Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 17:31

There must be something else? Alternatively copious amounts of broccoli, cabbage, and spinach! Grin

Off out for some bucking up fresh air.

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 17:58

Chickpeas and green leafy veg and shout at the health visitor, Det :o

Sophia that would piss me off too. Blatant favouritism of one gc over the other! It's not, or shouldn't be, about the parents relationship to the gp - O is her son's dc just as OtherGC is her DD's child Angry

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 18:34

On that note pp or I fact anyone! is there any good chickpea ideas for ten month olds? O had some today in a ready made lamb tagging and loved them. I make chickpea curry, but what else what else?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2013 18:34
  • tagine.
TheDetective · 23/09/2013 18:42

I have been furiously googling away.

Have found a couple of things which are full of calcium that he can have. Stupid fucking tomato allergy - baked beans are full of calcium!.

It's just a pissing ballache!

Sophia I am making falafel burgers this week from Peaches cookbook Grin. I reckon they will be fine for babies :). This is the recipe I am using.

MIL sounds very cruel - although I suspect not intended. I would feel very pissed off though. :(

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 18:43

Hummus on rice cakes/pita/bread/breadsticks/cucumber. In any stew - beef, lamb, veg but i don't like them with chicken - or curry. Dal or any kind of bean stew. 5 bean chilli, with rice or in burritos etc. Falafel - I'll hunt out my sweet potato fluffle recipe in a sec, really easy and fab finger food - also dairy egg and soy free.

Frozen spinach is fab for just chucking in stuff. We had it in a cheese bechemal the other day on pasta then the day after as fish pie. Mixed with pureed cauliflower for fast pasta sauce (dairy free). R loves it Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 18:46

We had a chickpea meal tonight, O loves them. Just did a one pot dish of onion, sausages, chick peas and tinned tomatoes.

O is having his first night away on Saturday. I am currently trying to make plans to go out and get drunk.

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 18:48

Det buy tinned haricot beans then, and chuck them in stews etc :)

applepieinthesky · 23/09/2013 19:07

sophia it's understandable you are upset, I would feel hurt at that too.

gt I hope FIL's op date works out for you.

chasing make the most of your free night and let your hair down. You deserve it.

Still stress city here. I have started with a bedtime routine but so far I'm noticing no improvements at all. It was so hard getting up for work this morning then I come home to DP moaning about his job and a whingey baby. I'm fucking fed up of hearing about DP's work problems. It's not his fault and Tesco are cunts but I'm starting to lose sympathy when he comes home miserable and does nothing about it. If you're that fucking unhappy then look for another job! I know it's not easy to find a job these days but he doesn't even try. Sorry for the language Blush

It's my day off tomorrow so I might call the GP surgery when they open and see if I can get an emergency appointment. If there wasn't so much uncertainty with DP's job I would probably get myself signed off work but it's not wise at the moment

TheDetective · 23/09/2013 19:17

I forgot to add, happy 10 month birthday M and L*! Thank you for reminding me - as you may see on facebook. I forgot Blush.

I must have sounded like a right dickhead at work today. Colleague asked me how old O is. 9.5 months, well, almost 10 months.

Get home, read here and see that actually, he is 10 months today. DIIIIIIIIIICK!

Grin

I enjoyed work today. I am hoping I make an even better midwife now I am back. I feel my general life knowledge has come on in leaps and bounds. I feel more confident. But I have terrible fuzz brain. I have to write EVERYTHING down.

I am sore though. But, coping. I am in again on an early tomorrow. I am a little worried about it as I haven't done 2 consecutive days yet, and today was my first full day. I have been in pain every day after the shifts I have done so far.... Confused

Thanks for the bean ideas Grin. I tend to make stew with tomatoes though. Apart from chicken. Chicken and bean stew it is then?!

Tomato allergy is actually more of a PITA than dairy. Well, not on it's own. But together, it is a fucking nightmare!

O has come out in an allergy rash on his face today, but we don't know what to. He's had nothing he doesn't have regularly, and nothing particularly allergen inducing! It looks very very similar to the tomato reaction.

He is also spectacularly grumpy. But that is because he is demonstrating how he did not fucking appreciate me fucking off for 9 hours today. Hmm

He has also pulled off all the motherfuckingcunting corner cushion guards.

And climbed up on to his car seat, and tried getting on top of the fireguard.

I should have stayed at work.

DP thinks it is amusing how O will not leave my side when I am in the room. He cries to sit on my knee. Then gets down. Then cries because he is down. The joy. Hmm

applepieinthesky · 23/09/2013 19:24

Haha det C does that too - when he's on the floor he cries for me to hold him but as soon as I do he wants to get down again. He doesn't seem to know what he wants.

Brockle · 23/09/2013 19:28

I second kicking up a fuss det

I do stir fry with no sauce chasing and Y loves it.

I would be seriously pissed off and rather hurt sophia but I hope you enjoy your walk Smile

really enjoying wolf hall peaches . I never thought cromwell was the villain he was made out to be so enjoying the fictional cromwell. lovely to be trading again after a brief hiatus.

waiting for take out as have orrible period cramps Sad

Lily311 · 23/09/2013 19:28

O has ear and throat infection. :(

We are at my sister's tonight, babysitting. Not ideal with a sick baby. Never mind.

