Evil your landlord has to give 24 hours written notice requesting access to the property - she can't just turn up, and letting herself in is totally illegal. I'd be a bit nervous about how panicky she was about a slight delay on the rent (it makes me worry she has money troubles). As Isles says payment hiccups are to be expected this time of year what with bank holidays. Grrrr there are so many inept landlords in this country who think they have sufficient feudal superiority to ignore the law and play fast and loose with tenants lives.

YellowWellies · 24/12/2013 09:48

Pennie are you off to Shek O beach? Or somewhere in the New Territories.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 10:08

Whingey whining babies. Have not been able to prepare anything yet and the house looks like a bomb has hit it. And is filthy to boot. DH is at work but should be back by 4.

Feeling very unfestive indeed.

ChasingDaisy · 24/12/2013 11:07

I'll join you in that PR. Christmas can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

YellowWellies · 24/12/2013 11:07

Gah we woke up to no hot water. Thankfully there's a plumber round the corner who didn't charge us a call out fee (on Christmas Eve!!!) and has managed a quick fix until he can fit a new valve in the new year. 5 guests and no hot water would have been taking the piss!

HoLilyChristmas311 · 24/12/2013 11:41

Joining to the club. Fuck the fuck off Xmas. I'm guessing ear infection again.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 24/12/2013 12:22

Oh no you lot. Get the over here. I have the ham in the slow cooker and am just treating myself to a homous, roamed and coriander wrap, a rose and a few crisps. And a candle on.

Is blowing a gale. Really.

We too have a poorly baby, have just thrown him in bed and offloaded toddler on nanny to eat her out of cake.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 24/12/2013 12:22

Rocket. Rocket. Rocket. You stupid I pad.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 12:35

Coq au vin in the oven slow cooking. All other food delivered. Am scrapping the soup for tonight, will have to be for another day, the girls are too clingy.

My cat has gone missing. He never goes missing. Well, did once for over a week. V unlike him to go anywhere. Hope he is ok. :(

GTbaby · 24/12/2013 13:09

Evil how awful.
And quiche babies! Do you know it's Christmas! Lets please all give our mummies a break. Ok babies?

I think they understand.

Pr any chance of doing a take away? Think its fair enough considering you will be cooking tomorrow. How is the cock?

Managed to watch 10 mins of the Santa clause with H today with his say on my knee. Then he lost interest and decided the mac wires were more interesting.

Isle love your elf gifts. We will start similar nxt year.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 13:17

Cat came back. I think the wind has scared him.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 13:18

No takeaway here. The cock will be yum. Smells divine. Tomorrow is easy. Just a roast.

ChasingDaisy · 24/12/2013 13:28

I wish I had some yummy food. Lunch is a sandwich Hmm

YellowWellies · 24/12/2013 15:24

PR we lost Mr Cat for a long weekend on Orkney when he was spooked by the wind and then mobbed by nesting oyster catchers! Glad puss is home.

Well my red wine soaked venison has been wrapped in bacon and is in the oven on a bed of shallots. There's a sweet potato mash, roasted carrots and butternut squash and a port, thyme and juniper berry sauce. Nom! Just got to make borscht. Have decided there's too much food so will do pirogi on boxing day unless my sis really wants it tonight. Sounds like my sis, her 'D'H and his MIL have been having explosive fights all morning so am slightly dreading them turning up! Sad

Am listening to the carols from King's college whilst Jonas empties a fridge Confused Hmm he's also figured to push the stool up to the sink so he can climb up and cause merry hell at counter height!!! Envy

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 24/12/2013 15:42

Takeaway will be ordered as soon as m is in bed. I first have to endure a visit from my bastard father. It was about a year ago eh last graced us with his presence ....

HoLilyChristmas311 · 24/12/2013 16:40

yw you have polish blood in your family? I love pierogi and borscht, used to eat it in Poland. Can't wait for bedtime, ill baby is not fun.

Misslaughalothohoho · 24/12/2013 17:03

Anyone else think we could publish a quiche cookbook for busy mums? There have been some seriously yummy recipes shared this year.

Just wanted to wish you ALL a very happy Christmas. As an infrequent poster I feel that I only take from this thread and have nothing to offer, but you are all amazing mummies (and daddy!) and every one of you deserves a joyful day tomorrow. xx

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 17:48

DD1 is back to her naughty self but still has the mouth ulcers so can hardly eat. But pasta and smoked salmon have been added to the list of things she can cope with.

Fever down though.

New Christnas Eve tradition here : tidying so that Father Christmas doesn't hurt himself on stray bits of lego.

StuntNun · 24/12/2013 18:13

I'm sick of Christmas already and we haven't even got there yet. It's too stressful for me this year on top of everything else.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 24/12/2013 18:53

miss yes. Was thinking actually the other day, could I do something thought the home start peeps to help mums who struggle cooking nutritious meals for the whole family, inc smaller members. Is just a tiny tiny thought at the mo. I need to practice on the in low budget side of it which is January's project.

All going suprisingly smoothly at the mom but watch this space!

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 24/12/2013 18:53

Good tradition pr

PetiteRaleuse · 24/12/2013 19:09

Ok. Salmon and foie gras went down well. DH almost chocked on his cock but enjoyed the coq au vin. I bit into it. The sauce was perfect. But I don't like cock. Looks like I prefer chick en

Dammit. Sauce excellent though.

Once DD1 is down am going to eat some log, mop the floor, smoke a fag, drink Father Christmas's port and go to bed early.
