in that situation. I'm not complaining about the two lazy selfish fucks at our Christmas again as at least DH and DSis were working flat out to help Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock . Hope you feel better now xx

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 27/12/2013 01:37

Thanks for vq and. stunt all sounds dreadful in both counts.

stunt do they realise what twats they were or are they completely oblivious?

vq there is nothing else to say cancer is a bitch I am so so sorry for all if you. Xxx

Lying awake the wind is scarily horrendous. We might blow away like wizard of oz.

StuntNun · 27/12/2013 04:28

Sorry sorry sorry for moaning. I did try and make the most of the day and we had a good morning with just the five of us. It was the cooking that did me in - I nearly did a runner just before dinner, I was tempted to put J in the car and go for a long drive. I only got back from Manchester late on Monday, and spent Monday evening wrapping presents, so I wanted to do all the food prep on Christmas Eve. Instead I spent Christmas Eve looking after DNephew and BIL then DH went out with DS1 and DS2 and J had a massive upset which I think must mean he got something with egg in it. Hmm So I was left trying to do all the food prep in one day. Anyway it's all over now, I just feel a bit shell shocked iykwim.

I said to DH that I felt he was putting his parents and siblings ahead of me and the kids but he didn't agree that was the case.

stunt hugs. I promise next year we will all have a better Xmas.

Back to normal today, going to post office to pick up a parcel than will cook some soup and just enjoy the peace. My brother was awful on Xmas day and I need to ask them to return something so dreading that phone call.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 27/12/2013 07:11

Oh no lily what happened?

We are still listening to wind. Me and DH up,all night. Listening. Boys slept through. Confused we are knackered.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/12/2013 07:30

Stunt don't apologise for moaning. We don't have to apologise for moaning. If we do please all accept my apologies in advance for the next 5-7 days.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 27/12/2013 08:10

No one apologize, no one stop moaning is how I know you are all human out there and just like me!

StuntNun · 27/12/2013 10:23

AF was supposed to arrive five days ago but still no sign. When do I start to panic?

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 27/12/2013 10:31

Stunt POAS. Please. Don't panic just pee.

ValiumQueen · 27/12/2013 10:31

Not caught up btw. Just saw AF mentioned and got excited.

HoLilyChristmas311 · 27/12/2013 10:37

Poas stunt. My af is still all over the place and it returned in May. Any chance of a positive result?

YellowWellies · 27/12/2013 10:49

Stunt I'd have thought DH's behaviour would be sufficient contraception Wink wah go piss on a stick! Shock

ChasingDaisy · 27/12/2013 10:55

Stunt I wouldn't be surprised if your cycle was all over the place due to the stress you've been under recently. But yes, poas.

StuntNun · 27/12/2013 10:57

Mine had been pretty regular since the spring Lily but I have been very stressed out lately so it's probably just that, I also suspect I may be peri-menopausal. However there has been an 'opportunity' so there's a smidgen of doubt in my mind. I don't have a tester and probably won't be near a shop any time soon with the awful weather we're having right now. I have used an ovulation tester (which detects HcG as well as LH) and it is resolutely negative.
