F is farting like a bloke on my lap and applauding the x-factor sing off. 2 days of work then annual leave thank fuck goodness....

Help.

What the fuck is going on.

He won't sleep.

Ahhhh.
Ahhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhh.

Is all I hear. He does not have a temp. He has a cold so I gave paracetamol at 6. He has had his inhaler. He doesn't feel too cold.

Could he be hungry?

Should I try some weatabix? I am not giving him a bottle. Well. I have no bottles. A beaker then.

I just don't know.

Nothing will calm him down.

I love you too vq

He has stopped. A trip downstairs averted.

I had probiotics for DD1 and her awful awful eczema and they were great. The nutritionalist I saw got them for her. Was a powder I used to put in the milk. She was on goats milk formula as she had to come of cows milk, I don't think a lot of the alternatives that are around now were about then.

Is blowing a gale outside. Wind turbine on full output, I just hope it does not wake him up again.

Hi all,

Have very quickly skim read but not retained a lot! I survived missing E's birthday. She had a lovely time with my family of course and I had a lovely time at the wedding so all was well. We did presents and cake with her this afternoon so I do feel at least like I have marked the occasion in some way.

Have had a nice birthday today myself although I could have done without the stinking hangover. Can't really complain though as was very manageable without kids to have to deal with. DH got me a new phone which I was surprised about as I kept umming and arrring about what one to go for and he said he'd prob get me one for xmas. He bit the bullet in the end and went for a samsung galaxy s4. I prob would have gone for the new iphone myself but mustn't complain Smile. He also bought me tickets to see Miss Saigon next year and booked the babysitters. It's the first time ever he has booked sitters, that job's normally left to me.

E got some lovely presents but the big hit seems to be the boppin elephant thing that blows balls out of his trunk.

Re the standing debate, E has only recently started pulling herself up to stand. She likes standing loads now but is nowhere near being able to do it unaided. All in good time my friends, all in good time.

I think I caught up with the birthdays on fb but just in case I've missed anyone, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Cake.

bplp Glad to see you can post again. Sorry to read of woes though.

waves to flounce Good luck for the surgery.

vq Hope you are in bed sleeping now.

kyz E's party looks fab. You did a wonderful job.

chasing Hope you are feeling ok now my lovely.

det Hope O is ok.

Re pillows etc, E is just in grobag and moves all over the place so no pillow for her until big bed. DD1 didn't go into a big bed till she was 2.5 and seemed very happy in her cot still. E will be in her cot till past that age at this rate (as long as she is still happy in it). And DD1 was still in grobags in her cot. We did straight from cot & grobag into big bed with proper bedding with no issues at all. Just hope E is just as easy I suspect she won't be.

Sorry I can't remember what else I wanted to say. It's been quite some weekend so very frazzled and better take myself off to bed. Night night.

vq I love you too and good luck for today.
eliza glad that birthdays went ok and wow for your dh! nice presents.
det I saw a duvet which zips to the undersheet. It's this one: gro.co.uk/grobag-nursery-stay-on-bedding
It looks good however O has an ikea cheap cot measuring only 60*120. She will be one of the first ones going into a big bed as she is very long. Not sure about the measurements of big beds just yet. I will keep her in sleeping bag as long as possible and she won't have a pillow just yet as she is a tummy sleeper. She only has her cuddly toy with her in the cot, she has a party overnight if something else slips there too.
flounce good luck with surgery and well done j for sleeping through.

Milk and beaker advice pls. How do you transition to cow's milk? We have half a box of formula left and I can't buy more here so need to think about transitioning. Shall I just start mixing them slowly? Or go for cold turkey approach? Also do you get rid of the bottle and give beaker at the same time or shall I wait? And how many ounces from age 1? O is averaging 16 oz in 3 bottles at the moment. I went cold turkey with bottle a month ago as she refused water from it and after not drinking for 3 days at all she gave in and accepted the beaker. So I know she could in theory drink her milk as well from a beaker.

lily I just went cold turkey on the milk. He was fine. Except he has now turned into a major mischief. But I don't think that has anything to do with the milk!

