I am giving him 5 oz bottles so as not to overload him.

He has had a lovely day. I really thought he might have a night off from the vomfest.

I know exactly what you mean though vq. The number of times I have found myself fill up watching babies being fed - milk or solids - and it just seems so easy. I still find myself choked by it.

When is the consultant app? I hope you get the same one p has as he is ace.

I haven't heard anything, but I can guarantee my GP will be sick of me phoning up and asking. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Mama is gonna get squeakin'!

BP good for you. I think reflux is the big 'fuck you' to smug "they just need a routine" Mummies. Not wanting to wish a refluxy baby on anyone - but yes I'd wish one on one of those sorts of Mummies. When my sister was going through 18 months of colic, vom hell and sleeplessness with her firstborn who had undiagnosed CMPI - a pal with the sort of baby who would nod off anywhere (highchair, playmat, floor!) suggested she try a nighttime routine. My sister's response still makes me Grin . She lost it and snapped "What the fuck do you think I do? - take him to death metal clubs before bed?"

For us we can have all the routine in the world but if his reflux is bad - so is bedtime. A routine is great and we always stick to it but it doesn't achieve jackshit if he's in pain. So when he sleeps I recognise it has very little to do with what we do but rather how he's feeling.

VQ Thanks maybe try probiotics as Stunt suggested?

Flounce J slept through - wow! Shock

VQ the thought of Jonas in a bed not a cot in six months is Shock. DH and I just went Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock and decided he'd be forever clambering into bed with us or trashing the house whilst we slept.

YW that made me LOL Grin I will have to remember that one.

By pro-biotics, do you mean tablet things? I know of yoghurt drinks, but not sure they would helpWink how do you get them in the little buggers?

When they climb out of the cot it is time for a bed. And a gate at the bedroom door.

The thought of L out of a cot is frightening.

Though his current fave thing to do is climb on the coffee table and spin around on it.

Or get in the dishwasher or climb in the loo.

The dietician is very into probiotics vq. Give her a call!

And great response yw and bp. I have no idea what makes people so smug. A colleague at work was telling me the other day that his youngest (now in her twenties) slept no longer than 20 minutes a time for 2 years. He still looked haunted talking about it.

Was it luis who said he had people saying to him "why don't you just tell baby that it's bedtime?" Utter shite.

And the thing is you can have the best sleeper in the world but it can change in a heartbeat. My sister's baby has always been a 13 hour a night, several in the day , sleep on the changing mat kind of baby. She watched open mouthed as I wrestled a refluxy p into an exhausted nap. Now it would appear he has regressed and she is up at least 6 times a night. She was never smug and I feel awful for her

Which one VQ - lipil or AA? Just wondered if it was time for a change if it was the lipil...

Sleep dodger is up. 3 hours isn't too bad Hmm

Lipil. I asked for AA when he had been on it about three weeks and he got worse after being symptom free. I will ask again. Gotta be worth a try.

VQ you can get probiotics as a powder - my niece had to have them after Norovirus decimated her tummy flora I'll find out where my sister got them from....

Lipil will cause a reaction in 10% of CMPI babies - when J has formula he's still on AA. I'm to try him on lipil before our dietician appointment in December but if he's not able to take trace dairy we've been told to stick to AA. Envy I'm so cross for how you've been treated VQ Sad
