Pup slept through. Well she didn't wake us - which was a shame as she pooed in her cage. DH let her into the garden at six. Then locked them both out so woke the house hammering to get in! What was I thinking?! Is it possible to have a pup and a baby and do right by either of them - feel like neither is getting enough attention Confused . Mission today is get her reliably house trained and not jumping up at Jonas. Am just glad (sorry GT she's just a dog not a baby and I can cage her!!!).

good luck at work xxx

Chasing my DS1 and DS2 preferred their stir fries sans sauce until quite recently although DS1 does have sensory issues with some food textures, he can't have two different textures in his mouth at the same time. Now they like chow mein sauce but J has his served up before the sauce goes in.

Nothing to report.

Feeling very anxious. Don't know what's wrong. U know that nervous feeling.
Hoping doing the dusting will distract me.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 23/09/2013 11:54

Are you feeling the urge to clean GT ?

Pikz · 23/09/2013 12:30

Woooop Fatima happy 10 months to us, det and you!

Having a disastrous time today. 11 hour flight back yesterday, valet parking curbed the car, broadband broken so had to fork out for an office for dp, LO jetlagged so up since 4.40 am. First settling in at nursery and he didn't settle at all so lasted 20 mins :( frog in the lounge and house we are buying jointly with mum has come back on survey with damp.

Can I crawl in a corner and weep?

Lily311 · 23/09/2013 12:39

chasing annabel karmel has a stir fry recipe with coconut milk and korma paste. I find it for you if you don't have the recipe book.

My cousin had a baby 10 days ago, she is a health visitor. She put a pic up of baby in cot with a duvet on. Everything is just so wrong on that pic. I am going to offer her O's sleeping bags but I know she will refuse them as she wants everything new. I don't want to advise her anything as she is a health visitor but it annoys me.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 12:51

Yes pikz you are fully entitled. Sit down I will get you some soup. ( the Thais sweet corn soup is yum, and v restorative)

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 13:07

Can I have some soup sophia? No reason other than it sounds yum.

I have one of the AK books so I'll have a look lily, thanks.

I have eggs in the fridge. So for lunch one day this week I am going to cook O and me something egg-y. I last made an omelette 7 years ago and gave myself food poisoning. I may start with boiled egg.

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 13:08

Ooh good luck for the weigh in Eliza

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 13:13

GT I am jealous of your 4 times this year. I hope to increase my total from 0 by the end of the year Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 23/09/2013 13:24

Love soup. Just eaten school minestrone. Yum yum.

A frog pikz? An actual frog? Sounds awful. Have some Cake

Good luck with the weigh in eliza. I really, really hope you get good news. P has a consultant app tomorrow so I can empathise!

I would also be a bit Hmm lily. Is the guidance there the same with regard to no duvets? Just seems a no brainer when sleeping bags are so safe.

Passmethecrisps · 23/09/2013 13:26

And chasing I reckon mr independence will love being given a boiled egg. Just make sure it is well cooked

ditsygem · 23/09/2013 13:33

AArrrggg - Sorry for not replying to everyone I have skim read through as not got much time at the moment, but just needed to whinge.
F had a fever starting last wed and it finally broke on saturday - he was lethargic with it but fine whilst on calpol/calprofen. His eating went a bit up and down. Since then he has developed a rash (perfectly normal after a virus it would seem) but is fine apart from that. But he is now refusing most food and most milk as well but has woken up to past 2 nights for a feed. He hasn't had a feed for months in the night so its not like hiim at all. I think it is his first molars coming in, but I can't see them yet so we still have a way to go.
He then takes an hour to get back to sleep after the milk and its exhausting. I'm trying everything today to get him to eat more, cooking all his faves but its not happening. He is also being a monster at naps resisting sleep for as long as possible. and screaming through nappy changes - so happy periods are very short lived and its driving me nuts!!
Whinge over.

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 13:42

For stir fry, how about 1tbsp tomato puree, 1 tsp garlic puree I'm lazy and 1tbsp balsamic vinegar as a soy substitute? Could add paprika, 5 spice etc to taste :)

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 14:37

Today O has learnt how to throw. Food and toys, specifically.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 23/09/2013 14:55

Hmm. SIDS guidelines are different in each country. LO slept in a duvet or a blanket pretty much since birth. It was only after a couple of months reading you guys chatting about wraps and sleeping bags that I really thought about it. Here there is no mention of sleeping bags being safer, though they are available at a price and there is no mention of the safety or otherwise of cot bumpers. In fact the only advice I was given about SIDS was putting the baby on the back, airing the room and bedding every day and not letting them overheat.