I don't use pillows until they are much older. DS1 and DD2 stayed in the cot until they were about three. They both loved their cots but ended up with a duvet and small pillow set from the age of about 2 1/2 . I think O will be out of his cot earlier as the drop side has broken rough removal men so it is attached with those tree tie things so won't be safe once he gets much bigger. We are going to get a bed in the new year so it is ready.

Clearly they don't sleep when they go though big milestones. This morning we have a fully independent stander taking more than his two steps.

I'm just a little tired after seeing every half hour since 3.30zzzzz

Happy birthday little E and Brew to Sophia and det and anyone else up!

Happy birthday big and little eliza your presents sound perfect.

We are standing but not walking, creeping and cruising are a much more efficient and stealthy way to steal ones brother's toast and wreck his train set.

I am beginning to think about Christmas now that Oliver's birthday is over. I don't know what you all do but I like to dress up a bit on Christmas Day and usually I treat myself to a
Christmas dress. But this year, we have haemorrhaged money on the house, I am no longer working and as I have lost so much weight I thought I would pull out one of my old dresses and tart it up with
sparkly shoes I am doing Christmas here so I don't want to be running about in heels.

What do you think?

vq really sorry to hear of more vom. It's just so weird that the drs haven't yet had any ideas. Hopefully a consultant will find the answer. Hope work is ok today too...

yw we didn't put ds1 in a bed til he was 2.8. And that was after we'd go a groclock so he already knew about it being time to get up when the sun came up.

bplp hope you get a good night soon flounce* hope J has a good night for you too!

Happy birthday to all the newly 1s too.

Cannot remember any more - sorry. Am joining the ranks of the sleep deprived matchstick adjusters this morning. No real idea what caused multiple awakenings last night, best guess is teeth. Am going to hope I don't actually nod off at my desk today.

Am wearing a movement monitor watch thing this week for the life study (saw msjj sporting one too). the question on the study was when did you wake up, as in ready to get up and about for the day. Was tempted to fill in along the lines of 'not sure i am awake today'. Fred was v good yesterday, just a bit of a shame that we missed a lovely sunny day being inside. I did suggest that perhaps someone could have minded him while i answered qus on a computer if they wanted sensible answers as i was also engaged in stopping him pull expensive hospital equipment off the walls Grin

Our birthday weekend was fun, though completely knackering. Having avoided any semblance of a party for ds1 to date, i'm not entirely sure why I did for F. It was a bit crazy in our small house and that was with 4 x 1 year old and 3 x 3 yr olds. Thank goodness ds1 is a may baby and the possibility of outside gatherings!

Morning all. I went to bed at half past 7 last night. Was asleep by about 8.30 Apparently LO woke at 2, cold, then at 5 for some milk but I slept through all of that. Woke up at 8.

I really really needed to sleep.

Only own with the kids today. DD1 is being particularly violent with LO today. Throwing stuff at her and pushing her when she thinks I am not looking. I don't know how to handler her when she is like this. If I send her to her room or the naughty spot she just laughs and doesn't stay put. If I raise my voice she shouts back. If I confiscate a toy she just shrugs and gets a Different toy. If. I threaten anything, even though I always carry threats through, she just doesn't care. I'll take them out later but i haven't hah time to get dressed, and i need to tidy and she has spent the last hour throwing all her duplo right round the house.

vq good luck with your meeting.

sophia I don't dress up at xmas but the last few have been such hellish xmases for various reasons if I didn't have the children I would ignore it completely, like I used to before meeting dh. Last year I prepared the most perfect Christmas, right down to the very last detail. It was all fucked up, DD1 was so ill, too ill to get dressed up in the cute little outfit, I was ill and it was a really sad, worrying day. I don't think I even took any pictures. I hardly dare plan anything this year.