GTbaby · 23/09/2013 19:49

From one mememe post to another.

Fucking mil. Driving me loopy.
Didn't get lo to sleep earlier. Decided just after 5was better to have dinner and milk then sleep all night.

So he is super cranky n I being him up to my room to calm him n rock him to sleep.
He is crying. He stops. Droopy eyes. She walks in - if he doesn't want to sleep let him play. I keep shushing trying to keep my mouth shut. Lo is eyes wide open looking at her. She starts talking to him! Oh don't u want to sleep. So I said "well it's the 2nd time you've woken him today" picked him up n moved him so he was facing away n carried on shushing. Eventually she walks out. Literally 30seconds later his eyes are closed.

I just don't get how she thinks she is making life easier.
She refuses to admit she woke lo earlier. Kept saying he was already awake. So him crying straight after her yelling outside his bedroom had nothing to do with her? Yeah fucking right.

I know I sound selfish complaining about fil heart Op date. But they refused to change their holiday dates and post poned the op knowing it could coincide with me giving birth and lo bday.
And we live in the same house! A new born baby and a 1year old is stressful enough for everyone. Add to that tip toeing around fil.

Even bil said he hoped I had the baby early as it would be a bit stressful for me n fil to be in hospital at same time.

Ok I can see this turning into a major rant. And me just going off on a tangent. So going to stop now and get some lunch!!!!

And breath. And think calm thought. Stress will not help with bring on labour.

YellowWellies · 23/09/2013 19:52

Ditsy get well soon to the wee gem. Apple Brew xx

PP awesome recipe ideas. Smile Det the wards are lucky to have you. Hope the fanjo is forgiving tomorrow. Peaches great news on the settling in. Sophia I'd be hurt by that too.

Well it's bedtime and we survived. Everybody fed and nobody dead (though our tea looks singed). Highlight of the day was when pusskin and woofer finally met without me holding someone. Puss fluffed up, hissed, shot evils at Betsy - who whimpered and retreated. Am glad puss has retained top spot. Jonas isn't keen on puppy ear washes and has started saying mumumum to get my attention when he wants to be rescued. He used to just use it when upset - now he can nag too.

YellowWellies · 23/09/2013 20:08

Lily get well to O too.

GT Brew (raspberry leaf!) sounds like you need to vent!

YellowWellies · 23/09/2013 20:08

GT Brew (raspberry leaf!) sounds like you need to vent!

BigPigLittlePig · 23/09/2013 20:17

GT every evening I log on and skim read to see if there's any news! MIL sounds like a bit of a pita (nothing new there??!) - not a lot you can do though re: the op etc. Hopefully it will all just fall into place and be ok

YW glad betsy had a good day.

Det F does the same thing with "pick-me-up-up-uo" then "er down down down!" repeat ad infinitum. Bless her though, it is sweet if a little wearing.

Sophia I would be upset by that too. Also miss my mum (and dad) and being able to pop over for a cuppa. Although my mum did reveal that she checks rightmove every day for houses in our locality imagine dhs face at that hahahaha

Pikz Thanks glad you're back safely

Also glad you're safe pennie and the storm turned out to be nothing much.

Eliza good luck with the weigh in.

Chick good to see you back.

Erm.

Lamb chops in the oven need rescuing. F in bed mooing to herself in her sleep. She tried to climb up her cot today Shock I thought she'd restrain from such antics, being prem and all that. Turns out not

GTbaby · 23/09/2013 20:17

Peaches you joked. But party pieces website is best I've come across.

Pikz · 23/09/2013 20:26

YW sounds like betsy is settling in really well. I get mummy now when he wants anything!

Sophia I would be very very upset. Hope the fresh air works.

Det I second PP and the frozen spinach in everything. I do this all the time. I hope I get a midwife like you next time. L also just wants up and down allthe time.

Apple sending a massive hug

PP loving the recipes, keep them coming

Chasing hope the getting drunk plan works!

Brockle enjoy the take out

Get well soon O, and hugs lily

GT honestly I don't know how you cope. I couldn't do it.

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 20:38

I have finished R's first hat of this winter - he was Rudolph then a teddy then an easter chick last year, this year he's starting off as a dragon :o next on the hook is a fox for my friend's dd, then i need to plan his Christmas one. Robin? Christmas pud? I also want to make one that looks like a shark biting down, but I'm not sure how to do the colours as i normally make hats in the round Confused

Wish i could afford takeaway both financially and health wise SadEnvy

2 nights and we'll be cracking open the champers though Wine

FatimaLovesBread · 23/09/2013 20:41

I am ill SadEnvy

After feeling vomtastic all day but managing to get through a day at work I came home at four and have thrown up numerous times since Envy
I haven't been sick for the last hour or so but still have tummy ache and feel generally weak and dead. Guessing it's a tummy bug, hopefully a fleeting one.

Now not sure what to do about work tomorrow ConfusedEnvy

ChasingDaisy · 23/09/2013 20:47

My first love got married last week. Sob.

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2013 21:05