I think it is like weaning advice and milk preparation advice - each country has their own advice and focus on some things more than others. Nursery was shocked today when I said I was going to introduce cow's milk to LO's bottles to phase out the formula as here it is not advised before the age of three. You'd have thought I had said I was going to add arsenic to each feed.

Well done O on learning to throw. The start of years of fun... Hmm :o

GTbaby · 23/09/2013 15:03

No ginger. No urge to clean. FH pointed out dust in front room a s asked me to do it after he vacuumed. That sounds mean of him but I think he was trying the "get active" approach to inducing labour.

Mil shouted at fil earlier and woke lo up half way through his nap. He gas had lunch n milk now So desperately trying to get him to sleep for another hour. Not working Hmm he keeps rubbing his eyes and is crying over nothing. So deff tiered.

I could do with a nap too.

FH is at work till late. Sucks.

Checked library n all the hypno birthing books in London libraries they have access to are in loan and 2 reservations are ahead of me. Crazy.

Pregnsncy brain. But Thanks to jet lagged mum n baby. Sometimes it doesn't just rain. It pours. But slowly things work out.

Chasing I'm jealous of your lovely bedroom. Been trying to work out what to do with ours since I moved in. And have changed nothing.
And mil had a hissy fit other day about feeding chair getting in her way. I won't go into it. As very petty. And I can't be bothered to argue as trying to keep things calm for fil before his heart op.
speaking of which. FH called consultant n they will only give one weeks notice of operation. Which sucks as they are saying mid October. During lo bday. So don't know what to say to ppl in regards to keeping date free.
We have said keep Saturday after bday free, but if we end up postponing it a week or so ppl won't be available. I know... Their loss. But will cause problems.

ALSO. Anyone know of a good online party supply store? Just want to buy all the novelty party bits. Matching Hats, plates etc for the kids.
Don't think you could link here. But on FB maybe?

was meant to be a quick post!

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 23/09/2013 15:07

OK am feeling more on top of things! Can I recommend a pup for tiring out those with older kids and vice versa. My sister's kids have been over and they all played like mad things in the garden. No more accidents in house thank god.

GT fc FIL's op date works out.

Jonas is 11 months today!

Pikz wah sounds like a crap day.

Pennie glad the super typhoon missed you!

chick hope the day is passing quickly x

Waves to everyone.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 17:16

Please could I get something of my chest?

And then I will be done with it.

I am trying to structure my week with the boys so that we don't just end up blabbing at home. MIL is always really keen to have the boys so I thought if she could have one of them for a couple of hours once a week them I could take the other one swimming and alternate which boy.

Anyway, the times which I can have access to the pool are really limited.

So I asked if she could have O on ?Thursday. She said she couldn't as she was having her hair done. That's fine.

But then SIL phoned while I was there to say she had been offered a day's work on Thurs could she have DNeice. And MIL said yes. In front of me.

I do understand, is her daughter and is a days work but it has hurt my feelings and made me feel very alone. And that I want my mum who would put me first.

And I will buck up I. The next hour but at the moment feel a bit sad and tearful.

TheDetective · 23/09/2013 17:22

Having a strop/stress.

Given O's crappy calcium intake - as per dietician advise, I am trying to get O calcium supplements.

DP was tasked with ringing for an appt with the GP this morning, and arranging the px. Now, back in August the dietician told me there was a manufacturing issue yeah, that shit again with the drops O would have been prescribed.

So, knowing this, I told DP to make an appt and not request a repeat (we had been issued a px of the drops with the manufacturing issue and never got them as he hasn't needed them). However he failed at dodging the receptionist. So didn't get an appt. I NEVER have this issue.

So of course, they just issued a fecking repeat of the calcium drops that we can't bloody get!

So DP handed it back, and apparently the GP looked at it, and said there wasn't anything else they could give him. The only other thing is a chewable one, but they won't issue it due to his age.

So, now what? Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 17:29

Demand an appointment det

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 17:29

Oh no that doesn't work.
