I am so sorry for your loss sophia Thanks

Yay for a sleeperthrougher pidj

I have a gin hangover. Envy Envy Envy And judging by the three empty bottles of gin admittedly they weren't all full to begin with it is rightfully deserved. Boak Blush

ValiumQueen · 16/11/2013 09:31

Thank you all for your kind words x

MIL has been in hospital for about two months now and they have been saying no sign of cancer, but found it yesterday wrapped tightly around the bile duct. They cannot remove it because of where it is, cannot put a drain in, chemo could potentially shrink it so they could put a drain in, but they do not think it would be kind to do so. Bit confused really. There is also a mass on her kidney but have not said if this is cancer as well.

I spoke with the manager at nursery and she assured me she would check it out, as no mum should be made to feel like her child was a burden. She says there is only ever two babies to one nurse and there are often 4 nurses in the room, so enough to give loves as appropriate. Was awkward when I collected him as the girls were so apologetic. I had to say something though, I just had to.

My boss was amazingly horrid to me yesterday. I burst into tears when she left. I sent her an email outlining what she had said, and how she was wrong and I was right, and copied in her boss who was actually a witness to it all and did nothing, and my line manager who was horrified. She is a bully and what goes around comes around. I am recording everything. What happened with MIL has helped me get perspective though.

Sorry this is all me me me. Will comment further later.

Thank you for being my safe place Thanks

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/11/2013 09:45

sophia sorry for your loss. It is lovely that your DC's got to know their great grandmother. I hope the funeral goes ok. Whilst sad occasions I also find they can be uplifting (when the circumstances of death warrants it). I always remember my nans funeral fondly as it was lovely to see everyone nearest and dearest to her come together to say their farewells.

isles ouch! That makes me boak even more as I hate gin. 3 bottles! I'm assuming they aren't the huge bottles!

Having very lazy morning. DH is golfing so we are just slobbing about in our pj's. don't think it's worth getting the girls ready till its time to go to the party. The sun is shining here too pr and by the looks of it is due to stay for the next 4 days. Yay!

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/11/2013 09:50

Crossed posts vq. Thanks It's a heartbreaking situation and a reminder about how fragile life is.
Your boss is an absolutely horrid woman. I hope she gets her comeuppance.

zamboni I meant to say in my other post, the picture you painted sounds wonderful. Enjoy having your little bro around.

daisychain76 · 16/11/2013 10:00

Morning. Sorry for your loss sophia and hugs VQ that‘s awful.

DH and l both working today so H and other 2 dcs with my mum for 7 hours. Worried it might scare her off babysitting ever again!

Going to start Christmas present wrapping tonight while watching Christmas on 34th Street and drinking alcohol free cobra (still bfing!).

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/11/2013 10:08

pr they have a three day thing apparently but basically we have 24 hours to organise the funeral. I don't know how they will do it. It took me three weeks to or base my mums.

vq just ((hugs)) for everything.

Oh dear isles is rough. Was it a fun night though?

We have another tooth! It has snuck in without me noticing. I just thought he was a grump.

Have just picked up Lego Advent calendar. Very excited!

ChasingDaisy · 16/11/2013 10:38

misslaughalot · 16/11/2013 11:23

VQ I just cannot believe what life is throwing at you at the moment. You are so strong and graceful with how you are dealing with it all. Hugs and Wine

detective I'm sorry but skim reading the thread has lead me to believe that people are congratulating you on your sealed fanjo!

Zamboni what a fantastic thing to do! Love it!

it's our NCT birthday party today. Looking forward to everyone being together again, it's been ages. And cake!

TheDetective · 16/11/2013 12:37

Sophia I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Big hugs to you and your family. Thanks

Eliza I meant to say the other day - such amazing news about E being discharged! That must be a massive weight off your mind!

VQ You aren't all me me me, and if you were, you deserve to bloody well be!

Thanks for the fanjo congrats! Grin I might brave a look later!

This time last year I was sat in the cinema watching Twilight, massively and grumpily pregnant, 13 days overdue and ready to explode! I think I would have cried had I know then what I know now - I still had another week to wait!

Speaking of such nostalgia - I have been working my way through earlier freds.

I posted this back in March, and I thought it might make a few laugh Grin.

'QQ: For those whose babies are rolling, how soon after they started rolling on their side did they roll over? O seems to be lacking in the active department! He rolls side to side, he grabs at things placed on his chest, and chews on big things. But no signs of rolling, grabbing toys himself or anything like that. I worry that because he is swaddled I'm harming him!'

AHAHAHAAAAAAAA what a tool!!! Grin

Passmethecrisps · 16/11/2013 12:58

I remember that post!!

Lily311 · 16/11/2013 13:10

Hahahahahahaha det, hahahahahah

TheDetective · 16/11/2013 13:18

Lacking in the active department huh?!

What a dickhead Grin.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/11/2013 14:09

ChasingDaisy · 16/11/2013 14:10

ChasingDaisy · 16/11/2013 14:10

Det. Obviously.

Zamboni · 16/11/2013 14:15

Grin Det

FlouncingIsles · 16/11/2013 14:15

Det I think you brought that one on yourself Grin

I survived work. My head is still bouncing though..

BigPigLittlePig · 16/11/2013 16:31

LOL det - oh how I laughed at that! I don't think the swaddle has done too much lasting damage!!

We bought Fs car seat today, waaah she won't be a baby much longer.

DSD has been a handful today. More than a handful. I could happily have walked away at points during today.

Sophia I hope you are able to organise everything ok, it seems like an almighty rush, but I suppose it can be done.

Lily311 · 16/11/2013 17:01

Arghhhhhhhhh runs in and out of thread, whining is doing my head in

PetiteRaleuse · 16/11/2013 17:04

So glad I wasn't on a thread first time round. I remember being surprised at how many chins DD1 had and asking MIL if she would always have saggy jowels Hmm . The piss was royally taken :o

PetiteRaleuse · 16/11/2013 17:05

Nap dodging pita today. Must say DD1 never nap dodged until LO came along and her place was threatened. Easiest baby ever. Plus ça change...

GTbaby · 16/11/2013 18:26

Nice new gro bag for H. Only £16. Feels cosy. Good timing as he has developed a cough and is starting to wheeze a lil. Also keeps scratching his ear.
Will take him to see GP tomorrow.

and I feel like I'm getting a cold. Any do and don't s in terms of bf?

YellowWellies · 16/11/2013 18:26

I've had a lovely Christmas shopping trip to Edinburgh with my sister and Jonas. She was giddy with excitement to have a day's shopping without her kids but we didn't buy anything (other than some ceramic hand printed stuff with Jonas' hands on for Christmas) but it was lovely as he was v good and transfixed by Christmas lights. He also loved Wagamamas - the udon noodles and duck gyoza made him 'nom' so loudly people were turning and laughing. Then I had my nose repierced as I lost my nose ring last month and it f*cking closed up. Bloody hell needle piercings hurt like a bastard - I'd forgotten that bit Envy Shock

I too was a bit fragile after 3/4 of a bottle of wine Blush

Sophia, VQ, Lily big hugs and Brew
